Naia is the best choice in all of Placencia. From the location of the casitas, beach steps away from private rooms, excellent food and superior customer service there is nothing not to love. The staff was amazing and went above and beyond to make our stay great. Carlos at the desk handled all of our plans and excursions and was friendly and knowledgeable. Our tour guide Sendy was professional, super friendly and we learned so much about the culture, plants and local life and history from him. Excellence is what you can expect from Naia. Amazing service and accommodations, can’t wait to go back!

Perfect romantic vacation. My husband and I spent eight blissful days at Naia Resort and Spa. The quality of their services was outstanding. The reservation desk booked our round trip Maya Airlines commuter plane flights from Belize City, picking us up at the Placencia airport and ensuring all the details. The resorts is immaculate and beautifully designed. We stayed in a beachfront studio house and loved the floor plan, amenities and the decor. We had a large porch just steps away from the ocean. Staff will bring out a hammock and lounge chairs placed perfectly overlooking the most gorgeous ocean view. The resort has two excellent restaurants both serving fresh and creative dishes. The food was fantastic with excellent service. Resort guests have access to complimentary paddle boards, kayaks, bicycles and snorkeling gear. The property is stunning, the people are wonderful and we had one of the most incredible weeks at this resort. Very special place and highly recommend.

Naia Resort and Spa was the perfect getaway from the busy city. The beach was stunning and serene. Each day, the sunrise and sunset was incredibly beautiful. The service was outstanding, particularly Arlene at the beach bar and restaurant. She made me feel at home from day one. The hidden-away spa was beautiful and the massage excellent. Also took advantage of the bikes that are available for guests to explore the property as well as the paddle boards. Everyone who assisted me was extremely friendly and helpful. Highly recommend staying at Naia to enjoy the beauty of Placencia!

We traveled to Placencia and stayed at Naia in January 2024. It was the most beautiful place and probably one of my favorite places I have ever stayed. When you arrive you are welcomed by smiling, helpful staff and a nice welcome drink. Every encounter we had with staff was exceptional - they truly made it such a memorable experience. We stayed in a two bedroom vila with a plunge pool and everything was clean and comfortable. The location was absolutely perfect with lush trees between units giving a private feel. It was a nice easy walk along the beach down to breakfast each morning. The villa was large and was certainly enough space for us, our three small children and our mother. We thought we would explore the area a lot more, but Naia was so beautiful we honestly spent most of our time relaxing around the resort and eating at the one site restaurant every morning and most nights. The menu was good, food was great and location right on the sand was excellent. They have paddle boards and ocean kayaks you can use and we took those out one day for fun. Everything was organized and well maintained. The grounds staff was so helpful and kind getting us set up with everything we needed and giving us tips on where to go. The staff here just goes out of their way to do anything to make your trip memorable. We went on an excursion and got some mosquito bites and my son was saying he was itchy as we came back through the lobby area. The staff made some itch relief concoction for him and then asked how he was doing when we saw them again after that. On another occasion, they came and brought fresh coconut water to us out on the beach and then set up a hammock outside our villa. Everyone just was so friendly and always had a smile and willingness to help. We just absolutely loved our trip here to this beautiful oasis. We loved Belize and cannot wait to come back to Naia.

This is THEE BEST place I've EVER stayed at in my entire life. I can't articulate how beautiful the landscaping is. The villa was amazing, the food Amazing, the staff is very personable yet extremely professional. This place has become my #1 MOST FAVORITE place on EARTH. The only criticism that I could give Naia is the lack of a mental health professional on site to provide counseling for you to return back to your normal life because you will absolutely dread leaving this place. The Spa....OMG....the SPA is tucked back in a place that looks like God Himself stopped personally to rest at. If heaven were on Earth it would have to be located at this resort. I need to go back and say this about the staff...They are so friendly and hospitable you legitimately want them to be your forever friends. After staying here there is zero ambiguity as to why Naia won Hotel of the Year for all of Belize. I personally feel like it should be for the entire world. I have also stayed at Alaia. There is ZERO comparison. It would be like comparing a Rolls Royce (Naia) to a Chrysler 300 (Alaia), there is no comparison.

We were treated to friendly, competent staff throughout our stay at this paradise-like resort. Our studio was 50 steps from the ocean, and we opened our eyes to palm trees and lapping waves each morning. The tours they offered were varied, from snorkeling to jungle hikes, trips to spice farms to catamaran day trips. Rooms and grounds were meticulously clean, and we felt were never crowded, whether it was at dinner, on the beach or at the pool. The spa was magically situated in a lagoon with individual therapy huts. Food was fresh and well prepared, and the chef personally attended to people in our party with special dietary needs. We've already booked for next year!

