It is a great experience to arrive by boat at the pier of Casa Rosada. First impression is right! Very nice house with lovely garden direct at the water. The small huts/bungalows in the garden are simple but very clean and charming! We had no problem sharing the bathroom here, so we normally prefer to have our own. Unfortunately we...

Yes, THE place to stay in Livingston is here!! As previously noted, the charming thatch huts are somewhat on the simple side, however Casa Rosada is spiffy clean and in a great location. Grounds are well manicured and there are two fantastic communal areas - one inside and one outside (with cover) where you can sit in comfortable chairs and...

We enjoyed our stay here thoroughly. The service, the coffee, the FOOD...brilliant! Rooms are basic but spotless and the single beds aren't the best for couples but for a few nights it's not an issue. The owners - Javier and Sandra, as well as the staff are so helpful and friendly. All in all, La Casa Rosada is a joy...

As long as you don't mind more of a camping feel, this is the place to stay in Livingston. $20/night got us a private thatched bungalow with beds and bug nets. Javier and his wife are very personable, and provide great service, knowledge of the local area, and delicious meals.

DO NOT miss this! A group of 8 of us went on a very personal, informative, leisurely and totally awesome tour with Hotel Casa Rosada tour guide up the Rio Dulce River and the town of Livingston. I watched as other tours herded groups of 30 people in and about in a "canned" tour, while we felt like we were...

We arranged a wonderful lunch at La Casa Rosada and day tour of the Rio Dulce area while our cruise ship docked in Santo Tomas de Castillo. While we didn't stay here overnight, we were so impressed with our day that I feel compelled to write about this wonderful little gem of a hotel and its gracious owners. With a...

The only downside to Casa Rosada is that the rooms don't have private bathrooms. Other than that, the hotel is GREAT. A bit of the rustic feel, the rooms are tiki huts, but they've done everything to make them as comfortable as possible from the quiet ceiling fans to the mosquito nets...this hotel is VERY eco-friendly. The owners, who are...

La Casa Rosada is a few hundred meters from the downtown wharf in Livingston and is one of the only ones located on the Rio Dulce itself. What makes this hotel special is that the rooms are actually small thatched wood huts "hidden" in a tropical garden. The huts themselves are not very large, but all have two double beds...

On a whim we hopped a boat to Livingston and followed a tip to La Casa Rosada. It's unpretentious from the street, but lush and welcoming beyond. They don't lie about having the best coffee either! I'm still dreaming of their lattes. Seven of us arrived and had no trouble securing double rooms for the night, and quite reasonably, $16...

We loved our stay here. In steamy and sometimes crowded Livingston, the shady patio, beautiful gardens, and breezes from the river mouth directly behind the hotel created a cool and pleasant oasis. The little two-person cabanas have a rustic style but are comfortable and beautifully appointed, as are the shared bath cabanas. Excellent meals are served by gracious servers on...
