We thought we were booked for two nights in another local casita, however we sadly found out that we had only been booked for one night. We stumbled upon the bamboo in a desperate last minute need for a room. We could not believe our luck when we arrived here to find our spacious, comfortable and clean Casita #2, with...

Hotel Bambu does not fit the description of a "typical" hotel. It has about 6 casitas to stay in or one 2 floor building with about 8 units in it.Our friend's home is next door to it so we went there a lot to use their WiFi and have breakfast. The best meal was a dinner one evening when a storm...

Friendly and welcoming staff that truly desires to make your stay comfortable and enjoyable. Beautiful gardens, a swimming pool, hot tub, and sauna for relaxation. Cultural tips and many personal contacts to help you explore the lake area. And a restaurant that prepares wonderful meals and a fully stocked bar to complete the meal.

Stayed here four nights: two at the end of a tour, and then two own our own. Rm #6 was lovely: sizeable, comfortable bed, quiet. The hotel is far enough away from town that you don't get the noise of people partying or dogs barking. But actually a short walk if you use the charming (but hidden) lake path, or...

This is a truly special place on the lake outside Santiago. Gorgeous views of the town and the volcanoes. Jungle type grounds with nice pool and sauna. Handful of rooms - all with good views of the water. The staff is lovely. Diego took us on a wonderful hike. The waiters are lovely. The rooms need a little new paint...

Concerning the view, the village of Santiago is not the best you can get. El Bambu itself is a small paradise. Beautiful gardens, a beautiful bungalow, very tranquil and most of all : every single staff member was extremely friendly and helpful. We had a wonderful time here !

I stayed at the hotel with a group of friends. We had cottage 1 and 2. The place is located on right on the Lake, within very nicely landscaped and manicured grounds. Comfortable but basic accommodations. Beds were large with nice firm mattresses; bathroom of good size but basic, still had shampoo and soap supplied. A pitcher of purified water...

We stayed here for 3 nights when travelling Central America and whilst we found the hotel and gardens really pleasant at first we soon became frustrated. The staff were really lovely on arrival and helped us to our room but once we got into our room we were disappointed to find that the rooms really needed updating, the walls looked...

This place felt and looked more like a resort than a hotel. It was simply amazing. I was a bit worried when we were traveling down the dirt road to the hotel, but when we started walking down the stone pathways I quickly realized we were in the right place. The grounds were very well maintained, the photos hardly do...

We were only visiting for a long weekend in Guatemala and so our time was very precious. The ride down from Antigua in a minibus was pretty long so arriving at Bambu was heaven. After checking in and offloading bags in our room, we headed straight to the patio at the restaurant and stayed there for four hours, relaxing and...
