We really enjoyed our week stay at the Ocean Breeze Resort. From the moment we arrived we could tell that this was going to be a great place. We stayed in the Snook Studio room and it was exactly as advertised. Great furnishings, comfortable bed and pillows, fridge,tv, toaster, microwave and the best of all...an Alexa. It was nice to listen to music in the room, catch up on news and ask questions about the area. The pool with a swim up bar was a hit as well as the hospitality of Ashley, the talented bartender who never stopped smiling. If you have a question about the town, Ashley can answer it while making delicious tropical drinks. Carla was a big help in the office setting up cabs, Covid testing and assisting in laundry service. If you needed something for the room she was happy to help out.Craig and Risa, the owners are wonderful hosts and strive to make your stay the best possible. Toucan Jacks, the onsite tiki hut bar and Tampa Bay Bucs fan hangout was a tropical Cheers on a daily basis. Locals and guests intermingled with stories of their adventures in travelling and living on a peninsula. There was an abundance of restaurants and take outs within walking distance that a car was never needed. Walter at the Pickled Parrot and Rick at Rick's Restaurant have daily specials and really good food we enjoyed multiple times. Ocean Breeze Resort is one of those rare places you find in your travels where expectations are met and exceeded. We have decided to put this gem in our regular travel rotation. We stayed in the Mahi Room and loved it! The room is modern, has an awesome view of the ocean, and we enjoyed watching the sunrise in the mornings. AC (controlled by Alexa) kept the room cold and we enjoyed downtime watching Netflix shows.
The location of Ocean Breeze was perfect—we are glad we didn’t rent a car because all shops, restaurants, and bars were very accessible by walking. When we wanted to venture out further (for example, for a spa day at Naia resort), it was easy to get rides arranged. The tours we did all picked us up by golf cart/shuttle and made getting to and from places a breeze.
Our room did not have a full kitchen, but that was okay with us. We are foodies and enjoyed eating out :) some of our favorite restaurants were The Shak, Rumfish Y Vino, and Muna ($$$—most expensivewe tried, but the whole lobster was worth it! Price was still reasonable).
Having Toucan Jacks bar at the resort was great. It’s small, never crowded, had live music occasionally, the staff was so friendly, and many locals would come hang out with a drink—which gave it a fun vibe.
The ocean was refreshing and felt like bath water. You could snorkel right from the resort, but we also REALLY enjoyed heading out to Silk Caye with Captain Jak’s tours to do a guided snorkeling trip on the larger reef.
Placencia felt safe and the people were friendly.
We were slightly worried how Belize would be in September, since it’s technically the rainy season. On one hand we were excited that it’s the slower season (which it was—nothing was crowded, and at times we felt like we had the entire beach/restaurant/spa/etc to ourselves). On the other, we wondered just how rainy it would be. It rained twice during the day in the week we were here, but each time it only lasted a short time. And both times it did not stop us from going out. It did rain in the early mornings, but the weather was beautiful throughout the day. If someone was looking to come during the time we did (Early September), I would not discourage them from doing so!
Fun things we did and would recommend: —Couples massage at Naia Resort —Snorkeling Silk Caye (through Captain Jak’s) —Maya Falls, River Tubing and Ziplining (through Captain Jak’s) —Taste if Belize Food Tour (recommend doing at the start of your trip to discover some good spots)

After 10 days adventuring about southern Belize on a sailboat, my crew and I were desperately in need of some effort-free paradise. The Ocean Breeze delivered as if delicately crafted from universal dreams of paradisical expectation...because it was. The owners have taken great effort to build a stylishly welcoming and efficient facility in which comfort ease and calm predominate. The rooms are exquisite, roomy light and well supplied. The beach is standout, with prevailing North Easterlies generally blowing calmly on shore. Innertubes, and kayaks are available for the motivated...as are numerous woven hammocks set between rustling palms for the less so. With Owners on site and a kind and competent team to assist in all manner of planning, OB is the perfect home base for all sorts of adventures in Southern Belize....above and below the waves. I'd be remiss if I failed to mention Toucan Jack's Thatch roofed poolside bar where Jolly mixes up a limitless supply of tropical concoctions. Guests and locals alike can daily be found mixing in this convivial environment. There's little more conducive to holiday relaxation then being able to step off the sand or out of the water and right into a perfectly blended painkiller or Pina Colada.

