The Grand Alcazar is a guest house, set in a beautiful Riad located in the Batha district in the heart of Fes, less than 1.5 km from the Royal Palace. Only 100 m from the public car park, the Riad is very easily accessible by car, on foot or by public transport, and can accommodate people with reduced mobility. Built several centuries ago, and renovated in 1944 and in 2018, the Riad was previously owned by an important family of the Fassi nobility who made it an architectural jewel, very rich in ornaments and traditional decorations Fassi (Zellige, carved plaster, Wood carved and painted by hand, etc.). The house has been fully restored to the traditional architectural art of Fez by local artisans, retaining all its authenticity while providing the technology and equipment necessary to make your stay the most memorable, comfortable and exceptional possible . The Riad has 11 large suites and 3 smaller double rooms, all non-smoking. The suites can accommodate up to 4 people. Each of them has been decorated in a particular style, traditional and authentic, with bedding of very high quality and furniture of exceptional beauty. Free WiFi is available throughout the property. Featuring a private bathroom with a bath, a bidet and a hairdryer, all rooms at Grand Alcazar have a flat-screen TV and air conditioning / heating. All suites have a sitting area, dressing room, high quality bedding, and offer exceptional comfort. The Grand Alcazar is renowned for its authentic homemade traditional Moroccan cuisine and offers a selection of local gourmet specialties prepared by our chef with over 30 years of experience. We have also built a beautiful rooftop terrace of the Riad, with a very beautiful height, to offer you a breathtaking 360-degree views of the entire Medina of Fez. Only 5 minutes from Bab Boujloud (Blue Gate), the Grand Alcazar enjoys a prime location, ideal to undertake a beautiful visit of the medina. The property is 200 meters from Bouanania Madrasa and 200 meters from Batha Square. The new city is a 5-minute drive away, and the nearest airport is Fes-Saïss, 15 km away.

Our stay at El Gran Alcázar in Fez was truly memorable! I was travelling alone with 2 teenagers. The hotel has a warm, familiar ambiance that makes you feel right at home from the moment you arrive. The location is perfect, allowing easy access to the Medina , only 6 minutes walking to the Blue Gate.
The rooms were clean, spacious, and well-maintained, making our stay even more comfortable. One of the highlights was the stunning views from the rooftop terrace, where we enjoyed breathtaking panoramas of the city.
A special thank you to Yuri, who went above and beyond to make my daughter's birthday extra special by organizing a beautiful cake and recommending the best restaurant with live entertainment. Her attention to detail and kindness truly made a difference.
We also want to acknowledge Youssef, who was brilliant in assisting us with excursions and arranging seamless airport transfers. His expertise and hospitality made exploring Fez effortless and enjoyable.
With exceptional service, a welcoming atmosphere, and thoughtful personal touches, El Gran Alcázar exceeded our expectations. We highly recommend it to anyone visiting Fez!

The ‘grand’ in the name Le Grand Alcazar is no pretence. The building really is palatial. It is actually two magnificent adjacent historic riads, that have been seamlessly connected. We found its location in the Batha neighbourhood to be ideal. It’s off a quiet residential alleyway but only a few streets away from the Blue Gate. Being on the west side of the Medina, it’s also conveniently placed for a pleasant half hour walk down to the Fez el-Bali/Jewish Quarter. On our arrival we were generously upgraded to the largest room which happened to be vacant ( - our stay was low season, first week of February). The room is huge, about 50sqm with a 6m high ceiling. Everything is immaculately clean and well maintained. We enjoyed the wonderful breakfasts served by the charming liveried waiter. One evening we arranged to eat in and the couscous was the best of several we had during our time in Morocco. The warmth of the welcome that we received from Omar, Youssef and Yousra has for us set a new standard as to what defines the finest hospitality. We can not think of anything that could have made our stay more perfect. Fez is a fascinating city and would have been happy to linger longer than our four days. We intend to return and hopefully stay at Le Grand Alcazar again.

Sumptuous stay in this exceptional riad which combines elegance, authenticity and modernity. Everything was perfect: the decoration of the riad, the refreshing swimming pool, the traditional breakfasts with new items every morning, the welcome and kindness of the very professional staff. We had dinner there on the last evening and the traditional dishes were excellent. We stayed in the Royal suite which is breathtaking when you enter for the first time and dazzles us every moment when we discover the details that make it beautiful: moldings, embroidery, curtains, stained glass windows. The riad is ideally located, in a quiet street and close to the medina and the main points of interest: Karaouyne mosque and university, Saffarine and Attarine medersa, Nejarrine foundouk and the tanners located 5 to 10 minutes away on foot. There are also good spots to be had within a 5-minute walk: the ruined garden and the rooftop of the Riad Fès. 1 minute walk away you also have a roundabout where taxis meet which can take you to the new city: Borj Fes shopping center (crossroads, kiabi, miniso, fun Park and foodcourt for children), Royal Palace and Melah district ).
Don’t hesitate, it’s the perfect place.

