The Royal Decameron Tafoukt Beach Hotel garners appreciation for its spotless common areas and strategic location, offering guests easy beach access and pleasant promenade strolls. However, some guests have voiced concerns over room cleanliness and outdated decor. While the vibrant entertainment and welcoming staff are highlights for many, noisy evenings and inconsistent service have marred the experience for others. Travelers are divided on the hotel's value, with some commending the all-inclusive options and others frustrated by overbooking and dining shortfalls.

Overall we enjoyed our stay. The beach was wonderful, the pool was perfect (25m, 72 degrees F, excellent for lap swimming), the staff members were kind and accommodating, the food was delicious (lots of fresh produce at every meal, some great Moroccan fare). This was our first time at an all inclusive resort, so we were not prepared for the level of noise and "animation" -- the music played quite loudly at the pool most of the day and into the night (and was almost entirely in French), which we did not appreciate. We stayed in the 200 building, which faces the pool, so our room was very noisy, plus the other side faced a square where a market was going on that also had very loud music most of the day and night. We asked for a quiet room, but it was by far the loudest room we've ever stayed in. The beds also were very hard, and we ended up sleeping on the day beds in the living room. The area cats were sweet and clean, and the chocolate ice cream and prune tagine were favorites. Also, if water aerobics is up your alley, you can take a "aqua fitnesse / aqua gym" class every afternoon at 3:30pm (though it's quite loud). Bottom line: we enjoyed our stay, but it was much noisier than we would have preferred.

Stayed in Aug 2022 ok the bad and the good.
Good - clean rooms food pretty ok and waiters in the restaurant are excellent. A few broken items in room but nothing to moan about, cable tv very good and room cleaned each day and a good job done.
Bad - entertainment at night is catering for the younger guests and it's so loud that I needed to go into the reception to stop my ears from bursting.
Pool bar staff somewhat under pressure at peak times and a little crumpy on such occasions.
Not enough sun umbrellas and pool can be very busy at peak times.
Although room was cleaned each day the replacement of shower gels did not happen except for the ones on the day I arrived. However I must state the cleaning staff are pretty good.
So the question has to be asked if this is a 4 star or 3 star hotel. My only answer is that it has a lot of potential but to be honest the loudness of the disco and live entertainment is the only 1 factor that will stope from returning. I like entertainment but why does it have to blow your ear drums off. Turn it down guys we can hear you just fine. Location is good right on the main walk way. Beach access to ok however no one there to supervise the hotel section and no hotel staff maintaining their private beach section as a result liter cigarette butts papers everywhere.
This is where this hotel falls short of 4 star. Little things that count.
Would I ce back maybe not as i could see that other hotels for a little bit more have adhered to a truly 4 star status.

If you do not speak French or Arabic you will find it extremely hard to communicate with staff in this hotel. Only a couple of staff speak English and ALL hotel entertainment is in French.

The WiFi only works in the hotel reception so guests spend ALOT of time in this area making it rather busy and at times loud.

The poolside bar has a VERY limited cocktail menu and drinks are served in plastic cups. It was evident the bartenders were overwhelmed with orders during the day and ingredients for cocktails were not fresh.

The rooms were okay but did not quite fit what is pictured online. There is no option to communicate when you would like your room cleaned so its best you catch a cleaner around the hotel and try to communicate this. Our room was not cleaned twice over the 7 days we visited.

I would definitely visit Agadir again however I would not be staying in this hotel nor would I recommend it.

