The hotel is adorable and clean. The staff is super friendly and very helpful. It is a bit noisy (bars/clubs nearby) but it's the price you pay for being so close to the center. I've had no problems with hot water though the pressure is not the best. Lots of great bars and restaurants around as well as a very...

Although we didn't have particularly high expectations, this hotel managed to disappoint. The rooms are spacious; however, they are noisy. We didn't get any sleep because could hear music from a nearby pub/club all night long and traffic in the morning. Also, the beds are super uncomfortable. There is no water pressure and hot water is unreliable. Overall, the staff...

Sorry I can not understand that if you stay in the center, no noise from the pub's and we can not do anything with passing vehicles around. That is not a direct problem of the hotel so not our business. We fail to understand what the problem with the beds. Are the only people who have complained of strange because...

The staff here made me feel comfortable as I spent the first night of my trip in their hotel. The breakfast was delicious and the hotel itself was peaceful. The noise outside was unfortunate, but then again it is conviently located downtown near the nightlife.

When I came here, they initially gave me the room next to the front desk and the noisy street. I talked to the owner about my sleep deprivation problems and she gave me a suite with two huge beds! I felt like I could drown in this room it was so big:-). It was probably the best room in the...

I read the review in the Lonely Planet and booked one night.Location ideal for access to the center of town and and the owners were kind and helpful. The room was tiny with a twin bed, closet, little tv,small dorm type fridge, and a private bathroom with only cold water. Those factors were tolerable but the room was seriously like being in an...

We enjoyed our stay here very much. Lucia and her assistant Maria couldn't have been nicer, and were so helpful in recommending restaurants, providing maps, arranging side trips, etc. The location of this place can't be beat, since it is just a couple of blocks from the main plaza. Our room was very nice and spacious, and the shower was...

We recently stayed at this hotel and were disappointed by what we received and by the management of the hotel. On arrival, we were given room no. 1. which is a small double room with an inadequate shower. The warmth of the water was fine, but to access the hot water you needed to run the water at a very...

I really enjoyed Xela and would recommend this hotel to others. The location is right near the park so there are lots of places to eat and drink nearby. The hotel breakfast was not so great and there our plenty nice places nearby. We went up near the theater on 14st. and found lots of places for dancing. The rooms...

I was recently in Quetzaltenango on a family trip and was told by a local that the Hotel Modelo was the nicest place in town.
