The hotel is a bit older but the staff and location were phenomenal. Central location made getting around Casablanca easy and the suite had all of the expected amenities. The concierge lounge was fantastic and the view from up there was a lot of fun.
We stayed at the Sheraton twice in Casablanca. There were some bumps at the beginning. We had to change our room twice because there was a draft coming in due to the windows. The second room was the same. We finally got a good room. It was clean and the bed was like sleeping on a cloud. This is the only bed in Morocco I found comfortable. We were very disappointed that breakfast was not included. Most hotels have this. However, there were two things that really impressed me. These things go a long way for me. The first time I was checking out, I bumped into the manager and she asked me how my stay was. I told her stress of changing the room over and over again. She was sincere and wanted to make it right. The 2nd time we came back (from Marrakesh), everything was perfect! The concierge arranged for the taxi to the airport for the next day. The price is set. The taxi driver tried to scam us the day of! We called the man working at the Sheraton desk and he told the taxi driver off and we paid the set price. It was stressful that this taxi driver was trying to take advantage of us especially since we were leaving for the airport that day! I will never forget the Sheraton in Casablanca for their kindness and sincerity. If I ever go back to Casablanca, I'll be back.…
Well situated hotel for the station and getting around, not new but has a good feel, staff were very helpful, service was excellent, so this would be a hotel I will use again, the lounge is a little small so if busy which it wasn't it might be a bit cramped but not really a problem
The staff at the Sheraton went out of their way to be hospitable and helpful. We visited the property a day earlier to ensure we got the room we booked online. Nadia took care of everything. The Hotel it’s self is antiquated in the classical Moroccan way from the chandeliers to the Moroccan water fountains and the concierge in the traditional uniform pouring some tea for the guests. The elevators in the are beautiful like nothing you’d see today throughout Europe or North Africa. We looked forward to breakfast at the hotel every morning. There was an abundant selection of fresh food, American favorites and traditional Moroccan Cuisine. Everyone was in high spirits with a great sense of humor which made our stay pleasurable.
I stayed at the Casablanca Sheraton (on 2 occasions during this trip) because I am a Marriott rewards member and the location was where I wanted to be. Not all hotels in the group are created equal... I have had many consistently great stays with Marriott. This was NOT one... Over a month prior to my arrival, after booking the room I started correspondence with reservations and the concierge. The turn around always took days if not longer and never answered my questions. Moreover, despite being asked by them and providing them with my Marriott rewards membership number, they still didn't have it entered into my reservation when I arrived. Since my time was limited I had specific questions about fragrance and soap shops for Omary the 'concierge'. I asked him for specific names and his recommendations. His reply was "Just go to the Medina and ask. You will find many". Unacceptable... Check in was chaotic until Nadia came out from reservations and assisted me. Nadia is single-handedly holding down the fort. Without her presence, the hotel would have fallen into total disarray... She herself deserves 5 stars... However, my review is for the hotel and my collective experiences as a whole... Upon my second visit, I was given a key to an unmade, dirty room with linens thrown all over. When I went back to the front desk, Karima (who checked me in) was shocked to hear what happened as the housekeeping had cleared that room as clean. She did the best she could and even offered me a drink at the hotel bar. However, the damage was already done. When I finally went up to the room and used the shower, I noticed hair (not mine) on the shower wall. I again, talked to Nadia when I went down and brought this to her attention. When I returned to my room later that evening I saw the hair on the wall was now in the corner of my tub... It makes one wonder what kind of job housekeeping does?! In the age of virus awareness in which we live in, the hotel and rooms need to be WELL CLEANED and DISINFECTED! For the exception of Karima, the front desk experience was pretty bad. I asked the gentleman wearing glasses for change of a 100 dirham note and he flatly said "NO"! Staff in both restaurants (for breakfast and lunch) were friendly and generally professional. I liked the traditional Moroccan pancakes and the woman who makes them is super polite. Egg station took a while and my first time there I had to wait for the chef to show up... There is a consistent theme of lack of service, care and attention. Hence, my lackluster experience...…
