We stayed here because of the location as well as the price. The wifi wasn't reliable, there were huge spiders that kept coming into the room and when we went to check out they added another expense that was close to $40 American dollars for ONE night. Guatemala used to be an affordable place to travel to.

Dear Anonymous Guest: I am sorry about the unreliable internet. The server, the largest in the country, was upgrading the over-subscribed system. I suggest that it would have ben more productive had you questioned your bill when you were paying it rather than bringing it up in a slanderous manner on a public forum. I assure you that we have...

No hesitation in recommending Posada Santiago or Lake Atitlan as a destination when travelling in Central America. Beautiful scenery, very safe and peaceful - a real piece of heaven on earth. The Posada has a fascinating history with the owners having been committed to the local community from the outset. The locals make you feel very welcome. The rooms are...

I found this hotel in a Refinery29 article when I already had a trip to Guatemala planned with friends, and I'm so glad we included this in the trip! We had the most relaxing time canoeing on the lake, sitting in the sun, and lounging at the pool. They also are super helpful in arranging hikes and excursions in the...

First of all the attention of its owner, Mr David, its incredible. Since you make first contact with him, it's your best contact to understand how things work on Santiago Atitlan and its surroundings. It gives you a great idea on how to negotiate with locals, real cost of things etc. I am a spanish speaker and like to get...

This is a beautiful and quiet jewel with amazing views of the lake. The cottages are clean and comfortable with fireplaces to drive off any morning or late evening chill and purified drinking water piped into your room. There is a full service restaurant that will even bring coffee to your room. (With hot milk!!!) All of the food is...

This place is very nice and for the most part is good. We stayed in cottage 4 and it worked out well for the 3 of us. When we arrived, the employee carrying our luggage up the steps was great! The dining area was good for meals, drinks and playing board games. We got a kick of looking out the...

Some off your comments are just ridiculous. I have a recollection of someone standing near the dock awkwardly quietly staring at us as we took two entire minutes to get in our kayak. Juan Pablo would have hurried to attend you more quickly had you told him you wanted something. I am so sorry we do not read minds. Oh,...

Stayed in the "hacienda" (3 room/2 bath) suite for 2 nights with my fellow Penn volunteer colleagues. I was extremely impressed at the rustic yet comfortable/clean ambience provided by the Posada. Very well kempt garden with beautiful, exotic flowers. Would recommend this place to nature lovers who also enjoy comfort and also to foodies who will certainly enjoy the restaurant....
