We spent 2 nights at the Karawan Riad and wish we could have spent more. Everyone was amazing helpful, courteous, and accommodating. The layout of the room was the definition of class. Great food, scenery, and accommodations. We had 2 massages (one the Hamare) and both Mdunia and Lamiae were wonderful. If you are coming from the USA, you would pay 3-4 times what you pay here and for just as great a service. We can’t wait to return.
My husband and I stayed at Karawan Riad in Fes at the end to our trip to Morocco. We spent 3 amazing nights. Karawan Riad is beautiful and perfectly located in The Medina. The Medina in Fes is one of the most beautiful ones in Morocco. Karawan Riad is not only beautiful but it offers all of the comfort that you find at 5 stars hotels. Our room was spacious and uniquely decorated. One of the most beautiful rooms we have stayed. Besides the beauty of Karawan Riad, what makes this place truly exceptional it is the staff that works there. We were contacted by Otmane before we arrived to Karawan Riad. He made sure that we had an amazing time while at Karawan Riad and Fes. He is truly caring and very attentive. Otmane us really exceptional!!! The staff in charge of dining was also amazing. The food was really delicious. I highly recommend the breakfast and the Moroccan dinners, you will not be disappointed. What we enjoy the most was the spa. You must try it while you are at Karawan Riad. We had massages with Lamiae. She is amazing, one of the best masseuses ever!!! Karawan Riad has a beautiful library as well. We enjoy spending time reading there after our dinners. It is a beautiful library. I don’t really write reviews but I was so impressed by this place that I have no doubt that anyone who chooses to stay here will not be disappointed. It is truly a great place. I have stayed in amazing hotels around the world and Karawan Riad is definitely one that I will never forget and will for sure come back again.…
Feel transported back in time at Riad Karawan. The public spaces, the interesting decorations, great staff and the sheer grandeur of the place makes you feel special. We even had a private garden, complete with soothing fountain and comfortable chairs to relax in. Great Views from the rooftop garden.
The hotel is very charming, the rooms are impeccably designed, with beautifully curated pieces. The staff is welcoming, courteous and helpful. The food amazing, aside from the amazing breakfasts, we had the lamb tagine which was outstanding. Very well located, walking distance to the Médina and a 10min car away from other sites. The rooftop is a wonderful surprise, with a view of the old old city and a nice place to have breakfast or lunch.
This was a surprising, but lovely stay. We were in the Demani Suite on the top floor, where it had its own private little terrace. It was styled like an African safari. Beautiful design, although the shower was not super practical (I prefer rain showers). The staff were all very attentive, professional and made sure we felt comfortable. The service at breakfast was unbelievable. Also, even when the restaurants were closed, they arranged to bring us a chef salad to the room, which was fantastic, and I appreciated the superior customer service in trying to work with us. Definitely confusing trying to get around the medina, but we managed! I would definitely recommend a stay here for people looking for un-fussy luxury.
Style/Design: The style of the riad, rooms, and open spaces are gorgeous. Lots of space, beautifully decorated, and very much in modern Moroccan style. Our room was the Chergui Suite and we loved it. It was huge and tastefully decorated. The bathroom was also large and beautiful. The room included a separate living room, a deck, and an “office” space. One of the largest rooms I’ve never stayed in and well laid out. Location: Karawan is located in the middle of the Medina, centrally located, yet removed from the hustle and bustle. It’s tough to get around on your own but that’s why most restaurants offer a porter service and Karawan will do the same. Hiring a guide is critical around the Medina. Just make sure you know what you want and don’t want or you can end up in some tourist traps or several spots where people are showing you rug after rug and expecting you to buy. The one issue with the location is when we arrived from Tangier, our driver called the riad to arrange a meet up and despite the driver speaking French, English, and Arabic, we still couldn’t coordinate with the manager. It wasn’t a huge issue but it certainly caused some stress at the start of our stay and it was odd that they didn’t have a better process set up (they were aware of how and where we were coming from). Service: The breakfast young woman server was absolutely fantastic. She was awesome. Omar was very helpful and even arranged a very light dinner at Karawan when we weren’t very hungry. Our one notch downgrade to a 4 is that the manager wasn’t very friendly and almost a sense of “I’m better with you” and smugness. It was off putting and was felt throughout the 3 night stay. Value: The property is stunning but with initial issues of figuring out how to get to riad and more importantly smugness from the manager, I’d say that there’s room for better value. When spending several hundred dollars per night.. in Morocco.. I expect super friendly service.…
This spectacular riad was our first taste of Morocco. The facility was stunning and the staff couldn’t have been more helpful and friendly. The rooftop views were beautiful especially at sunset. The abundant delicious breakfast was often my favorite of the day!! Highly recommend!!
Karawan Riad is in the heart of the Medina. It truly is an oasis from the bustle of the old city. It was peaceful and elegant. The staff was more that polite and well trained. This Riad is beautiful and recently rennovated with an gorgeous interior courtyard, a beautiful library and amazing rooftop that is exquisit in the morning or evening. My bedroom was much more than I expected. I always felt safe. Their touring advice was top notch. I am so greatful for my stay with them as they made the Fez part of my trip truly a treasured time. Thank you to all the staff at Karawan Riad.

Stayed here for a short stay with a large group in July. We had initially booked for 3 nights but could only stay for 2 because of a change in our plans. We booked 4 rooms and basically had the entire 2nd floor to ourselves. Let me start out by saying that we were blown away by this hotel. The hotel went out of it's way to make us feel comfortable. We're booked the rooms through booking.com. Rooms : clean , well decorated and modern. There is no central AC but there are wall units in every room. The rooms are huge and we were spoiled. Breakfast: delicious and served like we were part of their family. I felt like I was at home. Facilities:. The hotel is a Riad which is actually an old home that had been converted into a hotel. Everything is beautiful and well maintained. Service:. What I was truly impressed by is the service. These guys treated us like family and it was not unnoticed. Sidi Usman, Nuzha and two others who I am forgetting babes all went out of there way. Sidi Usman in particular helped me to arrange covid testing for our group and followed up on the results diligently. He clearly went above and beyond. Do not look and further. This gem is THE place to stay in Fez. …
