We are Iowans so were thrilled to have this getaway so close. It's VERY COOL - a historic woolen mill in the heart of the village that's been restored in a way that makes it a smashingly beautiful place. Very attentive staff! We loved the Electric Thread bar and the breakfast was simply outstanding -- Amana ham grilled with a huge omelet! Plus homebaked muffins and excellent coffee. Comfy beds, pristine bath and accommodations - very spare, elegant layout. Plus lots of nifty little artifacts from its mill days - and hey, the mill still operates just next door where the looms are weaving!!!! Very very cool gift shop where they sell their mill blankets, tote bags, etc. We dropped cash in this cool shop.

We stayed at Hotel Millwright for two nights to attend our granddaughter's wedding in The Loft From the availability to check in early to beat a winter storm to checkout, it was a smooth adventure. All staff was positive and helpful. Rooms are huge and nicely decorated. The ease of having the wedding, reception and stay all in the same location was a plus in winter conditions. Enjoy all parts of the 2 day adventure and highly recommend Hotel Millwright.

The Hotel Millwright provides the unique experience of offering lodging, with modern amenities, inside what feels like a small museum. The renovation of this historic textile mill complex is top-notch and provided us a beautiful, clean, tranquil, and very comfortable place to stay for a romantic getaway. The location is right next to the Amana Woolen Mill (Iowa’s only remaining textile mill), and within a short walking distance of all the other local major attractions, to include dining and shopping. Dave (at the front desk) and the rest of the staff were also very friendly and helpful. Highly recommend staying at the Hotel Millwright for those that want to explore the Amana Colonies and stay a night or two.

We held our wedding ceremony & reception at the Hotel Millwright. We rented two suites. Family & friends also rented rooms. We heard nothing but positive things about the hotel. The suites were large with a kitchen, living room, and very comfortable beds. The Merino Loft is a unique and beautiful place to hold a wedding reception. The food was excellent and plentiful. Lucas was great to work with and made sure the evening was wonderful with no unpleasant surprises. Also a thanks to Nicole, Dane, & Kevin. Everyone worked very hard to make the night special and memorable.