I have rated this Resort as poor for only 1 reason as follows. We are 4 disabled people in their 70's and we had been up for over 30 hrs already. When we arrived at the resort which I had booked 7 months prior, and they knew we were disabled they greeted with you have to move to another resort for 2 nights because we over booked. Disabled people who had booked 7 months prior. No consideration for us at all and no caring. I found out later this a pretty much standard practice. I will relate what the Allegra did to us over there in another review. The staff at the Royal Decameron are Excellent at their own particular jobs. The staff is very friendly and will bend over backwards to help you not so the higher Direction. The air conditioning is not adjustable and is very weak. The cleaning staff are incredible. The animation troope are the best and do everything they can to keep everyone busy and entertained. We can sum up all the staff saying they are way to good to work where they are. Lets talk about the food as is with the very narrow choices it is very good. If this resort wanted to be considered more than a very limited 3 star then they would have ti cater to more tastes and have more variety in their culinary offerings. Some examples would be Sandwiches at noon in the snack bar, hamburgers and hotdogs in the snack bar. Swim up bar, Maids when they make up the rooms they deliver 2 bottles of water to each room everyday. Lets talk about concierge staff who could do a lot more with less effort if the direction would supply them with the necessary golf cart attachable buggies as other resorts including real royal Decameron's we have been to across the world. These carts can also be used to help the older generation to be ferried to points within the resort. These are but a few of the suggestions that would highlight your resort and want want people to go there instead of elsewhere.

We have just returned from a week at this perfect hotel. Location right near the beach. It was peaceful chilled and had an amazing time. Staff were lovely friendly and helpful and with a small tip would give you their all and work so very hard to give you an amazing experience. The animation team work so hard ( we didnt get involved with their activities ) but watched on and they were great. My total experience was in the restraunt. We were looked after and the food was amazing beyond. We are not big eaters but we looked forward to going for food whether a snack or full on dinning at night we were looked after. I cannot fault it at all and i know people will but what we paid we thought it was amazing. Few little tweeks could be added like drinks being served whilst on the beach but we went early on in the season so that may happen. You have everything around you if you want to go out and you feel safe . There are lucky lucky men but they dont harrass you. We have travelled all over the world and after Covid chose a cheap local holiday and it was brilliant. So sad to leave and will definately go back which we rarely do. Weather was so good to. Get booking people im sure you wont be disapointed

I rarely write reviews but this hotel was so bad I felt inclined to warn people away.

We arrived at the hotel on 11/09 for a weeks holiday, only to be immediately informed by the hotel manager they had overbooked 20 rooms, so they didn’t have a room for us and we would be getting shuttled off to a different hotel for the first 3 nights of our trip. We would then be getting sent back to this hotel for the rest of our stay. No apology from the manager for the inconvenience, she infact acted as if she was doing us a favour - not a great start.

The other hotel was okay but seemed like a downgrade from what we had paid for at the time. However once I returned three days later to Royal Decameron I quickly wished I’d been transferred elsewhere permanently!

Once we arrived back we were given a twin room rather than double we had paid for. Staff just shrugged at me when I tried to complain. The room itself was dirty, the shower was so overrun with limescale water barely came out. Flys were everywhere in this hotel including our room, the restraunt and the pool. I know this isn't always controllable however the other hotel we were first put in had 0 flys the entire time, which makes me think it was the hotel. Maybe had something to do with the 10 stray cats randomly wondering the respite. Also found ants in our room one evening to which were then with us for the rest of the trip?!? There seemed to be construction or maintenance going on on the hotel and every morning at around 6am banging and drilling woke us up.

Staff were pretty unpleasant to, seeming to speak good English when we were buying something but no English when ever there was an issue. Certainly seemed if you were French or Moroccon you received better treatment. The entertainment staff were also very rude. Worst case ine of them once grabbed me and my pregnant wife’s arms and refused to let go, trying to drag us over to what ever entertainment he was trying to do!

The food was okay at best sometimes, but most of the time boarderline inedible. Waiters were very slow and almost seemed inconvenienced by us asking for a drink or clean cutlery - and again flys everywhere both inside and outside.

Speaking to other guests a lot of people had had the same issue with over booking and being sent elsewhere and agreed with the issues around cleanliness and noice.

Very disappointing overall, poor experience and genuinely amazed this place is rated 4 star. I’ve stayed in Hostels with better standards than this place!

The hotel is great. Amazing location for walking down the promenade with lots to do outside the hotel.

We arrived late and the lovely man on reception gave us our wrist bands to go grab some food before checking in as we would have missed dinner if we did it the other way round which was much appreciated after a day of travelling.