This was quite honestly the best experience we had in all of our time in Morocco. The location is excellent, the interior sublime and the staff are exceptional. The breakfast is substantial and the dinner we ordered was divine. Yousef goes above and beyond to make each guest feel welcomed and cared for.

1st day: a suite (supposedly) whose window is next to a very noisy lifting pump result: impossible to sleep, tiny bathroom with a small leaky shower tray result: paddling pool. We were lied to when they said it was going to be fixed later today. We finally changed rooms on the second day which was very small we could barely put our suitcases around the bed, the bathroom was just a small cabinet with small sink, a toilet and a mixer to wash without shower tray not very clean (photo). Impossible to put on the TV because no remote control. The Director kindly cancelled our 3rd night which was booked... but the 2 nights cost us 185.00 euros... a little expensive for the service right?. To close it all off, our taxi driver had to give the Riad a stake because he wasn't the official Riad driver... in conclusion: go your way.

A fabulous Dar / Riad right beside one of the main entrances to the Medina. We were blown away by the historic aspect to this riad and the unique historical style. Rooms were fabulous with lots of room, most of the rooms have lounges which is perfect for couples with luggage. Amazing views from the rooftop where you can take spectacular views of the old media. The best part about the Riad is the service. Yusuf and his team were incredibly hospitable, with amazing service given to our group with regards to assisting us with our luggage, early breakfasts , organising a birthday cake , everything was beautifully organised, professional and dine with a smile. Nothing was too much trouble. Highly recommended staying here for a true Fes experience.

Very nice establishment well located but where one wonders if "there is a pilot in the plane .." so weak the service and the holding of the place poor: - we must insist and we see that it disturbs to have breakfast served on the beautiful terrace (and yes a waiter must go up ) and the last day "not possible..." - the room is made around 4:00 pm -There's dust on the tables - poor on-site dining ... in short there is a severe shortage of staff and the price paid is totally disproportionate to the services of the establishment! The icing on the cake, we took 3 mint teas before leaving and had to pay 40 HRD (given the 4 nights we just spent there...!?) Only respect to the waiter of the establishment who "manages" himself as best he can to serve up to 35 people in full capacity of the establishment (which seemed to be the case this Sunday) Is there a manager ...!!!??? In short you can have much better in the same category in Fes...

The room was very spacious, clean and the bed was very comfortable. The location was perfect for us because we wanted to have a driver drop us off close to the hotel but we were still within only 5mins walk from the Medina. They organised our transport too and from the airport and a driver to take us around the outskirts of Fes for half a day which was perfect. The whole team’s hospitality was always incredibly polite and helpful and there was super delicious breakfasts.

Whenever I come to Fes I stay at le grand alcazar, they have the best Moroccan food and local specialties, the staff is very lovely, helpful, warm and welcoming, the rooms and suits are so beautiful, comfortable, clean and luxurious, I love the 1001 nights vibes they give.
Last time I booked an excursion to Merzouga through them and it was amazing. The service was excellent from the driver who drives safely to the car that was comfy and clean, definitely trusting them on this.
Otherwise my favorite thing to do when I am in the Riad is enjoying my Moroccan tea on the terrace and watching the sunset.
Thank you to Omar and Othmane for giving to Fes this beautiful place and to visitors this beautiful experience, and can’t wait to come back to visit. 5stars well deserved!

Our stay at Le Grand Alcazar exceeded all expectations. We said numerous times throughout our stay that this Riad was the nicest in all of our visits around Morocco, and deserves to have every room filled at all times. It’s a hidden treasure, and I am confident this place will boom with the return of tourism in years to come.
From the start, the owners welcomed us like their family and showed incredible kindness and hospitality. Like something out of a movie, we felt immediately at home at Le Grand Alcazar. They then helped us familiarize ourselves with Fes, recommended an itinerary for our trip, and secured a tour guide for the next day. We enjoyed a delicious dinner in the courtyard, including a complementary family recipe appetizer. They also served tea and snacks throughout our stay.
The rooms were gorgeous - filled with ornate details and glamour that made the Riad feel original and beautiful around every corner. The lobby was equally beautiful with flowers and plants to complement the high courtyard.
Fes is an amazing city, and I would highly recommend any travelers to stay at Le Grand Alcazar when they visit. Omar and Otmane, we cannot thank you enough!
