Nice resort, but be cautious of sand flees. My wife and I had an excursion off Oceania cruise ship in Mid December 2019. Weather was fabulous that day, sunny and hot. The beach and the resort had no customers except from the two mini-buses of Oceania cruise passengers. Service of drinks and food were great as the waiter took orders from us on the beach and delivered. However, spending 3 hours on the beach caused me over 100 sand flees bites and resulted with torturing itchiness and pain till now (beginning of May). Yes, you read it right, 5 long months. Although most of the bites have recovered to the extent that I can now sleep, the marks are still all there. I am not totally out of the woods yet. I had made two visits to my family doctor and subsequently two more visits to my dermatologist. After being treated with 5 different medications, I am now 95% recovered. The pain and itchiness were unbearable, So, my advice is that: make 100% sure you apply anti-insert repellent before you go to the beach or near the swimming pool in the resort. Good luck!…
We were only here an hour, to enjoy a drink and a swim. The campus is beautiful. They have a shallow lagoon on the beach for swimming or laying along the sand. They have a fantastic pool with plenty of patio with bar. The bar staff were friendly, the drinks were good. I'd love to go back some day for a week. Its pretty fancy, fairly expensive.
We came here as part of a shore excursion from a carnival cruise to do some snorkeling. Afterwards we spent some time at the restaurant and the resort's pool. This is a very nice resort but you need to be careful for the sand fleas. I got absolutely eaten alive by them. They are a relative to the black fly which is the famous "no see um" from the northern part of the US and Canada. Bring repellent! Otherwise, a truly beautifuyl place.
Came here off of a cruise Excursion! Beautiful beautiful place! Did the ship wreck snorkel l! Nice beach! Only thing is a few of us got bit by red ants but that’s the only downside beware of ants, gnats and other bugs
We stayed for one week in a friends Villa at Pristine Bay. Where do I start? When you drive in and get to the top of the hill over looking the bay there is an immediate wow factor. We never lost that each time we drove in (many times). Each morning wakening to the view of the bay and beautiful golf course was stunning. We made good use of the Beach Club and Hotel which was available to all guests staying in the villas. The pools are amazing with not many people. As you will read as of now it is in receivership and somethings like the Beach Club restaurant are not functioning but don’t let that put you off - there is still Much to enjoy. Pristine bay is central on the island so you can get west and east easily. There is a great supermarket 5 minutes away and restaurants like Gio’s, Cal’s Cantina or if you want American Happy Herby’s are 10 minutes away. Many mention the flies - our experience was that the Noseeums come out in the evening or when it is cooler. We did not experience the Sand flies at all as we spent no time on the beach other than one quick walk and there was no issue although we were told they are worse at times. But again only on the beach. We travelled over to west bay one day where many of the busy resorts are - we were very happy we did not stay there - every day they are inundated with day visitors Off the cruise liners.…
