You need to try the 'canard' at the Chinese restaurant in this hotel. it iiiisss sooo delicious. It not just about the food, take time to feel the Chinese culture as presented through the deco. The gentle man the attended to us was just so nice. Bravo
The best place in Algiers to have your drink at the lovely terrasse, full of history. Service is quick and welcoming. Staff s helpful and English speaking. I do recommend if you enjoy the mix of modernity and ancient Arabic style.
It's past 3:00 am. I'm on the 4th floor (the top), but the disco downstairs is booming so loud that I can't even watch a YouTube video because it's drowned out. During the week, this is a charming hotel, but on Thursday and Friday nights, it's a horror. And yes, because I've stayed here several times (no choice--business makes me), I do bring ear plugs. They can't stand up to the noise. Unbelievable. Unfortunately, the noise issue (and to be clear--this isn't a neighbor. The hotel runs the disco!) ruins what would otherwise be a very nice experience.
It could be a fantastic hotel just needs to shake off the Fawlty Towers image. If, when tourism kicks off here this hotel given a make over will be the leading hotel in the city. For now there are too many for me to give this hotel a higher rating. If you want nostalgia and are prepared to put up with the negatives then this place is a must for you. Be aware Thursday night is night club night and you won't want a room anyway near. Don't opt for the left hand lift it doesn't do up unless it is called from a floor above. Despite all the amazing history of this hotel, it needs to drag itself up. If one is being generous it is a so so 2* in my opinion, when it could be a mind boggling 5*.
A really nice property, very well decorated and full of history, we stopped her for coffee, they have pictures of all the celebrities (past and present) that stayed at the hotel, Nice area outside for coffee, but be careful from the mosquitos.
