Turtle Inn is so perfect, you want to keep it a secret....but the people who make this place such a gem deserve to be recognized and applauded worldwide. Your experience entering Turtle Inn is that of entering a private paradise. The noise of the outside world gives way to the hum of the natural world, and the experience here is so seamless you could almost not notice the constant, meticulous, round-the-clock attention to detail being paid by every single person who works here. It really is a feat, and the results truly are magical. If there was a way to move in to Turtle Inn, we would never have left. Standing ovation to all who make this spectacular place sing. We will be back and back and back and back.
Genuine smiles and impeccable service: From the room to the beach and restaurant, everything was perfect and the staff made it feel like a home away from home. Thank you to Martin and Javier for always being here to assist us for the activities or if we needed anything and to Jimmy and César for the chat and laughs at the beach bar :) Best resort in Belize <3
We got married in November – after 25 years together. We wanted to have a celebration with friends but that’s not possible with the current situation with Covid 19. Then the question – do we travel, take honeymoon or stay home. I have to say taking this trip was the best idea we've had in 2020. It was a bit stressful getting out of here but once we hit the ground in Belize the stress melted, and we felt seriously safer in Belize than in California. We had challenges getting tested with results being within 72 hours – even after 3 tests in 10 days in the US with top insurance we did not have the 72-hour test in hand, we were tested at the BZE airport at arrival for $50.00 US and had results in 20 minutes. Why can we do that in the US?? From there we were impressed at the entre countries measures to keep everyone safe. The transfer to the hotel took our temperatures, disinfected our luggage and that continued for the trip – all transfers and rides took our temperature, the teams on and off property were very vigilant with hand sanitizing and mask wearing. Very well done! Plus, the hotel is in a very private location and sadly very slow with the state of travel, so we were virtually in our own romantic world a lot of the time. Perfect for us on our honeymoon and being able to escape the US pandemic, the politics and we’ve been stressed all fall with firers in California. The resort is stunning, very authentic and a real sense of place – the open-air accommodations, pools, spa and restaurants all are surrounded by the beach, pools and blooming gardens. Incredibly special. How wonderful to be surrounded by such stunning natural beauty and to be pampered and cared for by the attentive and sweet team. We stayed in a Seafront Cottage – literally 25 feet from the waters edge. Very authentic with thatched roofs, ceiling fans and beautiful décor accented with a lot of Balinese touches, doors, and art. The outside shower and private walled bathroom was my favorite – loved it and the soaps were awesome. We had our chaises brought out daily and had truthfully the beach to ourselves most days. Heaven. The water is very calm, swimming was easy, and they had some fun chaise floats you can swim out to and bob on the ocean and get tanned. Big king bed, rooms are huge. Loved it. Also, two stunning pools to enjoy. Food and drinks were great – a commend them for the variety of dinging. We had pasta in the main restaurant the first night, second night at the casual fish restaurant on the beach, 3rd night in the delicious local Guatemalan fish restaurant and we enjoyed a lazy breakfast in the dining room, enjoyed a casual meal in the sand most days. Prices were reasonable and the wine selection was amazing – thank you Coppola Family. We did venture out for a snorkel day – 45 minutes boat ride run by the Inn to a private island and no one in sight. Guide was wonderful, followed by a private meal on the island and then to swim with sharks. A day to remember. The town had several yummy fish restaurants we enjoyed – the Inn would shuttle us down and pick us up. The Inn is very special, the laid-back authentic luxury strikes the perfect tone. The service was genuine and caring, they were so friendly at every interaction. We felt spoiled and special and that for me is at the heart of a great property and stay. The team takes great pride and their ownership of taking care of us was felt. The food was delicious, I ate 25 cookies myself – they give you and endless supply of house made chocolate chip cookies – trouble 😊. I loved the variety of venues and cuisine for a hotel of this size, the pool guys, the breakfast team were all so good to us. All the way to Marvin in the garden who took a half hour to tour us and make a takeaway bouquet for our honeymoon celebrations - these are the things money can't buy and make a stay so memorable. We combined Turtle Inn with their sister hotel in the mountains, Blancaneaux. What a wonderful trip.…
Had a great stay at the Turtle Inn. The staff is fabulous and very accommodative. The rooms, common areas, beach, and food and beverage outlets are all top notch. Regarding COVID, the staff is going to extra mile to clean / sanitize which made us feel safe / comfortable. We will definitely be back!
My wife and I stayed here at the beach in Placencia after visiting the sister property Blancaneaux here in Belize. It's not a large property so it was easy to walk around from the restaurant, beach, activities, and rooms. Service here is excellent from the restaurant and bar staff to the front desk and concierge service it was all top notch. The rooms are quite large - we were in one of the cottages and it's the size of a small house, plenty of space to relax. The property's general manager Martin is also around making sure every guest was attended to. There are two pools, a main and an adults pool (recommended adults) which are small but we didn't see many people in them - most choosing the beach over the pool. You can get bikes across the street for the short drive into Placencia which was great. They provide a shuttle service to and from town in the evening. We were here in December and it was still warm even though we didn't have the best weather. All staff were wearing masks and kept social distanced when possible. Wifi was generally good around the property. The garden view cottage we were in is close to the road so you do hear the occasional traffic going by (it's not much but you do hear it). We would definitely stay here again and we were already discussing our next visit here on our way to the airport heading home.…
