This place is warm and comfortable with a breakfast to put a big smile on your face. Couldn't be better. Middle Amana is situated between the most amazing Lilly pond - must be 40 acres - and a wildlife wetland area. A great base to explore the Amana communities from.

We had a wonderful experience here during our recent trip the the Amana Colonies. Our host was helpful, the room was comfortable and clean, and the food was good! We visited during early March, so some of the Amana attractions weren't fully functioning, but we will definitely stay here again when we return.

First of all, disregard any reviews before 2011, current owner Mike & Kathy bought the place in 2010. You will see all positive reviews since then. We booked all three rooms upstairs for our daughters graduation weekend from the University of Iowa. There is a large common area that we were able to use to play games together in the...

Based on prior negative evaluations I was hesitant to book a room at Dusk to Dawn B&B. The reality is ownership changed in 2010 and the Schmid’s totally turned things around. Kathy is a most gracious and engaging host. She is very attentive to details and went the extra mile by providing foods conducive to a type 2 diabetes diet....

This was our first time in a b and b ever and the experience was wonderful! The owner, Kathy, was so hospitable. The breakfasts were amazing. Food was hot, tasty, and presented so beautifully. I had asked the friends we were with if every b and b was this nice and they assured me they had been in some bad...

This is my second time to Amana with another group of friends, and I came back knowing I would be booking with Kathy at Dusk to Dawn B&B. We had the cottage that contained 4 bedrooms and dining area all to ourselves! The place was very clean, and the breakfast was plentiful, consisting of hot out of the oven breakfast casseroles,...

I just returned from a 2 day trip to Amana. One of the highlights of the trip was my stay at the Dusk to Dawn B&B. Kathy is a knowledgeable and gracious hostess; she called me on my cell phone because she was worreid that I was stuck in some local construction traffic. My room was very clean & the...

We booked a room for three nights as we had never been to Amana and figured it would be a relaxing way to spend a little time. Wrong! Amana is best visited on the way to somewhere else, it really isn't a destination vacation. That said, we were equally disappointed with this B&B. The "cottage" as it is called is...

This was not a comfortable place to stay. The beds are old and uncomfortable, the bedding was old, ugly, and scratchy and there wasn't a single chair in our room. They boast cable tv but the TV is so small, the reception was fuzzy and there wasn't a chair to sit in to watch the TV. If you own a...

We paid for (2) nights, but only spent one. The room was dusty and the bed felt like it was going to break. I think we stayed in a converted garage.
