Location was great. Within walking distance to a Metro station. Room was comfortable and the bathroom was good and clean. Sameer at the front desk was very helpful in suggesting places to visit around Algiers The aircond was not cold at all. WiFi was not able to reach 3rd floor room but available and very strong in lobby
This hotel is clean, with large rooms in a very central location. The staff were really friendly and helpful, especially Sam who was welcoming and great with practicalities - even showing us a place for lunch when we had just arrived in Algeria and didn't know our way around. Sam was also incredible when I had an allergic reaction - so reassuring and helpful, we couldn't have asked for anyone better! Definitely a good place to stay and explore this interesting city.
My trip started off bad, after having left a cheaper hotel that was also cheaper quality. After that experience, which lasted a couple nights, I assumed that the next hotel would probably be the same. Thankfully, I was mistaken. This hotel improved my trip. Hotel staff are kind and very helpful. Hotel interior is modern & very nice. Housecleaning staff took good care of my room. The amenities listed on Booking.com are there, including an elevator. The bathroom interior was modern & very nice, and the shower water was always perfect temperature. No water shortages, no electricity breaks. Fair to good WiFi connection inside the hotel and within my room. My bed was somewhat uncomfortable, in part due to my own pain issues, but the bed was clean and the blanket & sheets warm. The hotel is centrally located and on a busy thoroughfare, and it’s quiet at night. There isn’t a great view from the balcony, but it’s nice to have one to view the street below or just people-watch in general. Staying here made a bumpy trip, a little less bumpy. I recommend it, and I’d stay here again.…
A decent small hotel, close to Agha rail station and about halfway between the old city and the botanic garden. The hotel overlooks an animated street but the rooms are quite well insulated against noise, at least on the top (4th) floor. Rooms are modern, clean and adequately comfortable. WiFi is a bit slow. The breakfast is fairly basic.
Stayed from 18-21 January 2019. This hotel is clean and very well located. Close to transportation and restaurants. The staff make this place even better. Super friendly, very helpful. Thanks for a great stay!
Excellent location, super friendly staff and fast communication. Anyone should feel comfortable here.Easy access to all city centre destinations. Front street sidewalk could be better. Very close to old downtown and old kasbabh, key destinations. Breakfast is better than nearby places. Lounge Tv is good to watch any games. Rooms are very clean.
We stayed for 3 nights at the City Hotel whilst on holiday in Algiers. The hotels location is excellent and is its main positive - really central, about 5 minutes walk to the metro and walkable to the Grand Post and central Algiers. It is on a main road, so lots of amenities nearby and always easy to get a taxi. Staff are really helpful, always welcoming and friendly and happy to give recommendations for things to do and restaurants etc. It really felt like they wanted us to enjoy our stay in their city, which was lovely. Rooms are fine, good size, ok cleanliness, good internet (if sometimes slow), nice shower. Air con wasn’t the coldest but did always work. Personally we wouldn’t recommend breakfast as you can easily pick up similar from nearby for a fraction of the cost, but it’s fine if you’re in a rush - pastries, cereal, yoghurts, juice, coffee etc. Overall we would definitely recommend staying here whilst in Algiers.…
The hotel is located 5 minutes from the The Grande Poste. The rooms are spotless and modern with well functioning A/C and comfortable beds. Bathroom is large and modern. Staff in the hotel is welcoming, friendly and amazingly helpful, available 24/7. Definitely stay again when coming back.
We booked a twin room and a double room and both were very clean with all the amenities you would expect. The staff are extremely friendly and speak good English. They organised taxi rides within the city for us and a tour of Casbah too. The breakfast is 700 DZD and you fill up nicely on what there is. A very pleasant, simple and welcoming hotel in a central location. We would definitely stay again here.
Firstly, you don't have much choice in Algiers if you wish to book ahead, you either bite the bullet and wait until you get there or book in advance. I found City Hotel via booking.com and to be fair there wasn't much competition, except the big 5* chain brands. I wasn't really looking for that so this 3* was perfect. I stayed two nights on two different days, so I was given alternative rooms each time. Both were absolutely fine although the first one faced the back of the hotel and was quiet, the second was down the size street and was bustling and loud for most of the evening. The rooms are modern, clean, featuring a comfy bed and with pretty good wifi. I didn't take breakfast but there's plenty of nice French patisseries nearby if you head towards the Casbah area. Although the prices are aimed at a specific market it is still good value for money and I would definitely stay here again. I'd like to thank the reception team and manager who made me feel very welcome and at home in Algiers, they were always pleasant and available to help if required. …
