We were supposed to stay only one night we end it up staying 5 days. The rafting and canyoning were a lot of fun, the pools and the jumps on the river next to the lodge also. And you absolutely have to meet Oscar the owner and ask him to try the guifiti :) No groceries or bank around so...

I must start out with this being one of my favorite places in Honduras. it's in the simplicity and natural beauty that surrounds this place that have made it a must visit for me. So much to do around this place from rafting to just chilling in a hammock reading a book. The people that over see the place are...

We has such an fantastic stay at the lovely Jungle River Lodge. You can’t beat their stunning riverside view and all of the fun activities offered right there - hiking, swimming, lounging, canyoning, rafting, and zip lining! There is something for everyone. Our guides were very knowledgable, professional and enthusiastic. Oh, and the food is delicious. Thank you to Oscar...

Not only was the location beautiful with a river flowing just a bit below with stunning views of the river & several little rock pools but the staff we're amazing! The food was delicious & the staff went above & beyond to fix the satellite for a friend of mine that wanted to watch the Champions League! Highly recommended place...

I spent two nights at the lodge and enjoyed the peace and quiet. The property is gorgeous with the fresh water pool and the river roaring. And at night the frogs sing to you. It would have been a little more relaxing with hammocks and a lounge chairs. Oscar, the owner, said that he was planning to get some. I...

I arranged three days in advice for a 1/2 day rafting trip with pick-up at the Utila Princess ferry. Everything well documented and very clearly understood by JRL that they would pick us up at arrival. We waited for 1 hour after we arrived by ferry and they never came. We planned the entire two days for this excursion. We...

I decided to go to Pico Bonito before travel along to Leon, after only visiting La Ceiba in Honduras. I could not have made a better choice, the lodge is on a beautiful location along side the river, the swimming pools and sight are amazing! Price and quality is also ok, althought 12 Dollar a night is expensive for a...

After a misfire in a Hotel In La Ceiba we spent one night in the Jungle River hostel in La Ceiba (an adventure in itself) but had a few laughs and were greeted by Pablo and his Jeep from Jungle River the following morning. A nice, if bumpy ride up the Cangrejal River with view of waterfall brought us to...

The Jungle River Lodge is rustic and wonderful if you are looking for a vacation with exciting activities which are fun for the whole family. Zip-lining and rafting were fantastic and our guide was very knowledgable and patient. He was a font of knowledge regarding plants and wildlife. Breakfast and dinner was provided and they were very tasty. I would...

Because we really wanted to do some Rafting on our trip, we decided to do that on the Rio Cangrejal. Rafting was 40 usd including pickup from the port in La Ceiba and a nights stay at the jungle river Lodge. The breakfast is little and really pricey for 6 usd, but the dinner for 8 usd was really nice....

“The private rooms with the riverside windows are very comfy; beautiful combination of wooden beams and stucco with embedded stone.”

“Ask for a private room with a hot shower. Apparently they have cold shower options. If you are a hiker, get a dorm room, they are cheap. Try to get a room that faces the river. Try to get a room that is far from the bar. I heard music and voices from it at 1am.”
