A Quality Inn is not a fancy place by design and a person should know that at the time of booking. The good news outweighs the bad. The room was clean and surprisingly quiet for being on the highway side of the motel. The staff and procedures all follow the latest in COVID guidelines. The bad news is the hallways and elevator need cleaning, about to the quality of a 2-star motel. Just even a decent vacuum pass would improve the public areas.

Large, clean room. Breakfast buffet includes some sausage, eggs, and waffles, so not just pastries. Indoor pool just off lobby. Golden Corral restaurant a quick walk away.
Hotel is just south of I-69 on Route 109. Access only from southbound lanes, and signs are small and a bit hard to see at night and not that close to hotel. You have to take a longer, winding driveway. Ditto for exit from hotel -- southbound only, so you have to do a u-turn to head to Anderson. I would not try to find this at night without a map system on your I-phone.

I probably should have rated this property a three but due to the response of staff to a few problems, I increased it to a four. I booked an accessible, no smoking room as I am over 60, was traveling alone and have a history of falls so feel safer with hand rails on the tub and other features. When I first went to the room, the first thing I noticed was a gap between the room door and molding big enough to see inside the room without opening the door. Not a big problem I guess, unless there was a fire. While in the bathroom, I heard a noise and upon checking saw that the door that led to the adjoining room was open. I tried to close and lock it, but the lock did not work on my side. You would think that in an accessible room occupied by the elderly or handicapped, that more security measures would be in place. I went to the front desk and requested another room. She insisted on trying it herself but she could not lock it either. She said someone could fix it the next day, but I still felt safer to be moved to another room. She at first said she did not have another room, then found one but since it had an adjoining room, she said she could move me elsewhere but not an accessible room. I was fine with that at that point. The noise from the highway and bright light outside of the window advertising the casino made it difficult to sleep, but I finally dozed off around 1:30 am. Around 2:00, I heard a loud chipping noise coming from the smoke detector because it had a low battery. I called the desk and the clerk arrived about 10 minutes later to change the battery. Breakfast was good and I was looking forward to soaking in the whirlpool that I had seen people in the night before. Some problems were created by renovations that I knew about before booking this room, but it sounded like they were almost completed based on prior reviews so I took my chances. I heard loud hammering near by so a nap was out. By the time I went down to go to the casino, painters were working in the lobby and hallways and the whirlpool was torn out. So much for that idea. Prior to leaving the bedside lamp would not turn on. I seldom have problems when staying at a Choice Hotel and may return when renovations are complete, simply because the staff did the best they could to take care of situations I encountered during my stay.

The Good: lower cost
The Bad: 20% up charge for walk in, room smells of smoke, beat up, tiny pillows, hard to find
So the power is out on a hot summer night what’s a fellow to do. Take the family to a cheerful local hotel. A quick search and phone call gives us a great rate only 20 minutes away. Score!
Finding the hotel itself takes a little work since it’s hidden behind hotels and restaurants with no direct route. Then we are told that the rate for normal folks is 20% higher than shown on google. We preserve.
Arriving in the room we find a smell of smoke a knock in the wall and an odd smear in the shower. The pillows seem to be 1/4 the size of normal pillows and flatten as if hollow. Horray!

Dear RoadLessTraveller, Thank you for taking the time to write such a detailed review. Our rates online do have discounts available for pre-bookings, therefore most guests save by booking online. The knock in the wall is from the security latch, repairing that area will create a larger patch and will break with spackle applied there. The smear in the shower seems like it is some hard adhesive for the old shower rods, our housekeepers thoroughly clean our rooms and are inspected after the cleaning has finished. Last, the pillows are regular-sized, we do an envelope tuck in them which will make them “look” smaller but are actually regular size. Thank you for the detailed inspection of the room, we will pass your concerns onto our maintenance department to see if we can find a method to remove the hard adhesives. If you don't want to spend a fortune but still expect cleanliness and great hospitality, this is the hotel to choose. For starters, the breakfast is actually very good. The beds are very comfortable and this is probably the cleanest hotel in town. I will admit that the location isn't the greatest, especially if you're not familiar with the area, that aside, I have no complaints. The staff treats you like family and is very proactive about any concerns you bring to their attention. As soon as you walk through the door you're always greeted with a smile! Nicole, the head house keeper, does a fantastic job making sure the rooms are above guest standards. The Managers are very friendly and work right along side other staff members! This hotel is the definition of great hospitality!

This is a great hotel, better than other higher priced properties in the area. Hotel is very modern; everything is in excellent condition. Breakfast is very good for a budget friendly hotel, eggs, meat, waffles, pastries, cereal, fruit. All the staff are great, always willing to help. I had made a mistake on my reservation, Chris D. went out of his way to get everything fixed, called me at home afterward to let me know the change in rates were finalized. I would stay here every time I am in the area.

We stay here on our drive from Canada to Tucson and back. We love the spacious room with the separate seating area. The breakfast is great also!. An added feature is that a Golden Corral is right next door and we don’t have one in Canada.

There was no one in the lobby when we walked in and then the front desk clerk tried to check us in and after 15 minutes he asked us to wait and went to get the manager Roy. They had to refresh the internet page, restart the program and then restart the computer. 25 minutes iof waiting we asked just to cancel and go somewhere else. He said no cancel. We waited another 10 minutes. Over 35 minutes of waiting and paid $250 for one night which is normally $89 per night. We asked for some discount for the inconvenience and he said corporate won’t let them and I told him then why are you a manager. They gave us a room next to the elevator too! Room was not clean - see photos.

Checked in 2/11/23. Got a suite with hot tun on ground floor. Our window did not lock and we were in the back of the hotel and did not feel secure. Other suite was booked so couldn't move but they didn't try to provide any solutions to secure window. Hot tub wouldn't come on and desk clerk was extremely rude to us. Finally got it working but had to reset the plug in many times. The hot tub platform was in bad shape and needed repair.

The staff was very friendly, The pool was clean and easy to use especialy the hot tub.
