Considering this is an older hotel on campus it's fair to rate average with the price we did get to stay. Staff was mostly the university students, water was warm, bed was comfy and newer looking, a/c worked, toilet flushes, and it's on campus. It's not the 4/5 star you want it to be but it was good for the... More

I booked a room here because I had a work trip to ISU. For travelers visiting the university, this is a great location as it is right on campus. The room itself is very small and is quite a throwback (e.g., a 2-faucet sink --one for hot and one for cold water). Definitely nothing fancy but for $80++ per night,... More

Such a disappointment. Really tried hard to like this place since I stayed here when I went to school here, but it was just an awful experience. A university which has a Hotel and Restaurant management program, should try to apply at least some of knowledge here. Staff working the desk were very pleasant but helpless to fix issues. During... This place has so much going for it that I tried my very best to love staying there. The many good things, as mentioned in other reviews: location. This is such a prime spot to so many things on campus. We were in town for a track meet and it was a pleasant 10 minute walk from our room to... More

Right on campus, with adjoining parking ramp, free parking for guests. The lobby is on the second floor of the Memorial Union, with guest rooms on the 2 top floors. Access to the guest rooms requires a key for the elevator, so the space feels very secure. We had 2 rooms, mine facing the street and the other facing the... More

Start off by realizing that this is a very old hotel located within the Union on the Iowa State campus. Knowing that, we were quite pleased with our room and the staff. We booked one of the "suites" which was perfect. Soaring ceilings. Great view of the main campus and bell tower. Spacious. Two full-sized beds, which works better for... More

Just brought back some memories staying at the MU hotel. There is NOTHING this close to the campus, AND your parking is validated for the entire stay. The rooms are modest and haven't been updated in some time (although they've added flat screen TVs since my undergrad days, albeit small ones), but it was everything we needed and cheap (~$80).... The MU hotel is right on campus. Great location when visiting a student. Walking distance to everything on campus and campus town (pubs and restaraunts). Free parking in the ramp (with validation). Free breakfast and very good. Now the other stuff. Room is "historic" which means small. Needs updating. Mismatched furniture, paint peeling from window casement. It was nice to... More

This hotel is on the campus of Iowa State University, and is very convenient if you have university business. The building is quite old, and some of the fixtures such as the antique doorknobs, and tile in the bathroom are charming. Another positive is that the front desk staff is extremely friendly and helpful. However, the following inconveniences led me... More

Recommended by an ISU grad.......and maybe thats the only folks that should stay here. I was on the sixth floor facing away from campus right next to the ice machine and the elevators. Guess they knew I was a Jayhawk. Oh well, it was close to my meeting on campus and the room was clean. Just like my Jayhawks I... More