We were dying for an adventure/relaxing trip in Belize and we found the perfect hotel to call our home base. At first we were only going to stay a week but our adventure list grew and we needed to stay 12 days. Carla was a great help providing options for our stay. We started our stay in the Mahi room. It was second floor and beach front! Rooms there are super clean and everything was like new since the resort is only 2 years old. We had to move to our second room (Snapper) at the end of the week because it was not available when we extended. Snapper was just as nice and behind Mahi. This room had a full size kitchen and living area. We don’t cook on our vacation but we loved the extra space. After our daily excursions, we enjoyed going to the resort’s tiki bar for our Caribbean drinks. Mario and Ashely were super friendly and made the best drinks. We recommend the Watermelon Bliss and the Sangria. We met Craig and Risa, who built and own the resort, it was great meeting them and to learn about the building process of the resort. The facilities at the resort were again like new. We used the resort’s kayaks several times to go over to Placencia Caye to snorkel on the east side of the island. The snorkeling was good and it was definitely a money saver since the kayaks are free to use for the guests. There is an outdoor shower next to the pool to rinse your snorkeling gear. We also enjoyed the fresh water pool which was very refreshing after our snorkeling and diving trips. There are various restaurants that are an easy walking distance from the resort. Some were recommended and we used Google Maps to easily find them. We hated to leave but we have great memories. We recommend Ocean Breeze Resort and can’t wait to go back!

The Ocean Breeze is a beautiful recently built (2016/17 I believe) boutique hotel right on a beautiful, clean beach that is combed every day by Edgar. We stayed in the Mahi Cabana; it has the most amazing view from the upstairs balcony! The room itself was well appointed with air conditioning, a comfortable bed and flat screen TV. It also had everything we needed (fridge, microwave, coffee maker, and dishes/silverware) and at a very reasonable price. Loved all the staff, especially our bartender Ashley. She makes great drinks and an awesome shrimp ceviche at the convenient swim up bar! There are also hammocks and plenty beach chairs right by the bar on the beach. The owners, Risa and Craig were there every day, making sure all was perfect for the guests. It is located only a short walk to most of Placencia’s restaurants, bars and shops. My family and friends had a blast and we definitely plan to come back again!

Our group of 12 rented 6 of the 7 rooms at this boutique hotel in late Feb/early March for a birthday celebration trip. It was fantastic and would absolutely stay here again. This small hotel is only a couple years old and has just 7 rooms - it was a perfect set up for our group. Our group "took it over" for a week of fun and relaxation. The beach front location is stunning and it is right in the village so it is a very quick walk to shopping and restaurants. The property is very clean and lovely. The staff and owners are very friendly and accommodating. They arranged our taxi transportation to and from Placencia airport and our return Covid testing. They were always available for restaurant recommendations and to call for reservations or taxi service. We utilized the swim up bar, the on-site tiki bar (lovely bartenders), the beach chairs, the ice machine, the beach towels, the hammocks, the kayaks, the in room Alexa's, and the beach games. It is lively during the day (beach bar is public - but it's never too crowded) and quiets down in the evening after sunset and the bar closes. You will feel like you have the deck and beach to yourself in the evenings. All rooms have great ocean views, but the front "cabana" rooms are the closest and have amazing views. Housekeeping staff was very friendly and even made a towel cake on the bed for the birthday celebration.

