I traveled alone to Belize and books this hotel. The staff was very helpful and knowledgeable. I was able to get to the hotel and leave Belize, see the Lamani ruins all thanks to the help of the staff who spoke English!

Sadly discarded dorms in favor of rooms which are inexpensive, but absolutely nothing to write home about. Town would be worth skipping, but better - and cheaper options have become available on Hostelworld. BZ$45 for a single room should be no more than BZ$30 -- so go to Hostelworld for private / better / more inexpensive accommodation options in Orange...

Akihito hotel isn't glamorous- but it does the job of a cheap place to stay for visiting Lamanai. They even helped organise our tour (BZ £100) and it was one of the best tours we've had in Belize. The staff are VERY knowledgeable about the area, and pointed our a few great places to eat for cheap. We stayed in...

Had two rooms on the top floor. Very steap stairs! Room 28 was very hot and uncomfortable with fan only. Room 25 good with quiet fan. Interesting placement of mirror! I guess it confirms a previous post that it is used for other purposes Excellent shower

This is the only budget place in Orange Walk, so there's no way around staying here when you're travelling on a shoestring, but be prepared. The feeling we had during our stay here was slightly influenced by the way we were welcomed at the reception desk. When we asked the young man behind the desk (I guess maybe the son...

Cheapest place in town and although the place is clean the rooms a very basic. The major drawback for us was that it was possible to rent the room for two hour slots. That meant that there was a steady stream of 'couples' using the hotel for romantic purposes. I wouldn't stay here again for this reason.

The owner there, is great and the shower is fantastic!!!! WE felt very welcomed. Short walking distance to every ever and the beds are great!!!! I guess the best cost/benefit in town. To take rooms with air conditioner is quit advisable.

We stayed there two nights. The owners were very nice and helpful. This is the cheapest place in town. Rooms are noisy and old, but OK. If you want some comfort, don't go there but it's gonna by way more expensive! We booked a toor to Lamanai with them and it was very nice : Boat, food, guide.

Orange walk is a small town, so dont expect to have many options to stay, specially if what you are looking for is a not very expensive place. Akihito Hotel is very well located in downtown, there are many stores close to this place. The rooms are build in a strange way, the bathroom has no sink and when you...

Stayed here for 2 nights while visiting the ruins of Lamanai. Good hotel, very basic, but had hot water, fan and tv. Lee the owner is a funny chap, but very friendly and helpful. What you need to remember is that orange walk isn't geared up for tourists. The ruins are ok but I've seen better since
