Hotel's Favorite
We recently spent 3 nights at Las Cascadas and loved every minute of it! We first went there 12 or so years ago and have been looking for an opportunity to go back. The Lodge and grounds have been well-maintained and are still as beautiful as they were the first time. The main draw for us is the multiple waterfalls on the property and the relaxing sound of the water from the falls and the streams that run all around the accommodations. The limited number of guests is also a big plus as it feels like your own private oasis much of the time. They have added a steam room and pool since our first visit which are all nice additions. The rooms are very comfortable, clean and spacious and all have sitting areas with views of one of the waterfalls. There is no air conditioning, but we were completely comfortable with the fans on. The main sitting area/dining room is also very comfortable with views of the waterfall. And, just outside the front door are a couple of humming bird feeders that attract numerous humming birds. We saw at least five different kinds fluttering around one evening. Beautiful! Manager Ryan, Chef Olvin, Don Merlo and the rest of the limited staff all aim to please and are very responsive to guests needs/requests. Everything about our stay was easy from our initial reservation request to the airport pick-up/drop-off to check-out. Chef Olvin took requests for every meal and was able to accommodate our dietary restrictions (no gluten and no dairy) with no problems. And, having complete access to the bar was a great as my boyfriend was able to put his bartending skills to good use when Don Merlo was kind enough to pick up some sweetened coconut milk so we could make pina coladas with the delicious Honduran pineapples. There are plenty of opportunities for excursions like hiking and whitewater rafting, but we enjoy the grounds and waterfalls so much, other than going across the street to the river, we haven’t bothered to leave the Lodge during either of our visits. Whether you want relaxation, adventure or some of each, Las Cascadas is definitely the place to stay in Honduras!

We stayed in the Bejuco Cabin for several nights back in October and pictures don't do it justice, Hearing the waterfall all day and night makes for fantastic sleeping! I was apprehensive about there not being AC, but between the fans and the temps dropping at night, it wasn't an issue. The outdoor shower was awesome, didn't get a chance to try out the large tub, but maybe next time! Ryan was fantastic in the time leading up to our visit from answering my concerns about safety, to special requests which were met with no problem. We have also been in touch after as well. He really knows how to make you feel at home! Speaking of safety, don't believe all the negative stuff you see and hear. Not once did we feel anything but comfortable. In fact, the key to the cabin stayed on the table just inside our door the whole time. Never locked it when we were out leaving our phones and iPad in the room on the tables. Security is there 24/7 and they keep the huge, green door to the road closed so no one can come in unless they are expected. We used the jacuzzi every night and the pool a couple times. Nice loungers where I attempted to work on my tan too. The food was awesome. Everyday we were asked what we wanted for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and even mid day snacks. It was excellent and Olvin took care of as as if we were family. Actually, everyone that works there that we interacted with treated us the same. It was as if we had all known each other forever. I can't say enough good things. I'm glad we decided to take the chance and check it out. It is definitely my favorite place to stay. Don't let the price deter you, either. For all that you get a nice, quiet, intimate resort without all the crazy, obnoxious people that hog the pools, slam hotel doors, walk through the halls drunk at all hours yelling loudly. Add the fresh, made to order food in small batches in lieu of the standard powdered scrambled eggs, chicken fingers, dried out hamburgers, etc that you will get at other places, the value is definitely there. I haven't even touched on the natural beauty, birds, waterfalls, and such. I could go on and on, but you really need to experience it for yourself. I don't see how anyone could regret staying here. I am hoping to return soon!

I write this as I sit on the deck of the Bejucco cabin, reluctantly awaiting our return transfer to the airport - trying to find the words to describe the incredible weekend we have had. We flew in from Grand Cayman and had had the entire lodge for just the two of us, Olvin catering to our every whim, adventure, excitement, waterfall abseiling, ziplining, hot springs, hiking, horse riding, massage and the constant sound of a waterfall in our ears. We genuinely can not recommend this place highly enough. Three days ago we arrived as guests - today we leave as friends, and we will most certainly be back. Well done Ryan, Olvin and team - Las Cascadas absolutely deserves its 5 star reputation!

Absolutely amazing here!!!!! From beginning to end the stay was fantastic. Ryan was excellent with coordinating and arranging activities and events and was prompt and efficient in his correspondence. He was extremely helpful in answering questions and providing suggestions and recommendations and always checked in to see how things were going. The rest of the staff was also incredible...very professional, courteous and pleasant. Don Merlo was great and a huge shout-out to Olvin who was fantastic - always smiling and eager to help, very professional, knowledgeable and simply fantastic. His cooking, hiking guides and tours were amazing! Thank-you Olvin!!!! This was a perfect place for adventure (I went rafting, horseback riding, hiking and swimming) and for relaxation (reading in front of the waterfalls or at the pool). I simply cannot express how much I enjoyed my time here and would highly, highly recommend Las Cascades Lodge. I will be back! Thank-you to everyone who made this stay so fantastic.

This was the perfect family vacation spot. Everything was excellent right from the booking of our holiday with Ryan who was always quick to respond, the airport transfer and all of the lovely staff were amazing. Olvin is an exceptional cook and host. We all loved swimming in the beautiful natural pools, waterfalls and hiking on the property. Our children were always occupied exploring the rainforest and on the swing if we wanted to relax. One morning we toured the villages and met some locals which was truly memorable. I can't recommend Las Casadas enough, we can't wait to go back!
