My husband and I did the day tour with a group of 5, and then were the only 2 to stay overnight. This review is just for the accommodations on the overnight portion (see separate review of the day tour under Finca el Cisne). The accommodations were comfortable but rustic. The room had all of the basics: beds with very... More

Horseback riding, hot springs, and delicious food are a great way to spend the day! Carlos is super nice and friendly and knowledgeable, and is also very accessible over email before your trip in case you have questions about your arrangements. Overall a great experience!

My short time with Carlos on the family farm was an experience that I'll carry with me for life. An opportunity to experience something so pure and honest is rare and humbling. This is an escape and a chance to remind ourselves of how wonderful life is. Beautiful lush forests, the sweet sounds of nature in all forms, good food... More

The experience of riding horses across coffee plantations in such glorious countryside was the highlight of our trip. Carlos and the other family and staff who cooked such excellent meals and helped us were all friendly and welcoming. The house was clean and tranquil and the hot springs after a hard days riding were perfect. The place is just breathtakingly... More

There's not enough space to describe all the wonderful things that are part of staying at this finca. Carlos is as an ideal host as you could want - friendly, funny, gregarious, and helpful. The estate is gorgeous, and we stayed in the guest house with our own private room and attached bathroom. All the meals are made fresh on... More

I loved my stay at Finca el cisne & my friends are still enjoying the fabulous coffee they produce. Carlos is a great host, & great company. I really enjoyed the horse ride around his beautiful property & enjoyed learning about the area, about coffee productions & his family business. The food was awesome, & the accomodation comfy & clean.... More

Read this review in context: we went to visit Carlos to do three days of riding in the countryside with little consideration as to where we stayed The riding was fantastic, the horses are well looked after (especially by Honduran standards), the food was outstanding local fresh produce from the farm and our host Carlos was entertaining and knowledgeable. It... More

I recently spent time at the Casa Castejon at Finca el Cisne and thoroughly enjoyed it. The guest house is comfortable and the food, typical Honduran, very, very good. It is a 45 minute ride out of Ruinas just past the hot springs. The guest house is located at the edge of a small village so you get to enjoy... More

The previous review is dead on.. This place is great. We were a group of six friends traveling together and this place was a favorite. The only thing I would do differently is that we would spend two nights instead of one. The food is amazing, Carlos is charming and a great host, and the scenery is truly beautiful.

We really enjoyed our stay at Finca el Cisne; it was a highlight of our three weeks in Honduras. It is not your normal tourist experience. The drive up there is 45 minutes up a rough dirt mountain road that goes past the hot springs and continues through spectacular scenery to the guesthouse. We were met there by Carlos, the... More
