Stayed here for 5 nights and it was an amazing time. It is not a 5-star resort, but I felt the experience was definitely 5 stars. Brenda and Tony were excellent hosts, and they did whatever they could to make sure our stay was great. Pros - (1) diving was excellent and reef was pristine. Randy was boat captain and... More

Aside from being situated in the amazingly historical area of port royal, Roatan , which was my initial draw. Crystal clear waters and beautiful surroundings will draw me back. Very friendly and accommodating owners and staff will as well. Good job guys. We'll see you soon

I loved it here. It's a beautiful, cozy rustic cabin like hotel with an amazing view. Brenda and her husband were great hosts and went out of there way to make sure we had everything we needed. It was nice to get away from everything and really relax. Can't wait to go back

I had one of the best times of my life this past weekend at this beautiful resort located in an a m a z i n g setting!!! The snorkeling and kayaking were fun - the view is indescribable. I won't sully it with words! Brenda, Tony, & Randy were some of the nicest people I've ever met in my... More

We arrived on the 28th and are here until the 8th. We have been here several times but never for the holiday season. We celebrated New Year's Eve like we had never celebrated before! What a great night. The effort the staff put into the preparation was admirable and everything was spectacular. Thank you to all the staff at the... More

I stayed at Royal Playa for 2 weeks at the beginning of December (2014). I have been there before, so I knew what to expect. I got more than I bargained for. Brenda is managing the resort now and she is an outstanding gourmet chef from Germany. Every meal was a special event in itself, and fresh seafood every day!... More

I stayed at Royal Playa for a week of diving. The journey from the Roatan airport to Royal Playa is absolutely worth the trek. If you are looking to get away from crowds, noise and technology, Royal Playa is THE place for you. The eco-resort doesn't need the frills of modern tourism as the surrounding landscape speaks for itself. The... More

i was looking for a small private resort where we wouldn't get lost in the crowd either above or below the water. I found that and so much more on the east end of Roatan. Royal Playa is a small private resort where you feel like you are part of the family. Here you are treated to one of 5... More

I stayed at Royal Playa for about a week while researching a book on the history of Roatan and a pirate captive who lived in the area as a castaway. This is a beautiful, peaceful, remote spot -- well worth the journey. Great for diving, hiking, kayaking, exploring, reading. I went here with a group of friends to wrap up certification so this was my first open water dive. And now I am completely spoiled! The diving was amazing! Tons to see, we had 100+ ft visibility, water was nice and warm. I have yet to dive somewhere I enjoyed more (San Carlos Mexico and Royal Davui Fiji). The... More
