The staff was great. The grounds were also very nice. The rooms were very dated, there was black mold on the ceilings, rusty faucets, jacuzzi tub didn't work, cracked mirror, dirty floors, shade that were delaminating and wouldn't work, dirty cloth furniture, no drawers to put cloths in, a tv that got snowy picture on a few channels that would freeze and wasn't smart TV so you couldn't use your netflix or Prime video. I switched rooms and found the new room to be a big improvement but still had the same problem with the mold TV and tub.
We just checked out this morning and all we can say is we had absolutely zero complaints about our week stay here. The staff was the most friendly and hardworking team ever. The staff makes sure every need is met and exceeded. The food was magnificent, the amenities were lovely and the people made the experience even better. The shuttle into to was such a plus and the room was so nice. Definitely stay in an ocean view room, the view off the porch is absolutely breathtaking. If you are considering coming here, book it. Experience of a lifetime.
After a hectic week of travel in Belize, we ended our trip to this resort. It was the perfect end to the week. Relaxing, great cocktails, clean and spacious rooms, and lovely staff. Would recommend it to future guests looking for somewhere to stay in the area.
We visited The Placencia for two nights (April 26 and 27). We had a horrible experience! On the second night there, we were locked out on the balcony of the room. My partner jumped across a small roof to the main stairs to try to get an extra key at the front desk. Unfortunately, it was after 10 and no one was at the front desk. He came back and when he was trying to get back on the balcony he fell. He was on the ground in pain and was unable to move. I was still trapped on the balcony and could not move. I started to yell for help. There was absolutely no one from the hotel who could assist. I yelled countless times and even used a light to try to get help. This was an emergency sitiation and their was not a single soul at front desk, or even a security on he grounds who could help. It was not until one of the guests heard my call for help that we got help.....to that guest...thank you a million! They saw him in pain on the ground, not being able to move and they called 911. The police came and took him to the clinic. The Dr. recommended an xray which could not be done in Placencia so we had to wait until the next morning to take him elsewhere. Of course, we came back to the hotel but we could not go back to the room, he could not walk. We stayed in our car for the rest of the night. When it was morning i went to the front desk and explained our terrible ordeal. I was told that the manager would call and up to today, i have not received a call. I am still in disbelief that we had an emergency situation and could not get help from anyone from the hotel. If it wasn't for the kind guest who came to help, i really don't know what would have happened. This was the worst experience ever!…
I just want to start off by saying everything was perfect, the pool was so nice, the rooms were nice. The only thing happened is our A/C went out and they had to come fix it. Ken is awesome. I left my laptop and he had it shipped. We will definitely be visiting this resort again. By the way the staff are amazing also.
BEST PLACE ! BEST AMBIENCE! BEST OF EVERYTHING! 💛 We went out to PLACENCIA RESORT for our traditional festival, it was the best experience overall. Mr ludrick , the sales team was our guidance whenever we book a resort for our vacations. The entire team at the resort was amazing. More highlights are they do shuttle services to and from the resort for the guests.
A big THANK YOU to Ken and the entire team of staff at Placencia!!!! Our retreats would not have been a success without them. They were the friendliest and most helpful bunch I've ever met - wish I had a team like them on every retreat. Special mentions to Jason and David who helped me set up for the classes everytime, to Mario and the chefs that made the best meals for us and the service staff Dennis, Yaser, Junior, Sandy, Michelle - everyone! Mr. Ken helped me out in so many situations that came up and I'm so grateful! I can't wait to come back to the Placencia family :)
If you are looking for a secluded relaxing place. This is it. It is not near the town. My suggestion would be to rent a golf cart. Great staff. They even custom made dinner for us with fish we caught. Activities are an option but it is on their schedule. Which was disappointing. Beach activities can be updated. Beds were very uncomfortable. Room was clean. Isser the Great made our trip memorable. Communication from front desk could be more clear. The food prices here are pricey compared to town. But you are on a resort. Ocean water was not as clear as pictures make it look. Not able to snorkel off resort beach. Sand at beach is man made. Not soft “beach sand”.
I booked this thru PADI. If you are looking for a "dive resort" this isn't the one for you. Seahorse dive shop (which was great) picked me up here at 0750 every morning, but I was not on the dive boat until close to 0900 because of how far out of town it is and all the other stops the bus had to make. I was under the impression that a "dive resort" would have their own boats and you would be able to load there and dive from there. The additional 2 hours of travel were not appreciated. This resort has a shuttle that will pick you up from the resort at 1030, 1230, & 1730. The return shuttle times are 1300 & 2030. Wasn't super convenient. Also $25 cab ride to and from. I'm convinced that we have bed bug bits around our ankles and requested the sheets be changed after 2 nights. The bites stopped. The food was decent, the pool was great, the staff was EXCELLENT. But, overall, there are better & more convenient places to stay on the peninsula.…
Stayed here for a little over a week with a suite with a kitchen. While we cooked a fair amount of our food (purchased from a nearby store), I ate a few meals at the swim up pool bar. The drinks were generously poured and the food was fresh. Our room was a little basic but spotless and cleaned daily. We'll be back!
