From our smooth check-in with Hussein to our dinner at Fez Cafe where Paul helped us select from the fabulous menu through to Jawad helping us with our bags and to find our dinner destinations - everyone offered incredible warmth and service at this beautiful riad. It was my birthday during our stay and Hussein surprised me with flowers before dinner and everyone waited for us at the door to offer warm birthday wishes afterwards. As I said in the guest book - they made us feel like royalty. We stayed in the Calife room. Recommend!
I loved my stay here. All of the rooms and the cafe/restaurant is laid out around a big, lush garden unlike anything I saw elsewhere in Fes. The garden is truly a unique gem. The decor of the rooms and rest of the hotel is a mix of traditional Moroccan and bohemian and even a bit retro. It was especially perfect for traveling as a big group of friends because there were many rooms, as well as many common spaces to gather. The staff was amazingly helpful, especially Asdeen and Simu who were always available for providing a coffee, beverage, or snack.
I stayed in La Pancha suite with my husband and two sons (14 and 12), and can't recommend it more. The decor was beautiful and authentic, the staff was very friendly, and we loved the gardens. My kids enjoyed the cats walking around. :) We also enjoyed spending evenings on the terrace. We had an early departure time and the staff sent us off with a bagged breakfast. Great location in the Medina, but the gardens made us feel like we were somewhere else! The owner was very personable as well. Highly recommend.
Our stay in Riad Jardin des Biehn was excellent. We spent two nights in the Princess de Desert room located on the top floor. Our room was small but lovely with an extremely large patio overseeing the medina. Room was very clean and the water pressure for the shower was great! Gardens are stunning and we were within walking distance from everything you could need. We are happy with our stay and would recommend for sure!!
It has the most amazing rooms. We stayed in the Oriental room, which was huge, clean and very original. The owner is really nice, the restaurant is lovely and the place is really peaceful. It is really centric and safe.
We have just had our first experience of Morocco, starting in Fes. This Riad is very well located for access into the Medina and whilst we thoroughly enjoyed our 5 days there we did feel that something was lacking. Hard to put your finger on it exactly, but we felt that the overall service was was a bit “casual”. Upon arrival we were not offered a seat & welcome drink, an explanation of services/tours available or any general information on the Riad. Having said this, we did enjoy our stay and did select one of the more expensive rooms. The staff were all polite & courteous, meals very good, the complimentary breakfast substantial (especially with the addition of omelettes...not openly advertised, but supplied at no cost when requested), beautiful lush garden surroundings and the all important WiFi of high speed. The small plunge pool was fine for a cooling dip. It’s just that for the money we paid, we probably expected higher levels of service.…
Our party of 4 shared 2 rooms, both of which were large and beautifully decorated. The gardens were luxurious, and once inside the gate to the property it felt very private. Thankfully there were porters to carry the luggage up and down the steps. We enjoyed breakfast in the restaurant.
Just checked out after 3 nights in the little paradise inside the Fes Medina. We have been traveling to Morocco for many years and have stayed in many beautiful Riads in all the major Medina’s but this was something more, so unique and special, everywhere you look there is art and love, the gardens are beautiful with fruit and birds, it’s a big space with only a few suites so there is a feeling of tranquility, the Hammam was traditional and perfect! Their restaurant was so good that we ate there all 3 nights, the staff though were the best part of the stay, so easy and friendly. Truly a paradise, we will be back..
This was the first stop after arriving in Morocco and it did not disappoint. It was just a short walk from the gate which made bag transportation easy and better yet close to the souks. The garden is fabulous and our room, the suite was very comfortable. It is decorated in what I would assume is Moroccan Continental if there is such a thing...a feast for the eyes. The entire staff strives for top notch service from the manager to the porter. Additionally, there is a hammam on site which is an added treat. Overall, a great experience!
We were here to spend a relaxing day in Fes, after reading the more than positive report on the Lonely Planet guide and excellent reviews on TripAdvisor, but after an expensive lunch at the Fez Cafe restaurant we were robbed in the private locker room of the hammam. During the treatment they took a large sum of money from mine and my partner's wallets that would have served us for the desert tour we were due to undertake the next day. As soon as we noticed the theft we went to the director of the riad to ask for an explanation, but everything was resolved with mockery and it was a waste of time complaining to the police. We didn't receive either an apology or a gesture of regret from the director of the riad. He did not even deign to reimburse us the lunch or the cost of the hammam, probably the most expensive in Fes, more than 60 € for two which for Morocco is a lot of money. Probably the reviews on TripAdvisor are not true and tourists have to be aware about what can happen at this riad.…
