To fully experience the Medina in Fez, accommodation inside the old city is the way to go. We were fortunate to book the Riad Taha and to have Mundir as our host. From the time Mundir met us at the Bab Rcif, we knew we were in good hands, he had arranged transportation from the train station and was waiting for us at the Gate to the Medina. We stayed three nights, enjoyed the breakfasts he served, the tea and coffee and even a dinner with him. The Riad is clean and comfortable and basic, good value, all part of the experience. Mundir provided information and directions for ease of getting around and where to eat and what to see. He makes the stay worthwhile and the experience memorable.
We had an excellent stay in the medina of Fez. Mundir, the host of the riad, did a great job: delicious breakfast, good service, he showed us the most beautiful spots of the city and made our stay very comfortable. The rooms are clean and the riad has a beautiful design. I recommend this to every tourist!
In the old city of Fez, we stayed in Riad Taha. Mondir was very nice, very welcoming, and very friendly. His sense of humor and his laugh brought joy to all of us. The riad was nice and Mondir was brilliant!!
We stayed at Riad Taha for 2 nights. The location is perfect as we could explore the Medina on foot easily because the riad is situated within Fes' old city. We got a spacious room on the 3rd level & it was clean and well maintained. The rooms, the dining area, corridors and staircases were nicely decorated in the traditional way. If you want to experience living in a real Moroccan riad, this is the place to be. A few steps outside the riad, we could find small eateries sellling local bread, fruits and desserts, and about less than 10 minutes walk way to a tannery. Mr. Mundir, a very helpful and dedicated native of Fes, is the host of Riad Taha. He welcomed us warmly and had made our 2 nights stay very comfortable and well taken care of. The breakfasts and dinners he prepared were very delicious, especially the Lemon Chicken Tagine. He always gave us generous portion of fruit platter after each meal. Our room came with half-board meals and it was well worth it. Fes is a very interesting destination in Morocco, and Mr Mundir & the Riad Taha had made our stay a very memorable one!…
Riad Taha is located near Place R'Cif in the eastern part of the medina, 25~30 minutes on foot from the well-famous and bustling Blue Gate (Bab Bou Jeloud) main entrance. On the other hand, it's quite close to some others must-do and must-see places like Foundouk Nejarine, Medersa Attarine and the tanneries as well. Try to book a transfer directly with them for the first time or get a taxi to Place R'cif and then ask to be met there. Despite being in a hidden alley, it's easy to find it after you catch the way. There are some signals on the corners of the alleys pointing to its doors. I've got a really huge room enough for an entire family. Bed was amazingly comfortable and everything was spotless. The only downsides were the really tiny shower box. There was no deal: floor was flooded every time. And the wifi signal that was a bit weak in the room. It was better to rely on mobile network instead. Breakfast was plentiful and fresh. Staff is very attentive asking frequently if everything is fine or if anything is missing. They really make their best to provide a pleasant stay. Once in Fès, this is surely one of the most welcoming place to rest.…
