We were staying for a week of birdwatching and were not disappointed. The accommodations were nice and the meals were always very good. Our local bird guides Older and Alex were top notch and the location of the lodge allowed for excellent birding in varied habitats. The dining and bar staff are friendly and very attentive, never left you waiting for anything

What a lovely place to stay. We were lucky to have a week here. The staff are all very friendly and helpful. We were mainly interested in seeing the bird life and did a couple of trips which were arranged through the hotel. Our guide Elmer was very knowledgable and pointed out many birds which we would have missed. The restaurant serves up delicious meals. We would have liked to have gone out on more trips but we were unlucky with the torrential rain which kept on for 4 days. The cabins are comfortable and the gardens are beautiful. There is a spa which we didn’t use and a nice pool. We would definitely return.

We live in Grand Cayman so wanted a quick flight off island so Honduras was the destination. My friends have been to VillasPicoBonito and loved it so we thought we would go. Picked up at the airport by the friendly taxi driver and a short drive to the resort. Very pleasant reception staff who went over our booking and we were shown to our lovely room. Lovely comfy 4 poster and a great hammock outside. Plenty towels and sundries. One thing though, it you advertise tea/coffee making facilities then you must include milk and sugar. We never had any. A fridge would be very handy too. We had 2 trips included and arranged these without a problem. The butterfly/serpentarium 'trip' is a bit of a disappointment though. Our guide Joel puts his heart and soul into it though. We also paid extra for the Cuero Y Salado refuge trip. Not cheap at $70 each. And this is where it gets annoying. The sales tax and gratuity tax put another $20 dollars on. And it's applied to everything which pushes up the cost. Luckily Joel did his best and we saw monkeys and some lovely birds of prey. Nature doesn't have a timetable so we never saw manatees. T he actual resort is lovely and kept spotless by busy staff. The restaurant and bar had plenty choice for us too. There is a but however. If you aren't planning on trips or walks then there is very little to keep you amused. 3 days and nights was plenty for us as we only wanted an easy kickback. I think it's overpriced for what it is and next time we'll go to VillasPicoBonito. But relaxing it certainly was.

We appreciate your good comments. Our mission is to make your stay memorable by making the ordinary extraordinary. We are delighted to know that we have accomplished it. We hope that you will make us a preferred destination in your travels, and return to our little piece of paradise. We apologize if milk and sugar wasn't readily available, though it is available in our Restaurant, and sugar and creamer is available with every Coffee Maker in our cabins. Sales taxes are indeed quite high in Honduras, and for that we apologize. We hope that you will make us a preferred destination in your travels, and return to our little piece of paradise. Warm regards, The Team at Pico Bonito

We are trying to plan a trip for our 26 year anniversary. We like a Spa Package on their website but the website doesn’t work when you try to book the Spa Package. No one answers the phone when we call the numbers their own website provide or numbers Expedia or trip advisor provides. All different phone numbers, by the way! Our only option was to book a room on Expedia and hopefully get spa services added later, if anyone answers the phone or replies to our emails. Not a great start to this experience.

I spent three nights at the lodge and thoroughly enjoyed my stay. The staff were very friendly and helpful in coordinating my transfers to and from the La Ceiba airport and addressed all of my concerns promptly. The grounds are very beautiful and the cabin I stayed in was very comfortable (and I appreciate that there is no Wi-Fi/Internet in the cabins, as it encourages taking more time to appreciate your surroundings). The restaurant staff including Eduardo, Mario, and Orlando were all very kind and I enjoyed most of the options I tried from the menu; and the setting is great and close to various hummingbird feeders. Although I did a few activities in the La Ceiba area without the Lodge, I enjoyed the tours given by Arnel to the serpentarium, butterfly house; the night hike was also great, with sightings of a kinkajou, a great potoo, various frog species, and other creatures. I also took some time to explore a bit of one of the trails on my own and enjoyed some time at one of the swimming holes. Overall, an excellent eco-lodge that I highly recommend.
