I liked this hotel for an upstairs room with a verandah. Comfortable beds, nice size bathroom, lovely gardens with beautiful flowers and humming birds. the location is good and the lake and the main drag easily accessible. The dogs are friendly too The basic breakfast wasn't brilliant but good enough.

I stayed one night and it was a perfect place for the price. Hotel Utz Jay is located in a great location downtown, walking distance to the restaurants and shops and lake and launch. The room was cute and clean room with complimentary drinking water. Although the place is not super fancy, it was perfect for the price. And I...

Very clean, very safe accommodation. Clean sheets, towels, hot water, even drinking water is supplied throughout your stay. Staff is excellent - both reception and cleaning. Always accommodating, smiling, and ready to answer all your questions. Location is excellent - walk to the lake, or to town in the other direction. Plenty of shops and tuk-tuks nearby. Because the hotel...

A very central hotel, with an absolutely amazing ambiance - including a large garden/green area. Staff, including the two friendly, smashing and playful German Shepherd guard dogs working in the front yard at night, were extremely helpful and welcoming. Will definitely return here, if I ever find myself in Panajachel again!

I decided to stay at Utz Jay because of all of the wonderful reviews it had and it was recommended by a friend. Unfortunately, my stay here was probably the worst experience I have ever had with a hotel. After spending the afternoon on the lake I came back to my room to find that my backpack had been completely...

The Utz Jay hotel is in a wonderful location. It is a block or two from the lake and is a cozy little enclave of cabin-like rooms. I had an upstairs room with an incredible porch with cozy chairs. The most comfortable bed that I've had in Guatamala. The greenery and flowers hanging from the porch lovely. The room had...

The Utz-Jay is all the way down Calle Santander (the main street in Panajachel that leads down, literally, to Lake Atitlán), on the side street to the left just one block from the street's end. As you go down Calle Santander you are overwhelmed by all the clap-trap commercial ventures of a mid-budget resort town desperate to peel off tourists'...

We recently spent two nights here and were very pleased. We had an upstairs room with a balcony, very nicely decorated with hot shower and comfortable bed. The location is good as it is on a side street, but has easy access to the main area of town - we found the hotel to be peaceful and quiet, and the...

I stayed in this hotel for two nights. The room of the first night is big and spacious on the top floor. There is a balcony outside the room with a view of the garden. However the second night I have to switch to the first floor because top floor room already being booked. The room is much smaller and...

Wonderful place to stay, really central near the main street and very close to get the boats to the other villages. I arrived really late (3.30am) and someone was there to check me in and see that everything was ok. Showers were hot, which is nice after a long day hiking up the volcanoes or whatever you are doing. It...
