I was really impressed with this little motel. I was taking a weekend trip with my daughter to visit Yellowstone and we stayed at the Rankin for a night on the way. Very pet friendly, with owners that have dogs themselves. My dogs (2 pug tzu's) loved it. Nice large grassy areas, mostly hard flooring but with plenty of rugs... More

This is an older motel with dated but clean rooms. It has a mini fridge and coffee maker, WiFi but no breakfast. 50 miles down the road hotels are $200-400 and here is 75. It's a good base for yellowstone. I stayed here 1 night so I could get to yellowstone in the am to get a campsite. The best... More

We arrived to Ashton late at night and were welcomed and greeted warmly to this motel. The rooms are in semi specious cabins that are nice and clean with furniture and good AC. There's no breakfast included which would have been nice given the price. That said though, there's a place just down the road called Sunrise Cafe that makes... More

This is a great place to stay if you're going to Yellowstone. Its about 50 miles from West Yellowstone MT. Close enough to enjoy the park, far enough away to be very affordable. We stayed here for one night and enjoyed it. If you get a cabin you'll be staying in a well maintained older cabin. We chose a two... More

We booked 2 motel rooms with 2 queen beds, the ambiance of the place and environment was just perfect for family and kids to feel homely enough. Also a supermarket is just next to door and that is another free perk. Other than the distance of 50 miles from Yellowstone , we had a wonderful stay and fun. Housekeeping was... More

We stayed in a small one bedroom cottage with parking directly outside. Old fashioned but that was the charm of it. Very helpful girl running it on behalf of in-laws we believe. Welcome break between Yellowstone and Bear World

We have stayed in budget motels before that we've paid roughly the same price for, but they were nicer. It is severely outdated. The place has been around since the early 1920's and has been renovated since then, but the decor looks like it is from the 60's (at least the room we stayed in). The only really updated thing... We regret you weren’t comfortable at the Rankin. Our family has been in the hospitality business for quite a few years. We learn a lot from our customers. Every year we greet many wonderful travelers. The rooms at the Rankin definitely identify an era. When you stay with us, you can plan on a walk down memory lane. Regardless of... More

We were driving south from Yellowstone on a Sunday, hubby hates listening to the football game on the radio, so we checked in so he could watch the game. I was thrilled to find the room(s) clean, and cozy. A walk to the grocery store next door and microwave dinner was on. No it is not fancy, no it does... More

We stayed in cabin #4 next to a creek. It was a wonderful stay. Rooms are very clean with a fridge, coffee maker and microwave. Has a store within walking distance. Price was very reasonable. I highly recommend!!

The reviews of this motel made it sound charming and quaint. After checking in we went for a drive towards the falls and thought we'd come back to relax in our room. Most people have cell phones these days, but not us, so we were surprised there was no phone, no ice, no clock, no shampoo, and no kleenex. We... More

Greetings. I regret your stay with us was not acceptable. We could have provided many of the amenities you needed but we didn’t hear from you during your stay. One of my favorite items for our guests is the alarm clocks we provide. In this day and age, we don’t get many requests for them anymore since so many people... More
