We wanted to check out GC but only had limited time available. Quetzal room was a great base for it - the bike tour was excellent and we got a great insight into some historical events that we otherwise would know nothing about, as well as taking in the more modern side of the city. It is very clean and... More

Wonderful family run establishment. Very clean and worth the money. Get to know the family who run this place. They gave a great tour of Guatemala City. Also very quite and the beds were super comfortable

Good location in the city felt safe. Bathrooms are clean and beds are comfy. Stayed at the weekend so lack of laundry service close. Free collection service from hostel is brill. Only down fall is lack of communicate between staff regarding my checkout when I came to collect my backpack later that night. Paid my bill in cash late that... More

Could not speak highly enough of this hostel and its owner. This is not just your average hostel for your money you will also get an experience to go with it. The hostel owner is doing everything he can to change the concept of Guatemala City. We thought we were just going to get a bed to sleep in when... More

I had to stay the night in Guatemala City to take a flight the next day and this place was perfect! It is close to the airport and Hedman Alas bus terminal (I was coming in from Honduras), it's clean, peaceful, cozy and the staff are very friendly! I had been sick the day before and hadn't eaten in a... More

We received a warm welcome and in our short 12 hour stay, we were pleasantly surprised by the warmth of all of the staff and the other guests. The room was clean and quiet, and the breakfast of toast and fruit was fresh and tasty. We arranged a shuttle to Antigua through the front desk, and it was super convenient.... More

This is one of the best hostel experiences I have ever had. Marcos and his family show you a side of Guatemala City that would be impossible to access unless you already had friends or family in the city. The bicycle tour is fun but also a cool history lesson and there was some some great street food along the... More

This was a family run hostel in zone 10 of the city. I felt it was a little chaptic when I first checked in as I didn't know who was working and everybody were all telling me different things, but overall it was a good experience. It was in a good location to head to the nearby Oakland mall if... More

Quezalaroo was the first stop on my first solo trip as a female traveler. I was terrified! Marcos and his mother Maria were very kind. Marcos drew me a map of Guatemala and help me plan the rest of my vacation. I highly recommend Quezalaroo!!

I was really afraid of Guatemala City and didn't want to stay there for a long time so I booked only one night. Oh how I regret that! Marcus and Maria made my time there really fun and special and I owe them for that!! They are the nicest hostel owners I ever met and they made me feel like home.... More
