Coming upon this riad, the traveller is transported into the splendours of Moorish art and architecture that reflect the deeply entwined history of Spain and Morocco. This ambience, along with the warm hospitality offered by the staff, will make your experience here unforgettable. Resplendent with carved plasterwork, mosaic tiles (known as zellij), doors and window frames of carved cedar wood, painted ceilings.

We stayed for 10 nights in this beautifully converted riad that lies just inside the boundaries of Fès El Bali, the ancient medina of Fès. Being located here, after just a little advice from the hotel staff, we found ourselves quickly orientated to the crowded but utterly fascinating pedestrian environment, able to find our way around with confidence. As well as walking in the medina most days, we also explored further afield on foot (reaching as far as the Ville Nouvelle).
We had a car with us, and the hotel staff helped us negotiate with the local parking guardian at the nearest drivable street, about 100 metres away. The guardian system was initially intimidating and opaque, but it gradually unfolded to us as a very effective form of self-regulation, so we were grateful to the hotel staff for their early assistance.
As with most buildings in the medina, the riad was quite inward looking, with just a heavy door visible on the street. All of the rooms looked onto the central courtyard that was decorated with colourful mosaics and delicate wood-carving. Our room was comfortable, opening out onto the central area, where breakfasts were served. The breakfasts were a fine combination of omelettes, breads, pastries, fruit, yoghurts – everything that one would expect from a western-Mediterranean establishment. Evening meals were by special arrangement, so we found it more convenient to eat out each evening, with nearby restaurants and cafés serving a fine range of local and world cuisines.
We found Ria Dar Cordoba to be a perfect location. It is within the medina, yet is easily accessible and consequently it makes the medina itself accessible. The staff made our stay easy and memorable. If we visit Fès again, which is likely, we will stay here again.

This accommodation is a short walk from the Main Street. Its nondescript exterior does not advertise the treasure inside the walls. Our breath was taken away by the stunning architecture and traditional furnishings and decor. Hospitality offered exceeded our expectations at every turn. A beautiful mint tea and baked treats were provided upon arrival. Soft spa music in the background lulled us into a relaxed state, much appreciated after a day of travel. The staff were gracious and kind. We did not carry a suitcase once. Everything was brought to our rooms. Rooms were clean and so extraordinary - old meets new without interfering with a sense of having gone back in time to a rich traditional experience. Breakfast was lovely - many choices. We had dinner also (order in the morning if having dinner); it was beautiful salads, rich tagines of chicken, warm bread and dessert. Guests who arrived later were quiet and didn’t disturb those already asleep. We completely enjoyed our stay here and left rested for the next leg of our journey.

If you decide to go from here to a tour of the old city with a local guide, we highly recommend asking for Mehdi. His tour was one of the biggest highlights of our ten day trip. He really knows his way around and will help you get the most out of a day.

After a great day of walking and sightseeing with Mehdi, it was so lovely to come back to this riad where peace and a wonderful dinner waited for us.

It was totally a gem in an alley! Once I walked in to this raid my jaws dropped wide open. The ancient look of the building is full of history. The manager Mohammed told me the building is about 600 years old but you tell me this place is so well kept. The service is excellent. A boy named Youssef was so helpful. He offers all sorts of help to us. He was friendly and making us feel we are most welcomed. Youssef took us to the terrace so we can overlook the night view of the city. The next morning Youssef greeted us with his big smile and a whole table full of delicious food on the table for breakfast. Too bad that I only stayed one one night but if I will back then definitely I will still here again and meet my friend Youssef.

What a wonderful riad! Very comfortable and heaven to come back to after a hot day of sightseeing. Very clean too.
Moha was a truly hospitable and kind host who attended to all our needs. Even running to a neighbor to bring back anything he couldn’t supply. The breakfasts and dinners he provided were delicious and very authentic. Moha always made sure that we were connected to excellent safe guides and always inquired about our plans for the day so he could make sure we were safe and well catered for.
I would highly recommend this riad for its location, comfort and attention to detail. -

We stayed at the Riad Cordoba for 4 days and had a wonderful time. The Riad is beautiful and our suite was large and very comfortable with a good shower and washing facilities. It was lovely to relax on the terrace after sightseeing. The food was excellent! Great breakfasts and the evening meals were delicious, fresh home cooking of wonderful Moroccan dishes.
Mohammad is an excellent manager who established good communication before our arrival and arranged everything for us - airport pickup, fantastic day trips and he made sure we were happy and had the best stay possible. Youssef was amazing, such an excellent waiter who worked hard to make everything perfect. He was always so positive and pleasant that he brightened our day.
We would highly recommend a stay at the Riad Cordoba.

We've been in this Riyadh for two nights with our kids. We occupied two rooms and both were beautiful. The Riad is a dream place, careful to detail, when you enter it transports you to a thousand and one nights. The courtyard invites you to spend time in it for its beauty and for the pleasant atmosphere they have created.

The breakfast is delicious. And what we will remember most is the attention of the two people who attend the place. We were with Youssef, a lovely, polite, attentive, helpful boy.

My husband, 12 and 16 year olds and I agreed that this has been the best accommodation we have ever been to in Morocco, and we went through 6, all very good. We would repeat without hesitation.

Our stay at Dar Cordoba was incredible! The location was perfect and the rooms were very clean. Our favourite part though was the amazing staff, especially our new friend Youssef. He was so helpful throughout our entire stay, answering our questions, sharing tea, and making us feel at home. He truly went above and beyond to ensure our time in Fes was special and memorable. We will forever cherish our travels to Morocco, thanks to Youssef & Mohamed at Dar Cordoba

We have just spent a wonderful 5 days at this traditional dar accommodation that had everything we needed in very ornate surroundings. If you like architecture, tradition, colour and beauty you will love this place . Mohammed was a fantastic host where nothing was too much trouble and all our needs were definitely met . The Berber omelette that he made us in the tagine for breakfast a couple of times was out of this world 😍. We hope to comeback again soon.

I really enjoyed my stay at Riad dar Cordoba. My room was spacious and well decorated and I could have a taste of the morrocan style of life . Mohamed, the manager, was reqdy to help the guests and make you feel really at home in Fes. The staff is also friendly and make sure you are having a good time.
The terrace was amazing. You have a quiet to place to relax after a day of sightseeing.

Amazing experience, i will probably return in my next trip to Morroco.

Nice well maintained Riad. Nice location, within walking distance to the Blue gate. We loved the size of our room. It gave us a good feel of Morocco, and we loved being greeted with tea after a long day. Great service.
