We generally only stay at 5 star B&Bs. The Colonels did not disappoint. Colonel Mark took care of us and we learned that his wife is a colonel as well!!! They were very friendly and it turns out that she grew up very near where we did. The accommodations were impeccable and breakfast simple but very good. We would definitely... More

This historic property, surrounded by horse pastures, is gracious and welcoming. As is its owner-manager, a hands-on, consummate host. The property is lovingly lived-in, and bedrooms and baths are immaculate. As a bonus, guests can walk the paths, past paddocks, friendly thoroughbred horses, and a pond.

At 9 p.m. on a Tuesday I booked a room at The Colonels for the following night. By noon the next day, however, unable to rent a car to make the trip, I called Colonel Marc to cancel. He said he would have to charge me regardless of the circumstances, and fair enough, I guess. Policy is policy. But it... More

Dear Mr. C.J. Thank you for bringing your concerns to our attention. Our cancellation policy is very standard for Bed&Breakfast lodging and is clearly publicized on our website. At every reservation, we charge the first night of every stay in order to guarantee room availability for our guests at check-in time. Our cancellation policy is 7 days (for non-events) and... More

I had to go into Athens for a conference at UGA and all the decent hotels were booked. Trip Advisor also recommended some B & B locations. At first, I wasn't sure. I have stayed at some before and it was an "o.k." experience but had the possibility of being bad. I read the reviews and decided to give them... More

Our daughter was a freshman last year (2014) and we had no clue how difficult it would be to find lodging during a home game in Athens. The Colonel had one available room remaining after I had called every hotel in town, and I couldn't be happier with the way it turned out! We're avid cyclists, so we enjoyed riding... More

We stayed at the Colonels for one night on Sept 15/2015. Originally we were booked into a room with no TV. As we have family in Northern Calif, and there was flooding there at the time, we wanted to be able to watch the news updates on this. When we discussed this with Colonel Marc he immediately moved us to... More

We were in Athens for our grandson's college graduation and wanted something other than the standard hotel experience. While looking online, The Colonels Bed and Breakfast appeared to be just what we were looking for, and it was! Beautiful room, lovely house and grounds, and best yet, the owners were a delight. Great breakfasts, too!

After 20+ years in the hotel industry, I am very spoiled. I've been in sales for 4 & 5 star hotels all my life, so I am used to staying in the nicest accommodations throughout the world. I was not disappointed in the Colonels B&B. The grounds were gorgeous, the home was lovely, clean, well kept and Colonel Marc and... More

On my father's first visit to the American South, I wanted him to take on an antebellum emprise and The Colonels could not have been a better choice! Marc and Beth made our stay in this historic house by their amiable hospitality and beautiful manor! My parents and I were traveling through Athens to look at southern antebellum mansions, and we truly enjoyed staying at The Colonels. Colonel Marc was welcoming and attentive, and recommended a local high-end restaurant for dinner that left my father marveling at the food! My parents had a wonderful time, and although we stayed at a lot of wonderful locations... More
