Friendly owners and staff. Nice clean rooms and good food. Don’t believe the bad reviews i read. It is in a hard to find location and around some small locals residences but this is placencia lol. Great value for your dollar here and just a short walk to town
Where to begin! First it is NOT called Alan's Paradise Hotel. And thus it was next to impossible to locate & Hotels.com only gives it GPS coordinates which is stupid-it is ON Sunset Pointe Rd. It is called Paradise Resort-which is beyond hilarious. Why? Because, on any level whatsoever, this is NOT a resort. It is perhaps a hotel or an inn. False advertising for sure regardless of it is on the water (not on a beach) and has a pier & some kayaks & a restaurant. Sounds like they have gotten this approach from the idiot alleged "resorts" back in the US that call themselves a resort if they have only a pool, a restaurant AND a spa-that is NOT a resort on any level either. Anyway-and I am trying to be nice-this is can be described as perhaps a shabby chic dump that is COMPLETELY surrounded by local shacks in squalor w/barking dogs & my window curtain wasn't dark at all so I had to wear an eye mask to sleep & you have to park your car about 500 yards away. It is super old. Rooms are tiny. Even though there are at least 12 or so rooms, the staff is only on site from 8-1 & 5-8 or 9 & allegedly you have to call them if you have an issue but that would be impossible without a local Belizean phone #. The wifi is terrible-my whole stay it went on & off pretty much every 10 or so minutes or more. The cable has an absurd amt. of channels including some incredibly obscure ones that ALWAYS worked yet the major US networks (ABC/Fox/NBC/CBS) would cease up the whole time. Avoid at all costs.…
This colorful, friendly and modest hotel is perfectly located at the southern tip of Placencia village. There is considerably less wind than on the more exposed western side of the village. You are close to the starting point of the mile long board walk, lined with little shops and restaurants. We stayed in room 12, which has a fully equipped kitchen and a balcony with a stunning sea view. Rooms 10 and 11 also have a balcony with sea view. Most of the other rooms have windows to the back of the hotel. As a hotel guest you get free use of their bicycles and kayaks. We had great fun exploring the lagoon just round the southern tip of the peninsula. The hotel restaurant serves excellent breakfast, the best eggs in town. Staff and management were very friendly and helpful, very easy to deal with.…
We have stayed @ Paradise Resort several times and always go back to start our Belizean adventures as it’s centrally located and perfect for water activities and a jumping off point for fishing, diving and tours to Monkey River. Staff are nice and food always good. Cheers
Dylan mixes up wonderful drinks and is an excellent host!! We are so grateful he invited us down the pier to join him! Also we saw a lot of wild life from the pier, between spotted eagle rays and dolphins we were so happy!!
We stayed 7 nights in room12 & enjoyed the harbor view, excellent AC, and full kitchen, living area & separate bedroom. The dinner & breakfast in the restaurant was very good & plentiful. Alan, our host picked us up at the airport & made sure we arrived there for our flight out. He also provided transportation to several places on the main drag. We couldn't have asked for a more generous host & a cheerful & willing to help staff, arranging for both flights in and out of Placencia before we arrived. Our housekeeper was a joy with her cheerfulness and creative bath towel designs awaiting us each day on a return from an adventure in town or on the water. Our only concerns water pressure & lack of hot water.
Our stay in Placentia was great. We stayed at the Paradise Resort at the south end of Placentia Village, with a sea view and a suite with kitchen and balcony overlooking the Caribbean. The staff was friendly and the restaurant was excellent. I would stay here again!! Rick
Paradise has responsive and helpful staff all around, from Nazle in the reception, to Dylan, minding the bar over the water. They can't do enough for you. Rooms on the second floor overlooking the sea are prime.
I stayed here for three weekends during my time with Reef CI (volunteering) and really enjoyed the stays. Staff were incredibly friendly, welcomed me back each time. They have bikes for free and golf carts to rent. Location has easy access to everything, on foot or by bike but the hotel also drops you wherever you want to go if you prefer that or have luggage. Really relaxed atmosphere and clean rooms. Fair prices if I compare to what other people in my program were paying or getting for their money. Restaurant is also good and is on the waterfront.
the bar at the end of the dock for the ear shattering RAP_SHI. music flooding the waterfront. The Paradise staff is outstanding, and I and my wife will return again,.Next door is Yollis,a gem of Belizean hospitality..
