I found Marieke very accommodating. I am on a moto and she allowed me to park in the entrance. She helped me locate everything I was looking for. Would have stayed longer, but wanted to learn more spanish and stay with a host family for full immersion into the language.

We stayed 3 nights in this hostel. The rooms are big and clean. The showers have actual warm water, not the electrical shower heads. The hostel is located just south of the central park. The host was nice, helping out with tours and giving information about other places to visit. All in all, we recommend staying here.

This accommodation has everything you could need and with a friendly and attentive host. I initially was going to stay just one day but stayed a week. I woukd stay longer if i didnt have to get moving. Location excellent, good facilities, option to book tours in you want as well. This deserves such a high ranking.

Marieka was a welcoming and understanding host. We couldn't withdraw more money from the ATM that day and planned to leave very early the next day for hiking. The rooms are big, very clean, nicely decorated and comfy beds. The bathrooms are very clean. Nice internal courtyard to chill out in and a well equipped kitchen for cooking. Thanks for... More

We stayed 4 nights at Casa Renaissance, and the hostel is very nice, but the women owner is not. She was not any help to us at all: She would only help with tours through the very expensive travel agency that she "worked" with and she pretty much threw us out the last day because she had rented our room... If you're staying in Xela for any reason then this should be your number 1 choice! It is incredibly well priced especially if you're staying 1 week or lomger as you get a percentage discount. The rooms are amazing! Huge, high ceilings with comfortable double beds. A TV and large wardrobe can also be found in the rooms. The spacious... More

Brilliant place to stay. Having stayed in 3 different rooms during our 10 day stay I can say they are all brilliant value for money, clean, quiet and nicely decorated. There is nice kitchen for you to cook with every cooking supply you could need. Also a TV room with a huge selection of movies. Anita is very welcoming and... More

I cannot say enough good things about Casa Renaissance. The building itself is secure (two gates), very close to Parque Central, and there are two little courtyards once inside. It's clearly an old lovely residence with beautiful tile and architectural details. My private room was the biggest of any I stayed in on my trip to Guatemala. I had a... More

This is the great place to stay. Beautiful place, carefully designed and arranged rooms, you can cook your own food, play playstation, watch movies, read etc. in atmospheric indoor and outdoor spaces within the facility. Close to city center, great stuff.

I stayed here for 5 nights and was very happy. I did have a room with a bath, lots of hot water and a huge room. It is very close to the plaza and market. The owner is quite helpful and can plan tours of the area. I will stay here again!
