Recent,y we had the opportunity to visit Belize and ended up staying in Orange Walk at St Christopher's Hotel. The room was clean and air conditioned - a real necessity. The grounds were lovely with a great variety of flowers that attracted many birds and butterflies. The hotel is located along the New River giving a nice place to sit and meditate. The cost is reasonable. While it provides coffe it does not have a restaurant but there are some near by.. A good place to stay over all.

Good central place very clean with good towels and linen. It just feels a bit tired. The air con worked well but noisily. There was a good shower but the hand basin and taps are really worn though I emphasise all was clean. Really super garden with a beautiful river frontage and secure parking if you need it. Charming staff and right next door to the Hotel de la Fuente for breakfast.

Well, this review is simple. The room and bathroom are clean and spatious, the hotel ground is full of birds, there is a big garden with benches to sit on, the wifi is good, the staff is friendly, the price is OK and shops, restaurants and ATM's are nearby. So nothing to complain, it;s just perfect!

Rooms decorated with details, spacious, plenty of furniture to put stuff on it, even hangers. A mirror, a table with chairs, fridge, TV, big enough window, comfortable queen size bed. One of those rooms you like to stay in. The grounds of the hotel are gorgeous, as stated in other reviews. Sit down at the river, watch the water flowing, chill with the birds singing to you, very quiet. The hotel is well kept, colors bright. I arrived in the morning, was able to check in around 11am. Very forthcoming. Staff is friendly

On arrival of check in they didn't have my info couldn't find my reservation. Couldn't find the rate they charged my credit card. Then charged additional $250. Checked into room air conditioner wasn't working. No maintenance ppl on site, manager wasn't around until Monday. They offered me a smaller room even though I had 2 Queen beds booked. They wouldn't up grade my room I had to pay additional $40. Had to stay in stale room. Carpets stained gum on floor. Wifi no reception. Wouldn't recommend here. Terrible service. Walter room 240.

We visited St. Christopher Hotel in late March. Front desk people were extremely helpful with getting us connected to tours, cabs, sightseeing! We had a second floor room, clean and large. Bed was comfortable, pillows fluffy and air conditioning cooling! Shower was hot and strong! Hotel is along the river and the grounds are full of flowers--all seemed to be in bloom while we were there. The hotel brought us a bouquet of flowers from the grounds...beautiful! No breakfast included, but a very nice restaurant right next store Hotel De la Fuentes had a very full menu with tasty offerings! We ate there every morning! Hotel price was very reasonable and breakfast reasonable too! We would definitely stay there again if visiting Orange Walk.

We stayed here for 2 nights to visit the ruins of Lamanai via boat. This can be arranged by the hotel staff. We really liked this hotel as we enjoyed the birds in the garden and by the river. It is a very peaceful spot and Orange Walk is worth staying in as it is a 'proper' Belizean town.

We stayed one night on our way through Belize and we were pleasently surprised by Orange walk and St. Christophers. The hotel has a huge garden and access to the river, were you can see many species of birds. The rooms are simple but clean and OK. Make sure to eat at one of the local restaurants!

I had booked this hotel primarily to make a visit to Lamanai. The hotel turned out to be one of the highlights so far on my 5 week trip in the Yucatan peninsula. The hotel had a lovely garden that backed on to the river. The garden was alive with bird life and insects. This was due to the efforts of the owner, Hector, in reclaiming the land over many years and planting trees/bushes to attract wildlife. I met Hector when sitting by the river watching the birds. He was knowledgeable and helpful with explaining about the local wild life. At the end of one day, I was sitting by the river when Hector returned in his boat from a fishing trip. He invited me aboard and took me on an impromptu boat ride to see iguanas and the birds settling for their evening roost. Highlight of this was a tree full of cattle egrets and snowy white egrets. Sunset over the river was beautiful. This was typical of Hector's generosity and helpfulness.
