Stunning views of the lake and volcanoes and amazing botanical gardens. Enjoyed a pleasant 2 nights stay- large and well furnished room. We had two evening meals outside in the restaurant and found the food to be excellent. Buffet breakfast good. A welcoming bar area with real

One of the finest hotels in Guatemala. The family history behind its origination was well worth the story. The grounds were impeccable. Food service was great. you can spend hours just walking the grounds. Great experience.

Beautifull hotel. Every corner is been taken care for. The staff is pleasent. Breakfast good but no salad and limited cheeze. Laundry services are poor and extreemly expensive. Nevertheless, nice experiance and recommended.

Wonderful beautiful hotel on the shores of Lake Atitlan. Botanical garden was astonishing. Exquisitely manicured even with topiaries. Rooms very nice and colonial looking. Beautiful restaurant and fine cuisine. Truly a memorable hotel.

We rented an SUV and my friend is an excellent driver. If you rent a car travel during the day because of the mountains in Guatemala.

While we did not do any hiking while at the hotel, there is a park very close to the hotel that apparently does have hiking trails. If you ask the front desk they will tell you how to get there.

A local young couple was having a lakeside wedding so our Caravan tour party of 43 guests was barred from using the pools or the gardens on that side of the hotel for the afternoon of our free time. Very rude. It was not like our group of retirees would have been playing Marco Polo during her wedding ceremony. I would suggest finding another place to stay and screw the Hotel Atitlan!

I am not sure if a fee is required. The poolside has a restaurant and when I was there over Easter, lots of people were coming in just for an afternoon drink or bite. I would email the Hotel and ask them.
