    what a wonderful place to chill and relax. Great people who own it with a vision to help the Mayans own their own houses and land. Tilapia in the swimming pool, awaiting the rainy season.     This place is owned by an older American couple who bought the property to retire on. They really don't have the energy to run it. The man is really nice, but the woman thinks everyone who stays has gone to personally visit her. She talks to you constantly, and will not leave, she comes into your room uninvited (one time...

    The hotel is an ugly concrete lump completely out of keeping with the local environment. It barely bore a resemblance to the photographs on the website. Rooms were badly kept and after a look we simply headed off the other way. The Maya people in the lodge's 'cultural Maya village' looked depressed and were very unfriendly. We later found out...

    Upon arrival we were informed that our reservation had been given to someone else. We were put into two small rooms, splitting up our party. The rooms were filthy. One of the pull out couches contained a roach. The ceiling fans were coated with dust and warped. The pictures online were not representative of our rooms. The water didn't work...
