Agritourism-chic in Punta Gorda: a Jungle Lodge, organic farm and a 12,000-acre nature reserve. Set in the verdant hills above the Caribbean coast of southern Belize in the town of Punta Gorda. From our dock you can embark on our tranquil cruises on the jungle reaches of the Rio Grande, or our guided snorkeling and fishing adventures on the Caribbean Sea. Nim Li Punit and many other attractions are located nearby. At the heart of Copal Tree Belize is the Main Lodge with the Garden Table Restaurant, the Rum Bar, the Jungle Spa, lounge areas, a swimming pool, and observation decks that open to stunning vistas of the coast, the Maya Mountains and a seemingly endless pristine rainforest. Our 16 individual, spacious suites are well appointed with plush beds, screened fresh-air verandas, and spa-style bathrooms with floor to ceiling tropical rainforest view.

The Copal Tree Lodge is a must visit if you're ever in Belize. I spent three blissful nights at this incredible jungle oasis with a friend and we couldn't have been happier. The customer service was impeccable and we really felt welcomed and cared for. They grow / produce most of the food they serve and we could tell! Every meal was a culinary experience. We felt so spoiled! And there is so much to do while you're there. We went canoeing, hiking, horseback riding, visited ancient Mayan sites... If you're looking to connect with nature and recharge (all the while experiencing a little bit of luxury) there really isn't a better place!

My boyfriend and I researched a ton of places before settling on Copal Tree Lodge for our 5 night stay in the jungle. The property is incredible and our room (suite 12; jungle suite) was completely private with views of only the rainforest and no other rooms from any window. It is a special spot for sure. Punta gorda is much less of a tourist destination than other places in the jungle such as san Ignacio, and we enjoyed being among nature and the locals as much as possible. We took out a canoe on the river, read in the hammock, hung out by the pool, and did the cocktail mixology class. The lubaantun/cave swimming excursion with Desmond did not disappoint. I agree with the below review that staff could have been better trained to enhance our stay. I found often we did not get served right away and had to follow up with a drink menu, etc. The staff are very friendly and polite and we weren’t bothered as we were on vacation but it is something to mention as the stay was not cheap. The food was good but as previous reviewers have pointed out, it’s not clear what makes up the 70% of the menu which Copal Tree says is produced on site. We hoped to go into town more to try local dishes but found the cost to and from town prohibitively expensive - $15USD each way. I’m giving this place 5 stars because we had an excellent stay but I want to advise other travellers of some of the “cons” with Copal Tree.

Loved the views over pristine rainforest, the fabulous food, the outstanding service-attitude, the farming projects, and simply being surrounded by nature of this amazing, breathtakingly beautiful kind. Stayed for a yoga retreat and couldn't have chosen a better place!

My husband and I just returned from an extremely relaxing 8 day stay at Copal Tree Lodge. The lodge is in the middle of the jungle and so beautiful, the food and drinks are all delicious and made from food grown on their own organically grown farm. The people who work at Copal Tree Lodge are the best, including Ducky (bartender and mixology class), Waluco (assistant manager and rum tour), Desmond, George, Yvette and Melanie on the Snorkel with the chef boat tour, Elon (Bean to Bar Tour and person to go to if you need some natural healing with aloe and turmeric), Melanie, Sherine, Melita, Berta and Mark (wait staff). This is a place not to be missed. The canopy suites are the best. You have a private infinity edge pool for the four suites to share and a spectacular sunset viewing every night.

The Good The property is amazing! The farm tour, market tour, bean to bar tour and the sunset cruz where our highlights. The tours are Pricey. The food was good with great presentation. Not over the top but good. Great variaty for lunch and dinner. Great wine selection. You must have a message. Fantastic! The Bad Our room was dirty. We booked a canopy suite for some extra space but couldn't sit on the furniture because it had stains and filth all over them.. Yuck! Our toilet looked like it hadn't been cleaned in weeks. Our towels where old and stained. Some of the pool towels where falling apart. They had seen better days. There is no bar service at the canopy suite pool. On arrival we sat in the restaurant to have lunch and the waitress was very rude and all but refused to wait on us. She was more concerned about what song was on the radio. So we came down for dinner and she refused to wait on us. It was only better for us. The service was great with Melony. We tipped her BIG and thanked her the rest of the trip. They had no bar tender for lunch service so no cocktails could be served. Crazy! They where out of several items on the menu as well. I really think this Hotel could be something amazing. Just not today.

We appreciate you taking the time to leave a review. It is wonderful to hear you enjoyed some of the best activities and dining in Southern Belize. However, we regret that your stay didn’t fully live up to expectations. We have already implemented a new housekeeping policy that has eliminated these issues and purchased new pool towels. We apologize for the lapse in the lodge’s typically stellar service and ensure that the team at the lodge is always focusing on guest needs. The bar area at the canopy suites is available upon request; in the event that a bartender is unavailable, we’ll gladly prepare drinks and bring them to the canopy. We encourage you to let us know if there is ever anything that can improve your stay. Thanks again for staying with us. We hope to see you again soon and show you the true luxury Belize experience we are known for!
