Our stay at the Homewood Suites in Naperville was absolutely horrible. We were visiting family in the area and my sister had a separate reservation also. She checked in and warned us of what we were walking into. However, the location of this hotel was necessary for the event. Upon arrival around 11:30 on a Thursday night, the employee that checked us in, Darius was extremely unprofessional. He was on his personal cell phone and not behind the desk. This should have been enough to turn around, however, we were traveling with a newborn. I booked a King studio so that we could co-sleep with our newborn and have access to a pull-out couch. After my son showered for bed, something told me to check the sheets and quilts that were already on the pull-out. There were crumbs and hair and the bed was clearly dirty. My husband and I were pissed but we were all tired after driving with a newborn for hours. He went to change the sheets with the extra in the closet. Those sheets were also extremely dirty. The next morning we complained and the employee working immediately upgraded us to a King Suite. This room was a lot cleaner and smelled clean. However, there were a bunch of scuff marks on the wall. The wash cloths and towels all need to be thrown away because every one of them were dingy. Some had small hairs. My sister's experience was even worse. I'm thankful that we really only needed someplace to lay our heads and that we didn't have to be in the hotel for most of the day. Besides the issue with the rooms, the hotel was extremely out of date. There was a switch in the room that didn't turn anything on. My husband is an electrician and he said that it should have been covered up. The vents in the hallway had dust packed on them. I'm curious now if there was mold in the hotel. I needed to warm bottles at night but the coffee machine was broken and would leak water. The first room we were in had a dirty microwave. My son wanted to use the pool, but after seeing the rooms I didn't want to chance it. I was thoroughly disssapointed with the stay, to stay the least. My husband made sure to respectfully make the manager Kristina aware of our complaints. She was the able to refund 2 of the 4 nights that we stayed. I am use to Homewood being updated and very nice. This was the complete opposite. We definitely will not be returning to this hotel and I'll have to do more thorough research before booking a Homewood ever again.…
We stayed in a king suite and it was laid out very nice with a full kitchen. If we would have wanted to cook in it that would have been easily able to do. The rooms were very clean and nice. There is a large lobby area for resting or eating breakfast. The staff was very welcoming.
My first impression of the room? It had the refreshing hint of mold and death that carried from the hallway which made me happy as I realized at least I didn't have the Rona. I was also intrigued by the fact I could date the microwave to the Ming Dynasty so kudos to my archaeological skills while the kitchen decor wanted to party like it was 1989. The desk was nice. When turning on the TV I saw they were using DirecTV in keeping with the early 1990's theme but hey when it went out like DirecTV usually does i had the next door neighbor's conversations I could hear through the bathroom vent to keep me entertained. Why yes Ty I think she is cheating on you. ..let her go. Housekeeping was light due to Rona in fact it was so light they completely skipped the two full trash cans that had been sitting in my room for three days..but hey they made the bed! Amenities? The pool was open and the back patio really is lovely. No passive aggressiveness here it really is a thing of beauty. Well done! The laundry room was overused by the guests and utterly ignored by the staff 3 machines in a hotel with this many people is just a grotesquely bad idea. There was a pile of clothes left on the counter in the laundry room for days untouched but the free leftover soaps, fabric softeners and dryer sheets were scooped up right fast...except for the dried remnants crusted on the washers on the one day I managed to get laundry done because I made the effort to get up at 4am just to do laundry. I'm a Hilton Diamond member and this hotel made me switch to Hyatt for life. The front desk staff was nice but the entire hotel in and of itself needs serious work,...and what is this brown sticky stuff on the ironing board?…
Meet my girlfriend and we had fun and relaxing time on your property. We typically stay at a Hampton Inn but chose to say at a nicer place this time. What an experience! Nice room friendly people and excellent service! We will be back for sure.
Visited Aurora on business and the Homewood Suites made my stay enjoyable, comfortable and productive. Clean facility, quiet atmosphere, spacious room, friendly staff and tasty meals. Comfortable bed, desk and couch accommodated all my needs, and although I did not use it, the kitchen area would be great for longer stays.
