The location is convenient, in the Old Town area, you can reach the night market area in a 12-minute walk in the evening.
The hotel is elegant and comfortable, beautiful and magnificent, the rooms are spacious and fully equipped.
Breakfast dinner is delicious, rich and can be added, and the Moroccan style of Couscous beef taste good! After-meal dessert top 👍🏻👍🏻 dinner is more characteristic music!
The most pleasant thing is that all the staff are very warm, the service is attentive, and the flow of people is forgotten.

Our stay at the Riad was absolutely amazing. From the moment we arrived we felt welcomed by the friendly staff. We were served the traditional Moroccan mint tea and cookies and Marcos was fantastic and gave us the history of the fabulous Riad, one of the oldest and largest in all of Morocco. I would add that it was the most beautiful Riad in all of our trip throughout Morocco. Thank you Marcos and your beautiful staff for taking such great care of us.

One last note- I had a stomach bug that I caught before arriving to the Riad, Marcos had his staff prepare a detox drink made from black tea, lemon, honey and hot water. It was delicious and just the willingness to go above and beyond to make me feel better was very special.

Don’t hesitate to stay here on your trip to Fes.

Our stay at Riad El Yacout was amazing. From the minute that we walked in we felt the positive energy and incredible hospitality. The staff could not have been more engaging and helpful as they checked us in, dealt with our bags, and offered us a welcome tea and snack! The Riad is just beautiful with special touches of Morocco at every turn. The decor, pool and garden area and tile work made you feel as you had ventured back in time even though every modern convenience was there. Our room had a wonderful separate seating area as we walked in and the bedroom was decorated with spectacular Moroccan tile work. We were only there for 2 nights but the staff made us feel like royalty and family. We were able to have a few meals there and each was outstanding...there was so much food at the breakfasts it was amazing! We did not get their names but there was an older gentleman and a young woman who were at the main desk and both were extremely kind and helpful! The manager, Marcos, was an absolute bundle of energy who made an effort to get to know every guest. He spent time with us by the pool as we had a light dinner on our first night. It was great to get to know him and he made that night and each day very special for us! We loved watching Marcos and his team working so hard to make everyone feel like they were the most important person there. When Marcos walked us to our car on our last day I pulled him aside and said that I had worked with many great teams before and they all have one thing in common, they are a reflection of a very positive and supportive leader. Marcos and team - You Rock! We had a wonderful time and we highly recommend Riad El Yacout!

We were forced into booking El Yacout because there was nothing else available in Fez for the kind of property (fairly upmarket) and nights we were looking for. There’s probably a reason why only Yacout had availability, which we were, to our detriment, to find out.

As soon as you walk in, you are greeted with this overwhelmingly intrusive welcome where they pull out picture books of the time U2 stayed there. They fail to mention it was over a decade back. The place hasn’t been updated since, and its character shows. We were given the Queen Rania room (supposedly she stayed there once) and it was dark, stank of mold, and the bathroom dilapidated with tiles coming off, mold everywhere, and stains. (I attach some pics)

It took us three separate requests to get them to address their leaky toilet (all the time while water just kept going through the flush in this water-starved country). The dining room atrium was always packed with groups from tours (noticed Intrepid signs on one of their minders) from all over. Maybe their minders make sure they get proper service and clean rooms, but if you are traveling just as a couple you are on your own.

Everything they did for us made us feel disappointed, and there was an explanation they could give to everything. It was clear that we weren’t the first to have these problems. There was a prompt and “practiced” tone to everything they said. If I tipped, which I did when other avenues didn’t yield response, we got the attention.

We couldn’t get out of there fast enough. Be careful of asking them for any help - guides, transport, whatever. There are price differences between what they say and what they charge. Make sure to get it in writing.

Poorly managed, poorly operated, with poor customer service. Buyers beware. As for us, “never again.”

BTW, their pricing is at the high end of hotels in the city. So do yourself a favor: if nothing is available in the Medina, get a hotel outside. But don’t book this one.

Raid El Yacout is a magical place. Stepping into the lobby off one of the narrow side streets in the Medina, you will find yourself transported back in time. The main space is beautifully decorated with rich traditional Moroccan furnishings and elaborate tile work. Our party was immediately served mint tea and Moroccan sweets in a parlor fit for royalty and introduced to the Riad’s amazing staff who pampered us during our 3 night stay (our rooms were wonderfully appointed and so clean). Every interaction with the staff was delightful. Always with smiles and kind words, they worked hard making sure that all of our needs were met. I don’t think I have ever had better service or felt so cared for at any place I have stayed while traveling. We were all sad to leave our lovely El Yacout family.

This riad was fabulous in so many ways! The setting is amazing— an oasis of tranquility in Fes on the edge of the Medina. Rooms are spacious and very comfortable, with individual temperature controls that are easy to use. Decor is traditional Moroccan style, with Berber carpets on beautiful tile floors and colorful mosaics decorating walls everywhere. The central atrium is airy, light, with a central fountain and plants and flowers.

