What a delightful place to stay, especially if you have an over the water cabin, as we did. Very spacious and comfortable, great ensuite and a balcony to sit out on, to watch the sun go down. Really nice pool, with service bar, set in well maintained, landscaped gardens. Restaurant was buffet style and food was varied and plentiful. Good... More

While getting here can be tricky (you have to find the right pontoon under the Puente Rio Dulce, the effort is worth it. While a little rough around the edges, this hotel is clean, friendly, exciting and clean. We had a lovely cabin on stilts facing the water and the air con worked a charm. Hot water, powerful shower and... More

Your own bungalow on the water....gee OK!!! A peaceful, tropical getaway only accessible by boat makes this place even more relaxing. Gorgeous gardens make walking the paths to your own bungalow a joy. Orchids spill from the trees and flowering gardenia scent the air. Poolside service is great so relaxing with a cocktail or beer by the pool is ideal... More

This is the best place you can find in Rio Dulce. The hotel is built on a small island and most of the rooms [bungalows] are built on stilts over the water. This hotel has it's own currency "The Kevin Dollars", so once you get there you must exchange dollars for Kevin Dollars. The Catamaran can only be reached by... More

Catamaran Island Hotel has a series of cabins built over the water's edge on an island near the bridge over the Rio Dulce. It is not in Livingston, 48km away down river. You reach it by boat. The rooms are old but well furnished, and everything works, including the fly screens. My only complaint about our room was that the... More

We stayed in the Catamaran Hotel during a recent trip to Tikal Guatemala. The hotel is only accessed by a launch from the highway near the bridge in RIo Dulce. The ride is about 10 minutes and is paid for by the hotel when you are a registered guest as is the parking on the land side. The bungalows are... More

Lovely place only minutes by boat from Rio Dolce harbour area. The island is self contained with individual cabins spread across the island. Some cabins are actually on the water with balconies over looking the river. The gardens are lush with tropical plants. Gorgeous place to relax for a day or 2. There is also a separate dining an bar... More

If you want to use a credit card they will add 3% to your bill. We could not find this policy published anywhere! The staff were nice, but they would not bring the English speaking owner over to our table when we wanted to ask for clarification in our language.... Location is nice but rooms, although nice view, have missing... More
