actually i visited alot of hotels in alger and adghir grand hotel was one of the most amazing hotels , very clean hotel , and friendly team , serving with passion , and supportive with endless proffisionality
I chose this hotel because it was near the airport plus naive I thought to be able to swim there. But the water did not look attractive, not the beach so much either, full of people too. The room was reasonable, clean, with the fridge. But the A / C did not work so very well and made noise plus heated glazed balcony so I could not sit on the balcony, it was hot anyway. The bed was really nice so you slept well. The wifi did not work in the room even though they promised it should. I had to sit at the desk to pick me up. The breakfast however was quite bad, you did not have to choose between tea and coffee, you only got coffee. There was no bread, just sweet cakes that I did not like to have for breakfast. Bagett was there first day but not the other 2 days, overall we were there for 3 nights. No butter, just marmalade and honey. Staff was good and nice, helpful also.…
I was travelling to Hassi Messaoud, but my flight was delayed 12 hours due to bad weather. Air Algerie booked us in that hotel. And boy! What a hotel it was! The airport shuttle should have been a warning. A small bus with no room for luggage and an unfriendly and rude driver who tried to “pile” 25 people with their luggage inside the bus, even calling one of the people there (a Turkish young man) “H’mar” (an idiot). As soon as we arrived we were met by the most careless, rude, poorly trained receptionists I have ever seen my entire life! They looked like street thugs: three days beards, greasy hair, sweaty, raggedy clothes (no uniform), one of them smelled so bad I could not even talk to him. The reception was suffocating! Hot, smelly, no AC, with strong smokes and smells coming out of the kitchen. And don’t get me started on the hideous decoration and those terrible red armchairs! What a joke! No taste whatsoever. After 30 minutes of the receptionists not being helpful at all, we were “sent” to the restaurant for dinner. The place was a mess. It was hot and dirty. The table clothes were greasy and looked like they haven’t been washed for a while. The waiters were extremely unfriendly. They didn’t speak to anyone! They made us all feel unwelcomed. Same as the receptionist, their appearances were unkempt and manners thug-like. But that’s not even the problem with the restaurant! We had no choice of drink, there were bottles of Coca Cola and Fanta on the table with a warm bottle of mineral water, and that’s it. If you don’t like it just stay thirsty. Worse, we couldn’t choose our food either. There were no salads, no entries, just a dish with over cooked meat and some old burnt French fries. The dish I was served consisted of an overcooked chicken thigh with fries. It was bland, and had the consistency of cardboard. The kitchen staff were noisy, we could hear them yelling and laughing from the dining room. Worst dinner service ever. That sad excuse for a restaurant reminded me of my army days, except the army accommodation were cleaner. After the “meal” we went back to the reception were the thug serving as receptionist told us that were giving us double rooms as it was all they had, he said, despite the fact that his colleague told us they were single rooms available… twice. They gave me a keycard, and I went upstairs to my room, the key card didn’t work, so I went back to the reception where the manager scolded me “there is nothing wrong with the keycard or the door lock. It’s you, you don’t know how to use a keycard”. They gave me another room. Latter I heard a knock on the door. A man was standing outside telling me it was also his room. They put two people in each double room! I ended up spending the night in the same room with a complete stranger, someone I have never seen before. The room was dusty and smelled really bad. The fridge was empty and wasn’t even working. The bathtub was rusty, the toilet seat broken, the hair dryer an electrical hazard, the sink clogged, the shower curtain dirty and the whole bathroom smelled of chemical detergents. There were cigarette burns on the linen and some really freaky stains, they were washed but you could see they put no effort in removing the stains. In the morning we couldn’t have breakfast because: “the person in charge hasn’t arrived yet”. I’m glad I didn’t pay for that hotel (Air Algerie did), because it’s really bad! It’s terrible! The worst hotel I’ve ever stayed in, and I’ve seen many hotels in 15 years in the oil industry. There could be some improvement, the cleanliness could be improved, the hideous décor could be changed, but the attitude cannot be fixed. The worst problem of this hotel is its employees. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel to my worst enemy. Shame, shame on you Adghir!!!…
Location far out of Algiers and needed a Taxi ti get almost anywhere, The tram was abit too far, I had to accompany my Friend to the tram stop and we took about 20 minutes. For a 4 star Hotel it has no Wifi in the rooms, but Ifailed to get connected to the Wifi in the Lobby, since i install internet in small buisnesses, I wondered even how they could not even give me teh correct password
i have called the hotel to check on my reservation now, and the Receptionist said that he can't help and i have to call tomorrow, what a first impression, the management have to correct the attitude of their staff, even when i asked about his name he refuse to provide me with his name and hang up the phone
