This place felt and looked more like a resort than a hotel. It was simply amazing. I was a bit worried when we were traveling down the dirt road to the hotel, but when we started walking down the stone pathways I quickly realized we were in the right place. The grounds were very well maintained, the photos hardly do... More

We were only visiting for a long weekend in Guatemala and so our time was very precious. The ride down from Antigua in a minibus was pretty long so arriving at Bambu was heaven. After checking in and offloading bags in our room, we headed straight to the patio at the restaurant and stayed there for four hours, relaxing and... More

Stunning view and great access to the Atitlán Lake. Spend 2 nights in the hotel for visiting the birding areas nearby. I did climb the Paquisis trail following an ancient Maya trail in search for Mountain trogon and black throated jay, and we got them. Good breakfast and meals, awesome view and friendly staff. The recommendation is to make some... More

The hotel is like a natural paradise. It is green all over, it has all kinds of different plants and flowers. The staff is very friendly. I have spent a week in this hotel for the last several years. I enjoy the view which oversees the Lake Atitlan and a volcano.

This was our second trip to Lake Atitán. Last year we stayed in Panajachel - not a very pretty town, but lots of restaurants and shops and a Tuesday market, that is quite good - next to the fire station. Don´t miss it. Because rates were more than double for Easter week, we reserved at the Bambu in Santiago Atitlan.... More

I have traveled considerably and have never stayed in a hotel that is more pleasant. The gardens complement the setting on the lake surrounded by volcanoes. The rooms are clean, quiet and well appointed. The food is great, with an abundance of local fruits and foods available. Everyone is so friendly and ready to drop whatever they are doing to... More

We took shuttle to Panajachel , and crossed Lake Atitlan from there, we should have bargained for the private boat as we paid 450Q ($60.USD) when we should have paid 300Q or take the local ferry for 25Q. When we arrived the reservation we booked directly months before could not be found. Fortunately they had a very nice room #3... More

Our room was far too hot. No room amenities. No minibar, TV, air con, hair dryer. Beds were far too hard. Service questionable and price too much for what we received. Room wasn't properly cleaned. Pool was dirty. An overall poor and disappointing experience.

Delicious food, and wonderful staff. Sitting right on the lake - wonderful place to eat breakfast, lunch, or dinner. Wonderful view of the city and lake. The food was great, I even got the Pizza - not NY pizza but pretty darn good. Guacamole was to die for.

Missed the road to our destination, but was this such a jewel. Beautiful cabanas with lush gardens and a stunning view of the town at night and the volcanoes by day. I can't wait for another trip there.
