We had an outstanding stay at Dar Attajalli, and highly recommend using it as your base for exploring Fez and the surrounding area. The rooms are spacious, the hosts are friendly and helpful, and the riad is simply stunning. We had dinner at the riad twice and both meals were terrific. Breakfast was also great, and anything we wanted was just a request away. The location is also ideal, as it is a few minutes from the main shopping and tourist area of the medina, and an easy 10-minute walk to the Blue Gate. Stop looking and book your stay here!
This is a lovely small riad. It is so tastefully restored, with such artistic attention to detail. The common spaces are very lovely. Our rooms were spacious, beautiful, quiet and comfortable. We ordered dinner one night which was exceptionally good. And most important of all, the staff were unusually kind, attentive and gracious.
The Dar is absolutely beautiful. Our room on the 4th floor was very spacious and modern. We felt as if the terrace belonged to us. There is an entire wall of windows overlooking the beautiful rooftop terrace. Be advised this room is on the the 4th floor, up some fairly steep stairs, if you don’t mind the climb go for it. Breakfast everyday was outstanding, Youseff made the experience every morning unforgettable. Attentive young men that have an eye for details. We chose to have dinner on our first night and last. I have to say the food was impressive and delicious. You must have dinner at least once and experience the quality of the food. The chef was very friendly and professional. Idriss, words can’t describe what an amazing experience he gave us. He arranged our pick up at the train station and drop of at the airport. He was there for us if we had any questions or looking for recommendations. Outstanding service like this is hard to find, he made us feel very special. In years past I worked in the hotel industry, including 1 of the only two 5 star hotels in Boston MA. Nobody ever gave this type of service. When visiting Fez look no further than this place. Superb!!!…
This a a small, comfortable and friendly Riad in the north of the Medina. It has been restored to give a really authentic feeling. Our hosts Idriss and Youssef were very helpful and responsive to all our needs. Dinner is provided on request and these were of a high standard and reasonably priced. Alcohol was available, although limited in choice. There is a good terrace area where you can relax with a drink if you choose. Overall a really enjoyable stay and would recommend without hesitation, unless to those with limited mobility, where the steep stairs would be an issue.
At Dar Attajali it’s all about the little details that puts this place over the top. From their gracious and quiet hospitality to almond biscottis on arrival to the collection of local soaps provided in the rooms, they do everything to make sure your stay is nothing short of pleasant. Idriss, the host, helped us to arrange a porter to help us carry our bags through the streets of the Médina to the bus station and was able to accommodate a short notice request for a vegan meal the first evening of our stay. The meal was absolutely delicious too! Would definitely stay again if we make it to Fes!
