This delightful lodge is just outside Punta Gorda. So you have to tell the bus driver to let you off early. From the road it is about a 5 minute walk, but your "roller" suitcase will be challenged a bit. The lodge owners were very accommodating and provided vegetarian and vegan meal options. The cabanas are situated to give privacy and have a higher wall area for the outside shower. The main "lodge" area is open and clean and for the first time I saw a hammock that was hung exactly right for lounging. Usually resort have them set with way too much sag. After a six hour bus ride from Belize City, it was near heaven.
We stayed at the Sun Creek Lodge for two weeks and it was amazing! The owners, Thomas and Marisa are beautiful people, always ready to make sure we were happy or just hang out for a friendly visit. Ms. Rosa is an incredible woman that you can’t help but love and cooks delicious breakfasts and helps clean the rooms. Everyone there made it an awesome experience for our family! Perfect if you prefer a serene jungle environment and only minutes away from the town of Punta Gorda and plenty of nearby attractions. For us it was the perfect getaway to relax after a full day of activities. 10/10 would highly recommend and will certainly stay at again when we can.
I loved the sound of nature all around & the natural lights pouring into the room through out the day. It's a comfort minimalist location with a feeling of home. My favorite feature is the bathroom which is indoor but outdoor at the same time. It gave me the most beautiful start to my morning to shower under the sun. My partner and I will definitely return
Thomas and Marisa welcomed us into their family at this beautiful jungle lodge. They went out of their way to make our stay special, including showing us the amazing, lush rainforest that's only a short drive away. Rivers and creeks abound in this area of Belize so a dip in clean water is never far away. The cabanas are spacious and comfortable, tastefully designed, and have outdoor hot-water showers that are a fun feature. The common area is located in a larger thatched-roof, wooden cabana with gorgeous views of the surrounding tropical forest. Here you can relax in hammock, talk, or play a board game. In short, we felt like we had been welcomed into a home away from home, a very special feeling when traveling in a different country. Thank you!!
We stayed there for a long weekend. We rented their large cabana. What a great place! Lots of room in the cabana. Comfortable beds and a nice porch to spend the evening on. There is also a lovely common area with hammocks to hang out in. Marissa and Thomas treated us like family. They have extensive knowledge of the area and were able to answer lots of questions. Miss Rosa makes a great breakfast. We will definitely stay here next time we come. There are so many fun things to do in the area and it’s just beautiful there. Thanks for making our stay at your place so great!