The food is so tasty! Be sure to have a tajine or chicken pastilla. And Moroccan tea, of course!

Best of all are the employees. Marcos guarantees you have whatever you need or want. He is funny and so welcoming. At one dinner with a live musician he sang along, danced, and another time performed a great rap for us! Another standout is Fattah, whose kind gentle demeanor makes you feel at home.

If you are looking for a great place to stay in Fes, stay at Riad el Yacout!

I read rave reviews and think many people got swept away by the appearance of the property rather than the comfort and quality of the amenities of the facility. We started our arrival with checking into our room and going to dinner. There were two men who played music. Unfortunately, the food did not meet my expectations. Dinner was very carb heavy. We were served a large bowl of couscous with just two tiny chunks of meat. I thought that was an appetizer and just ate the two chunks of meat. To my surprise, that was actually the main course and I realized that when they followed the couscous dish with a pastry and a bowl of fruit pieces soaked in orange juice.

After dinner we went up to our room to relax.
We turned on the TV, but we couldn't get any channels. One of the employees came and fixed it for us, but we only saw a few channels.
We ended up watching a nature program in German before we went to sleep.

My husband went to take a shower. He had to run the water for at least 10 minutes before it became hot. While he showered, I sat down to use the Internet. I found that it was extremely slow and/or nonexistent. I found out the next day that we could get it in the lobby.

The hallways were very dark and there were steps. I had to ask them twice to turn on lights so we could get to our room both in the morning and the evening when we went to or from our room.

We literally had to lock ourselves into the room to have the door locked at night. My feeling is that if there were a fire, a quick exit would be difficult.

There is no elevator. We didn't mind walking up to the third floor, but if you are handicapped you will want to ask for a first floor room.

The hotel gave us a decent breakfast with sugar free yogurt. It was served with scrambled eggs family style. There was a selection of breads.

The hotel was a pretty place and the staff knocked themselves out to make the visit appealing, but for us and those who were with us, the place fell flat with being what they tried so hard to be. It was okay for the two nights we were there, but I’d stay somewhere else if thinking about a future visit to Fes.

Riad El Yacout is a wonderful place to stay! This historical Riad is a beautiful estate home comprised of amazing artwork, andfurniture-all housed in a wonderful Moroccan mosaic-detailed architecture. The staff here is absolutely lovely! They want so much to make your stay as comfortable as possible. Every single person I’ve encountered— from the hotel porter to the restaurant staff and maids who are cleaning our sumptuous rooms—are very friendly, helpful and hardworking.

This riad was fabulous! We had a room on the top floor hitch required walking up 50 plus steps but there was a small elevator to use if needed. Our room was VERY spacious and had everything we needed including a safe and a refrigerator. The food from the restaurant was very good. We were traveling with a Collette group and the only thing we didn’t care for was our breakfast….too much bread! Adding some cheeses and more fruit would be a nice touch. The VERY BEST apart of our stay was the friendliness and welcoming attitude of the employees. Marco stands out as one of the most enthusiastic people we have ever encountered! He went out of his way to see that we had everything we needed or wanted. We also experienced the hamman here s well…very nice!

The Riad El Yacout is nestled in the Medina and when you slip down and alley and into it's ornate front door, it is like you have found a secret paradise and been given the keys to the kingdom.

When we arrived, we were greeted by Marcos and his colleagues with great fanfare as though we were family who had been away too long. We started with a traditional Moroccan tea with cookies to refresh us after a long day of travel. The tea was served in a beautifully hand crafted tea set. Marcos sat with us and made us feel welcome.

After tea, a lovely young lady who spoke near perfect English checked us in and, from that moment on, we had no need unmet. Almost immediately, Marcos and three of his colleagues, who functioned as a perfectly coordinated team, descended on us, grabbed all our bags and whisked us away to a beautiful room once occupied by the Queen of Jordan. My son commented that we were being treated as Royalty.

No matter where we were, someone had an eye on us. When we were at the pool, Marcos or a colleague offered a towel, a cup of mint tea, or a glass of wine.

When we appeared in the morning, a cup of coffee was in our hands before we could say good morning and a beautiful breakfast with Moroccan delicacies was spread before us in the Atrium of what was a 17th century home complete with a fountain, colorful tiling, handmade Berber rugs and intricate wood carvings. Spectacular is the only way to describe it.

In the evenings a similar spread was provided. We ate out several times but found the hotel food to be superior. We later learned the chef used to cook for the King and the food reflected that level of quality.

Marcos and company were warm and engaging but not too much so. Marcos treated us to brief episodes of his own version of American rap much to my son's delight. He also enendured, with good humor, my feeble attempts to learn arabic words.

Other delights are also available. After dinner one night, we had a Moroccan hammam and massage, a treat not to be missed.

Our visit ended as it began with Marcos and his crew ushering us down the alley and to our car, bags in tow, and then slipped back down the alley making me wonder if it had all been a dream.

I am quite certain the Queen herself did not receive better service. More importantly, in the end, it felt like we were saying goodbye to old friends.

I cannot recommend this place highly enough.
