If “Luxurious” means rude staff and mold in the bathroom then Jenna’s is very “luxurious”. The tortuga room bathroom is a complete disaster. Poorly designed so it will flood when you take a shower and Jenna seems to think that mold belongs in a luxurious accommodation. There is no view of the lake from this room. Jenna also made a very disrespectful and rude comment to us that was very inappropriate. Not recommended.
Jenna’s River Bed & Breakfast was lovely. There are many places to stay in the Atitlan area, but Jenna’s is special because Jennifer hangs out with Guests and provides tips for how to experience the area. It made for a better experience than just going to less personal resort. She also helped coordinate transportation for us. The team working at the B&B was sweet and it felt really homey. The location was just far enough away from Panajachel to feel like you were really away, but close enough so that it was an easy trip to town. The breakfast was fantastic, and we enjoyed having mango daiquiries and Gallos by the bar overlooking the lake in the evenings. I hear the property is up for sale, and it would be a phenomenal investment!
Really enjoyed my stay here - a perfect spot to unwind. Thoughtfully decorated and designed “yurts” with awesome views over the lake. Loved the sunken bathtub! Great bar/restaurant and cocktails. Super friendly welcome and service from the inimitable Jenna. I understand she may be selling so if you’re in the market get in there FAST to own your slice of paradise!!
Spectacular views of the lake, great company & delicious food. The staff as well as Jennifer are welcoming and pleasant to get to know. Before you leave, you’ll find yourself that you’ve built a little community and sad to go. Rooms are simple, with private balconies & clean and comfortable beds. The garden is a little paradise, with the pool and grounds being well kept.
We love it here, the decor is so eclectic and quaint. We only stayed one night on our way back to Antigua but everything was great, Jennifer is fantastic and the staff is so friendly and helpful. Beautiful rooms and everything is very clean. The views of Lake Atitlan are incredible.
We spent two glorious nights at this amazing location! We were thrilled about how close we were to everything but felt worlds away in our cozy and beautifully decorated jungle yurt. Complete with the best view bathtub, bedding that made for dream sleeping, warm and welcoming staff, a view of the lake and volcano only found on postcards and the fabulous Jennifer to top it all off! She helped us make the most of our time there, ordered Tuk Tuks for us, has a wonderful restaurant and bar with delicious food and drinks and wine selection and we had some lovely laughs together. It’s a must stay location while at Lake Atitlan!
First off, Jenna is amazing. Very helpful and quite accommodating. The place itself is ideal if you want some piece and quite. The staff are friendly and speak English if you don’t speak Spanish. The food is very good and the service is above typical for Central America. Location is an easy 15 minute walk to Pana or a Q10 tuk tuk (they will organize). Beautiful views, charming layout, hot water for the shower, and plenty of privacy. I stayed here in Feb 2022 and I highly recommend Jenna’s if you want to relax and enjoy some leisure. Pool was fine. Not enough sun for my liking, but I’m not going to ask them to cut down trees to suit me whims. Overall: pay for what you want or deal with what you pay for. This property is honest and upfront about what it is and what it offers! Well done Jenna! Thanks for everything. Your property is awesome and your staff are top notch.…
This place is wonderful! Jenna is friendly, responsive, and pleasant. The staff are helpful and the food is great any time of day. My wife and I stayed for about a week whereas most folks passed through for a few days. It was a great place to get the day started or unwind after big hikes. Great views of the lake and volcanoes from the tub and the breakfast is included.
My wife and I stayed at Jenna's for 7 nights over New Years and had a great experience. Jenna was friendly and helpful, going out of her way to make sure we had a great time. She called to arrange tuk tuks to take us to Pana anytime we needed one. Lino, the tuk tuk driver, was very nice. He took us for a tour of several nearby towns (Santa Catarina and San Antonio) which we both enjoyed. He also took me into Pana at 5:30 am so I could do landscape photography. There are a number of breakfast options. The breakfast included in the price comes with eggs, fruits and breads. There are many other choices that are reasonably priced as well (French toast, pancakes, omelets, etc). Dinner is excellent and ranges in price from Q50-85 (about $6-11). There are a number of different options including various fish entrees, shrimp, chicken breast, and pasta. The bar at the B&B is well-stocked and there are a number of drinks to choose from. The view from the entire resort is incredible and sipping a cocktail while watching the sunset is a highlight for sure! The room was clean and had more space than it appears in the pictures. We stayed in Iguana and had a great view of the lake. It seems that all of the rooms have good views, but I would personally try to get one higher up the property. There are a lot of stairs as the B&B is built on the side of a steep hill. This wasn't an issue for us, but could be if you have difficulty with stairs. The showers are nice with warm water. The bed was a little hard, but after a day of exploring we slept well. There are a lot of street dogs around the lake and they do bark at night. There are also roosters that crow in the early morning hours. I wore ear plugs and this really helps. I'd recommend bringing some even if you don't plan on using them. There are ample blankets that helped to keep us nice and warm on the cool nights (the lows were 52-58°F). I'd recommend bringing a light jacket or warm sweater and pants for breakfast as the temps are still a little cool in the morning. Our room had two padded chairs and a table on the porch which provided a great place to relax and read a book. There are a number of activities available in the area which include anything from paragliding, ATVs, and zip lining to more relaxing choices. We did a number of activities and visited most of the towns. We both enjoyed the ATV tour by Yeshua from Simoon Panajachel. There are some great restaurants in Pana and I highly recommend trying a few if you are staying for more than a couple nights. Guajimbo's was very good. We also enjoyed Tuscani's and Hana. For a more authentic experience try Jose Pinguinos. The Pepián de Pollo was excellent! All in all, this was a great trip and I highly recommend Jenna's River Bed and Breakfast!…
Jenna’s is a hidden gem. From the breathtaking views, to the impeccable service, we enjoyed our stay from start to finish. Jenna made our New Years splendid, offering a special meal, champagne toast, and fireworks at midnight. Jenna went out of her way to help us navigate the lake, hiring us a private tuk tuk to take us to neighboring towns. We felt at home here and would highly recommend it to anyone!!