Upon going in the room which was in the main building the AC and the tv did not work. Which wasn’t great as if we slept with the door open we were awoken multiple times throughout the night due to a club across the street, it could of even been the hotel sports bar as we were right above that.

We did report the TV and AC to reception and were advised someone would come and take a look but this didn’t happen unfortunately.

We didnt sleep through a whole night for the 7 nights we were there which wasn’t a great experience as we weren’t waking up feeling refreshed.

Other than this issue the room itself was great, the bedroom was large and there was a second room with the TV in there which was a good size too (this room also had a sofa bed). The bathroom is a good size and you also got some toiletries provided.

The pool area was lovely and more than enough sunbeds to go around, the animation team put on entertainment throughout the day which was great.

The all inclusive includes all your drinks which is fab as i know sometimes you have to pay extra for certain drinks. The restaurant is not great if you are a picky eater like myself, we only ate there 3 of the 7 nights. Lunch was fab everyday and there is the snack bar 11am-5pm. If you are picky there is lots of restaurants down the promenade (McDonald’s across the road as well)

During the world cup the hotel even got the English commentary for us Brits 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿

Thanks for a lovely stay!

As hard as I try, I can't find anything negative to say about my stay here. I have a beautiful spotless room overlooking the sea which is cleaned daily to a high standard, with fresh towels every day. Food is excellent, different choices everyday. Hot food is hot, salads cold and fresh and beautiful cakes and soups. All the staff, whether it be the sweet young cleaners, the waiters or the Animation team, are always smiling and go out of their way to help. There were a few young children and the young team were always cuddling and playing with them. They had time to talk to everyone and somehow remembered what you told them yesterday. Yes, there are a few cats wandering around the complex and dining room. However, they are all owned by the hotel, wear flea collars and are fed regular meals in their own bowls. So they come and say hello (seem to sense who likes cats), sit on the sunbed to keep it warm for you and get a head scratch, BUT they never beg for food or harass you. Same with the tortoises who love the hibiscus flowers.
Animation work very hard to make sure there is something for everyone, mornings, afternoons and evenings and all announcements in perfect French and English.
I have travelled extensively for more than 55 years and this is easily one of the nicest hotel experiences I have ever had.

Mixed opinion on our stays with our friends
Positive points: cleanliness of the gardens, facing the ocean, the promenade and the shops
Decent catering, be careful to make the right choice on the rooms (we had a sea view), quiet, deckchairs available, staff ensuring impeccable cleanliness...
But …
Negative points :
The bathrooms are dilapidated and need to be renovated as quickly as possible, big problem having hot water at the end of the day, it took 4 days to resolve the problem...
Fram Team…
Basma the manager: friendliness to see again, barely pleasant for listening to our problems, it seems that she was on the way out (fortunately)
A very very average entertainment team, almost non-existent, absolutely not united, on the other hand excellent dancer but it was not our priority despite some lovely shows!

In short, a very average quality ratio, a hotel which plays on its location by the sea which must react quickly (like a certain number of establishments in Agadir) as well as the management of the entertainment staff...

My wife and I went here for our honeymoon. The location is fantastic with everything you need within a 5 minute walk. The staff where incredible from start to finish, they even upgraded our room when they realised we where on our honeymoon. Rooms cleaned daily to a very high standard, pool side constantly being cleaned throughout the day and same with the restaurant. Would like to say a massive thanks to Muhammad (momo) at reception for looking after us, keep up the great customer care 😁. The cleaner Fatima was honestly the loveliest woman throughout, she was so happy and always made the effort to greet us breakfast and lunch while on shift. Entertainment team, Oussama, Ismail,Omar Sooki and the rest of the team where a credit to the hotel. Always took the time to speak with us, drag us up for a dance or a game of some sort 😊 very caring and kind, really made our time at the resort very welcoming. Chris and Pamela will be back 😁
Would definitely recommend

Hi Vanessa. I have been to Agadir many times. The temperatures you can expect for March would be around 20 D. Now with climate change it could be warmer. The mornings are usually overcast, and the evening chilly. Between 12 noon and 4 p.m. you will be able to take the sun around the pool and the beach. Wishing you a lovely holiday.
