What can you say about this iconic hotel! Very old and sort of rundown but in a well-preserved and beautiful way. Room was very small and even though the window was shut the noise from the road outside was horrendous. Bathroom minimum but everything worked. Water hot and shower pressure good. Beds small but in spite of noise had a...

Comfy! Three traveler...three beds! Enough space and comfortable for a short trip. Excellent location on Centro historico.. Exactly what we were looking for! Came for Metallica concert. I definately would recommend it!

The hotel is in old town by the square so it's got that going for it. Our room was about as small as it could be. Just large enough to fit a twin bed and an armoire. Tiny bathroom too. No A/C, just a ceiling fan that goes whamp-whamp-whamp all night. Food was okay, service a bit slow.

Before we traveled I read somewhere that you should go straight to Antigua from the Guatemala City airport. After our month long trek through Guatemala, Chiapas and Tabasco I have to say I agree. We stayed at the Pan American, which was very well located. It wasn't... bad... it just wasn't... good. It got us through out one and only...

This is a great location in central downtown Guatemala City, hard to beat it. And it's not bad value for money. Rooms vary, some are nice and large, others smaller, some have TV, others don't. The whole place has an old-fashioned feel to it, the fittings must be original 1940s. There is free wifi, laundry service, a restaurant. I wasn't...

Interesting looking if rather gloomy hotel. Mattress much too unsupportive and contained bugs which inflicted about thirty bites on my right side during one night's sleep. Handy for the main square and for those interested in old style hotels otherwise not recommended.

While I was in Zone 1 of Guatemala City, I took the opportunity to visit Pan American Hotel. I was curious. After all, this is a famous landmark of early 20th Century history of the city --especially of the downtown area. I went to visit the hotel, hoping that it would look absolutely wonderful, taking me back to the 1940's...

Loved. Loved this hotel. Felt like I was in an old Humphrey Bogart Movie. Although the rooms are small, you only want to sleep there anyway. Rooms overlook the small lobby and very large dining room. There are displays of local crafts and a wonderful display of old telephones used fro late 1800's. Just take a left after exit and...

I know this hotel from the 60's when everyone working for the Tikal Project stayed here overnight for $5.00/night connecting to an Aviateca flight into the Peten. There were no roads into the north back then. In the lobby, they have an old register on display. We used to sign in and look over to see who else was here....

Good location. Near to 6th Avenue which is the pedestrian only walking street. Lots of restaurants and shops on this street. The Hotel is also close to the Main Plaza. The rooms in the hotel are very sparse and small, but they are clean. The open quart yard in the lobby is a nice place to have breakfast. Its like...