My husband and I visited this incredible place last month for a little getaway before the holidays, and our only regret is we didn’t stay here the entire time we were in Belize! We hopped around to 3 different locations in Belize, and this was by far our favorite...reasons we already booked a trip back for April!
The owners Craig and Risa treat you like family the second you arrive and they made our stay the most amazing! We opted to take Maya Island Air from Belize City to Placencia and they had a cab right there for us when we arrived. it was about a 10 minute drive to the resort from there. Risa planned our day of Caye hopping with our tour guide Nick, and it was the highlight of our entire trip! She stayed in touch with me the entire time to make sure we could get on his tour, and I’m so thankful for her! I loved that they were right there to answer any questions or to just hang out by the pool with us! The sweetest people!
Placencia itself is the cutest little area and Ocean Breeze is right in the middle of it all. Tons of restaurants, bars, shops, grocery store, and marina within walking distance. We didn’t have a car or golf cart and never ran out of places to walk to. Next time we will rent a golf cart and explore a little more though.
We stayed in the Mako room, and being able to open our patio door and walk out to the beach was our favorite part. The view was incredible! The room was spotless and had everything you need. Microwave, refrigerator, toaster, dishes, coffee maker...the bed was comfortable, the shower was great, they have Alexa in every room. WiFi worked great everywhere on the grounds.
The pool was clean and cute! And the pool bar, Toucan Jacks was our favorite little hang out! We spent a lot of time there mostly because of their sweet bar manager Jolli! Huge shoutout to her!! She made our stay there even better! She was there every day mixing up yummy drinks and always had a smile on her face. She had the best recommendations for food! We loved everything we tried because of her. She is simply amazing! We loved just sitting there chatting about life with her, other guests, and the locals that come in to hang out too. The relaxed atmosphere here is what it’s all about!
The beach was raked daily, and the water is crystal clear and gorgeous. They have plenty of places to lounge around on the beach. Their loungers are so comfortable! I was worried about seaweed as you hear a lot about it in Belize, but there wasn’t much and it didn’t stop us from getting in the water.
If you are on the fence about this place, don’t be! Just book it! We cannot wait to get back there in a few short months!

Can't say enough great things about this resort and the owners Craig and Risa and the staff. They truly care about ensuring you have a great stay. You can tell by their attention to detail: spotless rooms equipped with top notch amenities; high quality mattresses, linens, and towels; Alexa in the rooms; beach is cleaned every morning; free loaner bikes and kayaks; and the bar and swim up pool is icing on the cake. You will be hard pressed to find a better resort in this area of Placencia.

We just spent 10 amazing days at Ocean Breeze! This resort exceeded our expectations. The location is perfect, directly on the beach with many restaurants/pubs just steps away. The owners Craig and Risa made us feel at home from the 1st second we land foot. They were always very helpful to guide us to the best things to see and do in Placencia. The resort is extremely well cared for and they have extraordinary staff that are making sure the guest are happy, especially Judith and Jolly. We enjoyed the Toucan Jacks Tikki Bar every day where we met lots of great travellers, lovely locals and expats with great stories. We are hoping to be back very soon :)

We stayed in the Mahi Cabana for 10 days at the end of January and beginning of February, 2021. The resort is in a great location for walking around Placencia and down the beach to several restaurants/bars. The small pool and on-site beach bar are great. The room was wonderful and had a large ocean front balcony. The owners graciously scheduled us rapid Covid test appointments prior to our flight back to the US. The Covid test was done at the hotel for a very reasonable price. We received our results in 30 minutes via email and a paper copy. Tourism is way down due to Covid, which is devastating for the tour industry, but a little silver lining for the tourists. We felt very Covid safe throughout our Belize trip including the transportation, excursions and accommodations. We were in the country a total of two weeks.

Yes US dollars are accepted everywhere and most places take only cash some do take Credit Cards. There are ATM’s here but will only dispense Belize dollars. We have schools and a health clinic right here in the village that I am sure would like donations.
There are more places to choose from in the Placencia area.