My wife and I stayed here in early January at one of the beachfront studio houses. We found the property to be stunning, the building to be exquisitely decorated, the location to be beautiful, and the outdoor shower to be very refreshing and unique. We had a great time going to other tours nearby and thought that Placencia itself was a very quaint, safe, and fun town. Overall, we thought this was one of the nicest places to stay in Placencia. However, compared to other tourist destinations in Central America and other resorts in its same star class, we were a little disappointed by the service. A few examples: 1) the resort did not have hand soap in our bathroom, 2) it seemed that the resort did not provide the standard two water bottles per room per day (a small expense that goes a long way), leaving us thirsty on a few occasions when we got back to our room 3) when we initially arrived at the resort, the concierge told us that we would have the option of private beach chairs and a hammock right on the beach, but after further inquiries and confusion among other guests, we later learned that this was not the case and that they were first come first serve. Though outside of the control of the resort, we also experienced sea lice in the water, which explained why we didn't see very many people in the beach here. We also did not receive any information on if the water was safe to use for brushing our teeth, which other 4 star resorts typically mention when you first arrive. We also thought the service at the continental breakfast area was slightly above average and the cleaning staff did a good job of cleaning the room. The food at the restaurant on the property was very good and had great decor, but average service.

Response from Melonie Flores, Guest Services / Front Office at Naia Resort and Spa
Responded 4 weeks ago
Dear Staytravelling; Thank you very much for your positive review. Permit me to clear up a few of the areas that made your stay slightly less than perfect. 1) Providing separate bars of hand soap is something that we did in the early days of the resort. What we found, however, is that in most cases guests would use the small bar once or twice and abandon it, resulting in excessive non-recyclable waste. This is the same reason we abandoned the practice of using small personal-size plastic shampoo and lotion containers, opting instead for the large permanent bottles of custom fragrance Naia-branded shower gel (which functions as hand soap),  shampoo and body lotion which produces far less plastic waste. 2) The standard two bottles of purified water is one of the main reasons that our rivers, oceans and roadsides are becoming overrun with damaging plastic waste. You may have overlooked the card in every guest room at Naia that explains how the Placencia area is naturally blessed with some of the purist water on earth. It comes from an aquifer lying deep  below the foothills of the Maya Mountains and is tested daily by Belize’s national water company for purity. One of the most frequent comments we receive from guests is how great the water tastes and also—since it is naturally soft—how nice your hair feels after a shampoo. 3) As for the beach chairs and hammocks, point taken. We had previously retired an older quantity of chairs and hammocks and did not receive our new shipment in time for your arrival. Sincere apologies, but we are very happy to hear that you enjoyed your stay with us.

The staff really make this place amazing and make you feel like family! They are so willing to do whatever they can to make your trip wonderful! Huge shout outs to Jahir for being the best tour guide on our cave tubing adventure and for educating us about Belize, Sendy for driving us around and all of your kindness, Alex for also being our driver and helping us in so many ways, Shakira at the desk even helped us very last minute with our shells so we could take them home! Over the top best customer care of anywhere we have been! Highly recommend-We can’t wait to go back!

We went at the end of November 2023 after three days in the jungle exploring some of the Maya ruins. The resort was at 40% capacity so it was nice and quiet. We had a bedroom with our own plunge pool. The bedroom was nice, bright and clean. Very nice big bathroom with outside shower. We were happy to spend the extra money for the bedroom with the pool because the sea was rough during our stay and not very inviting. The resort swimming pool is nice but a little small, I'm not sure how relaxing it would be when the resort is at maximum capacity. The staff was all very friendly and professional. We ate at the bar and the food was delicious. I would have liked for the formal restaurant up stair to have a different menu so that we could have a different choice. We used the gym, very nice, clean, different types of machines, not too small, not too big. We also used the SPA which is very nice, with different little cabins connected by bridges, it almost felt like an "enchanted jungle". The only "negative" thing that I can say about it is that other SPAs offer a cup of tea with some snacks at the end of the massage while indulging yourself in the relaxing area. The Naia resort Spa does not have that and we felt rushed to leave right after the massage and that broke the sense of relaxation achieved with the massage. Another thing that we did not appreciate was the carts used by the staff to move around the resort; they're very noisy, and they start early in the morning. Another aspect to consider is that unless you're there just to relax and enjoy the sun and the pool, you will have to get a bike and explore Placencia because there is really nothing to do in the resort, and the amount of walking that you can do on the beach is limited, in particular if you plan to stay more than 3,4 days. One more thing, mosquitos... they're terrible, take precautions because they're just nasty. It is a beautiful resort, worth the money and we recommend to reserve the bedroom with the pool.

Wonderful spa experience! Professional services in a beautiful, serene environment. I enjoyed the chocolate/cinnamon scrub and it eliminated the itchiness from my bug bites! My husband had a deep tissue massage which was one of the best he’s ever had. The food service was also attentive and excellent. If you are looking for a top-notch spa in Placencia, this is it!
