Our grandchildren, children, their spouses and my husband and I took over the Dragonfly B & B for a family ski weekend and Sheri couldn't have been a more gracious and accommodating hostess! The B&B was beautifully decorated and the breakfasts - including mouth-watering homemade pastries - were amazing! Sheri also gave us wonderful recommendations for family-friendly area restaurants. In addition to the welcoming plates of homemade peanut butter cookies in all of our rooms (delicious!), Sheri let us know she was excited to have children in her home. She took the time to answer all of their questions (and ours) about the beautiful antiques in her home, and was anxious to share stories about the generations of family photos that decorated the walls. She also provided our grandchildren with an array of games and colored pencils. She even graciously allowed us to take a family photo wearing antique hats from her living room hat stand! Our grandchildren enjoyed her company immensely! To top it off, Sheri even mailed to me a washed sock one of our grandchildren had left behind! We highly recommend the Dragonfly B&B!

My husband and I spent one night at this Victorian house in delightful Antioch, IL. We were greeted by the super friendly owner Sheri, when we arrived. She showed us around and took us to our room, we stayed in the Daffodil. It was adorable and the bed was very comfy. There were peanut butter cookies waiting for us in our room. We enjoyed dinner in town. There are lots of options for dining and cute shops in the quaint downtown. There was one other couple staying when we did and we enjoyed their company over our delicious breakfast. The homemade blueberry pancakes were awesome! We had raspberry pastries with our coffee and Canadian bacon with the pancakes. Our entire stay was wonderful. Next time we are in the area we will definitely be booking the Dragonfly again!

Sherri was a wonderful host for my overnight stay at her home. She greeted me at the front door and quickly asked me if I had been vaccinated and I said yes and showed her proof. She was friendly and went above and beyond to make my stay memorable. She provided great tips on good restaurants and ways to enjoy the small town of Antioch! The bed I stayed in was so comfortable I enjoyed the best night of sleep in 4 months. She was a very interesting and humble lady who shared parts of her life with me. We engaged in very meaningful conversation while she made an excellent breakfast which was delicious. She helped me to get online so I could make a personal Zoom meeting and even saved my breakfast so I could finish my meeting without interruption. I WILL stay here again in the future and highly recommend it to others!!!

Stayed here for 3 nights with my boyfriend. Everything was great! The breakfast was incredible, and Sheri is incredibly nice and accommodating. There was a plate of brownies waiting for us in our room, and one night she even had a fire going for us so we could make s'mores. Only a couple minutes walk from downtown Antioch, too! The house is beautifully decorated.

Came in from out of state for a wedding with several people and this place was perfect. Everything we could want was available, an amazing breakfast was made in the morning, and the owner was the nicest person. I hope to be in the area again just to come back.

The owner, Sheri Gronert, has done a wonderful job of decorating this nice old home, and everything is kept very fresh and well maintained. The four bedrooms are all on the second floor. Only one -- with a king bed -- has an en-suite bath (with tub); the other three share a good-sized bathroom (with shower only, but a nice, updated one). My husband and I stayed in the Geranium Room last night for our anniversary, and although that room is assigned to the shared bathroom, due to the winter season and a heavy snowfall we had the upstairs to ourselves. We spent a very pleasant evening playing billiards and watching TV in the main part of the house downstairs...Both of us agreed that Sheri is a first-class hostess, friendly and forthcoming but never intrusive. She's also an excellent cook, to the point where I think my husband has said enough already about the pancakes being the best he's ever had. The home-baked cookies and wine and cheese that greeted our arrival were all nice extra notes of hospitality.

Quaint old Victorian in the heart of Antioch where brownies await your arrival. You can easily walk to David’s Bistro for a great meal or check out Sweet Discoveries. The website photos are accurate although it doesn’t mention that 3 of the rooms share a bathroom. Only the Harbor Suite has an en suite. However, that’s something you have to take into consideration when booking a B & B. They are all different, and that’s part of the joy and charm. The Daffodil room faced the street and reminded me of my grandparents’ home. I would fall asleep to the traffic as we didn’t hear or see many cars growing up on a farm. If noise bothers you, the Geranium is located at the back of the house. The Daffodil Room does not have a desk to apply makeup or work with a laptop. However, the common bathroom has plenty of counter space and 1200 pima cotton, thick, soft towels. The shower needs to be recaulked. The heating and air conditioning is centrally controlled. It was too warm in my room so with a little struggle, I was able to get the window open. The bed and pillows are very comfortable. Sheri serves a scrumptious breakfast. There was some kind of ricotta and egg dish from Ina Garten’s recipes, turkey sausages, home fried potatoes, poppyseed muffin, orange juice, and coffee served in china cups. You won’t go hungry. There is a common room for watching TV, a big porch to hang out on and play games, pool table, and great deck and backyard. It was too early in the season for any flowers, but I’m sure it’s lovely. What wasn’t lovely were guests who decided to come in late after the bar closed and were arguing outside. Sheri offered a discount on my next visit.
