We spent 3 nights in the Library Room. The room was handy to all of the amenities of the inn. The hosts were wonderfully helpful with recommendations and insightful details of the area. The breakfasts were so outstanding! It was such a treat to experience everything you want in a B & B and at an affordable price! The inn has a wonderful garden area (of course, it's the Garden Inn!) that you can walk through and sit and enjoy nature. If you want to get away and have lots of places to take day trips, this is the one!

Dear Craig, Thank you so much for sharing your experience here at the Americus Garden Inn Bed and Breakfast. It was a pleasure hosting your 3 night visit with your friends. There is so much to see and do in this part of Southwest Georgia. The Andersonville National Historic Site and National P.O.W. Museum is just a short drive from Americus as is the Jimmy Carter National Historic Site in Plains. Habitat for Humanity International along with the Global Village and Discovery Center is right here in Americus. We highly recommend the Georgia Rural Telephone Museum in nearby Leslie and Providence Canyon, the Little Grand Canyon of Georgia, is about 45 minutes from Americus. Several years ago, we were hit by a tornado which tore down 30 trees from our property. As a result, we hired a landscape architect to create a beautiful garden plan with a meandering path for our guests to enjoy. Since our property is for the exclusive use of our paying registered guests, it is very peaceful and quiet. We truly appreciate you taking the time to write a review and would love to see you again in the future. Warm regards, Kim and Susan Egelseer Owners/Innkeepers

Property's Favorite Review
Americus was an ideal stop on our journey South to Florida with Andersonville and Plains being worthwhile visits. The hugely positive Tripadvisor reviews made the Americus Garden Inn a logical choice. W3 stayed three nights and were hugely pleased we did. Susan and Kim, the proprietors of this magnificent antebellum home are fantastic hosts. They truly enjoy what they do and make each guest most welcome. Moreover, they are a fount of knowledge of the area and are keen to offer tips, suggestions, directions and recommendations about what to do, where to go and what to eat. The house is immaculately maintained and the breakfasts exquisite. Numerous other reviews detail accurately the specifics. We have stayed at many fine hotels and a number of great B&Bs but none have created an experience so enjoyable We will fondly remember our stay in the Verandah Room. Thank you Kim and Susan.

Dear Robert C: Thank you so much for sharing your experience in our home, the Americus Garden Inn Bed and Breakfast. Built in 1847, our historic pre Civil War home is a beautiful example of antebellum architecture located just a short drive from Andersonville National Historic Site in Andersonville and Jimmy Carter National Historic Site in Plains. The Americus Garden Inn has a total of 7 guestrooms, with 2 on the lower level and 5 upstairs. The Veranda Suite is a large, comfortable downstairs King room with 12 foot ceiling, large bay windows and a large private bathroom with garden tub/shower combination. We are so glad that you found your room choice to be perfect for you. As a husband and wife team, with no employees, we devote all of our resources, time, and energy, to create a special place for our guests to enjoy. It is our pleasure to share our insights on the area's attractions, restaurants and history to help all who come this way to make the most of their time. Our complimentary 3-course breakfast is served in the dining room between the hours of 8am - 9:30am. We vary the menu based on the food preferences of our guests at the time and are so glad you enjoyed what we prepared for you during your stay. We truly appreciate your thoughtful and kind review. You were delightful guests and we would love to see you again when you are traveling between Florida and Canada. Warmest regards, Kim and Susan Egelseer Owners/Innkeepers

We are three friends doing the “Peaches to Beaches Yard Sale” through Georgia. This was our last night before heading home-and what a treat. Susan and Kim were wonderful hosts. Our room and bathroom was cleaned and disinfected just before our arrival (even the bathroom floor). We had the whole house to ourselves. Built in 1847, there were so many beautiful architectural details to enjoy. Susan’s breakfast was incredible! Chocolate muffins, cheese frittata, banana pancakes and beautifully arranged fruit (she has won awards for her pancakes). She asked about allergies, health needs, and likes/dislikes. A beautiful area to visit near Anderson and Plains. Very fun and educational way to end our trip.

Dear Beth: Thank you so much for sharing your experience with your friends here at the Americus Garden Inn Bed and Breakfast. We appreciate you including a stay with us while treasure hunting at the Peaches to Beaches Yard Sale. Cleanliness is really important to us. Your visit just happened to coincide with the beginning of the Covid 19 pandemic. We wanted to ensure your safety, and ours, and made certain to disinfect everything in and around the house. We believe that breakfast is the most important meal of the day. We are so glad you enjoyed what was served especially for you and your friends. When someone says they love chocolate, we make sure to serve chocolate! As you mentioned, Americus is very close to Andersonville and Jimmy Carter National Historic Sites, both are worth taking the time to visit. Thank you again. We look forward to future visits. Warm regards, Kim and Susan Egelseer Owners/Innkeepers

I've traveled around the world and have rarely been met by the hospitality that Susan and Kim extend. Giving special thought to allergies, preferences, and celebrations they are beyond compare! I was traveling alone for my birthday and they made the stay memorable to say the least! I honestly would travel back to rural Georgia again JUST to stay here. The three course breakfast was a first for me. I learned what a difference pre-warming your coffee mug does, too! They gave me spot on recommendations of places to visit while in the area and my only regret is not staying longer so I could come back and share the results of my many adventures with them! I'm writing this review 5 months later because it's been quite a busy season but my stay with them was THAT memorable. I've already recommended this gem to friends.

Dear LeAnna, Thank you so much for sharing your special birthday trip with us. Sharing our home with you was an absolute pleasure and we appreciate you taking the time to write a review. We treat every person who stays with us like a treasured friend. When folks make a reservation, we take the time to ask about allergies and preferences to ensure all of our guests have a special experience designed especially for them. Our 3 course breakfast begins with a freshly baked item (Susan makes everything from scratch), followed by a fruit course, followed by a hot entree accompanied by the pancakes of the day. We are so glad you enjoyed what we prepared for your special birthday visit. We certainly hope that your next visit will be longer and look forward to hearing about your adventures. Warmest regards, Kim and Susan Egelseer Owners/Innkeepers

We spent three nights in the Scarlet Room while visiting the area with friends. Susan and Kim could not have been more welcoming and gracious. The breakfast that Susan prepares is worth the stay. The room was very large and comfortable. Without a doubt the cleanliness was the best I have ever seen in a B&B. This, along with the warmth of the hosts made this a perfect getaway. Kim each morning helped us prepare for a day of sightseeing by giving us tips on visiting the local sites. I recommend this beautiful home whether your stay is for a night or for a week.

Dear bhardy8526, What a pleasure it was to host your friends' getaway in our home. Thank you for taking the time to share your experience at the Americus Garden Inn Bed and Breakfast. Your room was the largest and most requested room in the house - Scarlett Suite. With original hardwood floors, bay windows, 11 foot ceiling, King bed, loveseat and recliner, plus a very large bathroom with garden tub and separate shower. It is definitely a guest favorite. Having been innkeepers in Americus for 18 years, we know what most of our guests might be interested in exploring during their time in our area. We do have the attractions listed on our website, but, we are happy to share our "insider tips" to make the most of your time at the different venues. We truly appreciate your thoughtful review and look forward to seeing you again in the future. Warm regards, Kim and Susan Egelseer Owners/Innkeepers
