We went for my best friend's bachellorette, and had a great time. Excellent food, service, & the BEST view from some of the rooms & pool/jacuzzi. You can rent a boat to visit the other villages, and grab a tuc tuc to Panajachel... The hotel its close to everything.

When I first traveled to Guatemala this was the go to hotel for me. It is still charming. It still has the really thick blankets, and the food is OK. There are more interesting places on the lake, but if this is your first time here, and you are American, or European, it's a good dropping off place.

The second day I really had a bad experience as my daughter and son in law and their kids were two rooms away and she came to my room alone and her husband and kids were sleeping, in their room. When she returned she found out a boy 13 years old approximate trying to open the window in her bathroom... More

Let's start with the beds, hard as a rock. Our room was very hot (#104) and no AC!!! it was too hot. Also the hotel has kept the same I was not able to see any improvements on their rooms. For a hotel that holds a Conde Nast Johansen award I think its time to upgrade their rooms. The garden... More

The grounds are meticulously maintained and so very beautiful. The hotel is adorned with lovely carved furniture and spotlessly clean. Carve time out to sit by the pool and appreciate the majesty of Lake Atitlan. Dinner was fabulous, too.

Wow, there are no words to describe the grounds of this hotel. The hotel is beautiful. It contains some great artwork, antiques, and Guatemalan artifacts. Each room has a great view of Atilan lake and it's volcanoes. The gardens are so beautiful, I have never seen so many varietes of flowers, birds, and hummingbirds in my life.

We had a lovely couple of nights at Hotel Atitlan. Yes everything is more expensive than if you are in the centre of Panajachel (food, transport), but the location is great and it's a beautiful hotel with incredible views. We enjoyed the food and drink, the pool and hot tub, the nearby eco park with zip lining, as well as... More

This place is gorgeous. It's on the site of an old coffee plantation with a spectacular view of the lake and volcanoes. The hotel itself is beautiful, filled with local crafts, and with extensive, carefully kept grounds. Our triple was a two-room suite with a patio and a view over the hotel's formal rose garden. I was blown away, especially... More

This hotel is set in some incredibly beautiful grounds! And the hotel building itself is beautiful too. The rooms are nice, especially the view we had - across the lake to the San Pedro volcano, pretty special. The staff were really excellent, and the breakfast and dinner we had there was delicious. The bar was also really nice in the... More

I spent one night in this hotel and absolutely loved it. It has one of the most amazing views of the lake, it was very close to the town and had a nice warm hot tub. Great for couples or families. The gardens are also magnificent and the rooms were nice and clean. I highly recommend it for anyone looking... More
