Clean, safe, friendly, very private, at times it felt like I was staying at my grandma's cottage. It's a shame that in general this place is not crawling with tourists. I should have stayed longer. High ceilings, good views, clean, spacious rooms. It's a short trek from the main square (10min?) but you better backpack, wheeled suitcases won't work on...

When you arrive you see a well with a door. Does not look like anything special. Then you walk into the office, through the office and you are in a little piece of paradise. We were a family of 4 and stayed in the top level room with 3 double beds. The view from our balcony was spectacular. The gardens...

Very welcoming and helpful family run business . Our room was high in the compound overlooking the verdant valley with lots of space and a balcony and immaculately clean .Breakfasts were fresh and delicious and the area was looking over the gardens which flowed down to multiple levels of various accomodation.

I was very happy! Place is accomdating, safe and clean. The rooms are simple but charming. Breakfast was typical Honduran cuisine and delicious. There is additional charge for breakfast and A/C. The one draw back is it is not located with in downtown area of Copan but within 10 minute walking distance but it is a very steep hill. But...

Thank you Melissa for your compliments in your honest review, very much appreciated... Just want to clarify a couple of things to our potential guests. 1- There is certainly an additional reasonable "energy charge" when AC is requested. We've been advised not to include it in the base rate as many travelers prefer not having AC for a cheaper rate....

Hotel Doña Elena was the location of our homestay while studying Spanish at the Guacamaya school. The owner of the school Enrique brought us to this hotel or we would ne er have found it. We walked the neighborhood day and night and felt very comfortable. Neughbors allowed us to practice our spanish and were very welcoming

The view for our room was amazing and the food Dona Elena cooked was excellent. Her young teenage grandson was there and was fun to talk to! It was just up the hill from the city center. I would surely stay here again!

We stayed here for three nights. The room was satisfactory but there was no bedding (no sheets!)--just a light cotton comforter on top of the mattress. There was one chair on the tiny balcony area which overlooked rooftops and some vegetation. Not a scenic view. Dogs barked throughout the night which caused sleepless periods. The hosts were helpful but busy...

The place itself makes you feel at home, rooms are simple but very nice and clean, the view is stunning, specially in the early morning but our most positive experience was the attention of all the people that work there they truly understand how to make you feel special and at home.

We only stayed for 1 Day at Dona Elenas but it was. A great experience. The room was large and spacious overlooking the Copan hills and she served a delicious breakfast of small pancakes until we were full. We also arranged for dinner there at 7pm and she served a splattering local delights, meat, plantains cream e rd with a...
