The location is very nice--a few miles from Lahaina, yet quieter than the busier resorts near Whaler's Village. The facility is pretty well maintained, the bar had just reopened as had the food service due to the pandemic. Staff were working hard to get things going while meeting restrictions and training new staff. The food here is good and the bar service is also good. You can see a nice sunset from the pool area each evening. Several food trucks are stationed at a location across the street so you have options within walking distance. Uber is easy to get to and from Lahina. Diamond doesn't spend much on facility appearance, but the grounds are very well maintained.. Some rooms have nice ocean views or partial ocean views--others look towards the hills. The time share sales force here is very aggressive and we have had some experience of complete dishonesty---so I highly recommend NOT purchasing time shares here.

This was the second time we stayed there, since it was the only Diamond property available in Hawaii. The location is very convenient, with a few restaurants, food trucks, and grocery store within walking distance. The whole place and rooms are very dated. The pool, jacuzzi, and grounds near the pool are lovely. The pool is the highlight. However, the little shop at the pool sells balls! There was a couple literally throwing the ball “hard” in the pool almost everyday for hours. Stop selling the damn balls there and stop people from doing this. The pool is shaped like a dog bone. When they were doing this, nobody could go from one side to the other. It took away any relaxation since they were really throwing hard, sometimes hitting people, got close to kids, and splashed. When they weren’t there, other people were throwing them. There is almost no shade at the pool unless you want to spend a lot of money for a few cabanas, which nobody does. They have a problem with the ocean being right up to the property. They have these huge sandbags along the entire strip. They are ugly! The spot where you can walk down to the very small beach, is very awkward and you have to walk on these ridiculous sandbags. The hotel should figure out and make a pleasant, safe way to get to the beach. It is not easy or safe. There are almost no amenities. We had to deal with maintenance and housekeeping a few times. Things were broken or not working in the room. Maintenance guys were very pleasant and responsive. Kudos to them. Timeshare! They expect you to listen to their hard sell. We could only get our appointment at 1:30, wasting our entire day. Agent was late. Insisted on a tour, which we did there 3 years ago. We refused. They insisted that it’s required. No supervisor was there to talk with us. They were furious, we were not going to waste the rest of the day. They threatened that they’d charge us for the entire sampler package that we had purchased. We walked out. We’ll never go to another Diamond property.

With a little TLC this property would be amazing. Just add a sit down restaurant and a little updating like a fresh coat of paint and it would help a lot. Staff are friendly. The parking spaces are narrow and the older folks complain to security to get the umbrella spots by the pool lol but all in all a great stay.

There are no luggage carts available for arriving guests to use. Management needs to place some in the garage if they want a higher rating from me. Staff is very good. Resort is well-maintained. Sales staff is overly aggressive and not honest.
