Five star. Five star across the board. From the staff remembering my name, to the delicious welcome drinks. From the gorgeous property, to our spacious and beautifully appointed room. From the dreamy tropical outdoor shower to the delicious food at the restaurant. We needed a very quick turnaround for some laundry and they graciously accommodated us. Would definitely return and recommend to all.

Perfect romantic vacation. My husband and I spent eight blissful days at Naia Resort and Spa. The quality of their services was outstanding. The reservation desk booked our round trip Maya Airlines commuter plane flights from Belize City, picking us up at the Placencia airport and ensuring all the details. The resorts is immaculate and beautifully designed. We stayed in a beachfront studio house and loved the floor plan, amenities and the decor. We had a large porch just steps away from the ocean. Staff will bring out a hammock and lounge chairs placed perfectly overlooking the most gorgeous ocean view. The resort has two excellent restaurants both serving fresh and creative dishes. The food was fantastic with excellent service. Resort guests have access to complimentary paddle boards, kayaks, bicycles and snorkeling gear. The property is stunning, the people are wonderful and we had one of the most incredible weeks at this resort. Very special place and highly recommend.

We stayed at this lovely resort for a week. There is a lot to recommend it. The waterfront units are especially nice and we enjoyed our outdoor shower (with privacy). My wife has Celiac disease and must avoid cross-contamination, and I am a fish-eating vegan, so we can encounter restaurants that are not up to the task. The on-site restaurant was good, safe, and enjoyable. We did not rent a car for our visit, and the shuttle service to town was limited, so we did not eat off-site occasionally as we thought we might. If you do only eat at the resort, you will become very familiar with the restaurant menu. We enjoyed our dining, but by the end of the week we were very ready for something new. We did encounter one problem during our visit that was not resolved to our satisfaction. We were quoted an incorrect (reduced) price for the meal and drink plan, with the drink plan quoted price well below the assessed charges at check-out. This was blamed on new staff in training. After a very long wait at check-out while this issue was evaluated, we were given a slight reduction. We only realized after departing that what management decided to do to "fix" the problem was to refund to us our gratuities, which deprived the hard-working, friendly, and accommodating staff of their well-earned tips. Our advice is get the meal and drink plans in writing (ours were not) and have a rental car if you plan to dine out, especially for evening dinners.

Response from Clive Myers, General Manager at Naia Resort and Spa
Responded yesterday
Dear 99Wildtrips, Thank you so much for taking the time to provide us with feedback on your vacation here at Naia. We are very happy to know that you had a lovely stay. Please allow me to extend my apologies on the problem you encountered with out accounting for your meals and drinks plan. When our desk agent made the corrections to your bill upon checkout, all gratuities for staff were left in and were properly received. This should have been explained to you upon your departure. Sincerely, Clive Myers General Manager

Our family vacation for nine of us ( ages 5-72 years old), could not have been more fun, luxurious and accommodating. Everything was geared to our comfort. The staff were extraordinary. Our Belize trip was one of the best we’ve ever had! Thank you to all at Naia for making it so memorable.

Naia is absolutely beautiful, and was perfect for our anniversary getaway. We stayed here for three days before heading off to the jungle (Chaa Creek) and loved it. The beach is beautifully maintained, the lounge chairs they placed in front of our beach-front room were fantastic, the room itself (beach front) was amazing (although if we were to go back I think I would look at one with a plunge pool). We’re not really sit around the beach or pool kind of people, and my husband did go on one fishing excursion and we did the Monkey River excursion, too. We had hoped to be able to be more active without leaving the resort, but we did get kayaks out twice, swim a few times, and go for one walk. There isn’t a lot of exploring to do on foot, so best for people who don’t mind that. The wind came up a little more in the afternoons, so kayaking was more difficult (we have kayaks at home and are confident in them) but still possible. There was some seaweed, so the ocean swimming wasn’t the easiest. The food was great (we didn’t do all inclusive but then ended up eating there for every meal after all!). The people were great and I would definitely go back to Naia!

This resort is second to none if you're looking for a quiet retreat. The beach side cabana on the ocean was huge, with every amenity one could want. The outside shower is lovely - we never used the bathtub - water pressure and temperature were great. The kitchenette is fully equipped. Concierge did absolutely everything we asked. All transfers were right on time (except the Mayan Island Air stopped twice on the way in, when it was supposed to be direct - no big deal) The tours and tour guides were fabulous in every way - friendly and knowledgeable. Food was excellent. Know that there isn't a lot for kids to do - its really much more of an adult resort as there is no volleyball, boogie boards, playground, or water toys. For adults looking for a quiet spot with great day trips, I'd go back in a heartbeat!! Suggestions: It would be good to put plastic outdoor glasses in the rooms for use outdoors on the ocean or at the pool. A few more ocean side chairs or chaise lounges would be helpful. Sometimes there was nowhere to sit. The king size bed really 'rocked and rolled' when one of us moved. Not sure if it was the mattress but a little more stability would be nice.

I live in the area where Naia is so no reason to stay here but their well designed indoor upscale restaurant is open to all locals. Recently went with my girlfriend and it was top notch and the pricing was surprisingly reasonable for the elegance of the place and service. We started with the fish cakes-there were 2 of them and they were almost twice the size of any I have had anywhere in the world and only $10 US. For our entrees we both tried risottos-one seafood, one with shank steak and they were prepared to perfection for about $20 US each. Service was pleasant and attentive. As a bonus, since it was my girlfriend’s birthday-they prepared a personalized chocolate lava cake-gratis-kudos all around.

I love this resort. Stayed in a beachfront cottage and it was exactly what we were looking for, literally on the beach. A beautiful view of the sand, palm trees and ocean right from bed (and of the sunrise too). Beautifully designed, and with thoughtful lighting that enhances the rooms. The off-season maintenance is obviously meticulous because the resort opened in 2016 but there is no sign of wear & tear or weathering, everything is clean and freshly painted and looks like new. A great amenity for me is a full size (12 cup) coffee pot and they provide fresh coffee beans and a grinder. The porch has a table and 2 chairs and you can request the pool manager to bring a couple of (heavy) chaise lounge chairs & cushions for the beach in front (if they are not already there). Hammocks are also scattered around. This is a small resort so it never feels crowded and it's not a family resort (though a couple of guests did have children). The landscaping is absolutely incredible and so wonderfully maintained. There are excursions you can sign up for but many were all day outings and, after a long travel day to get there, I didn't want to ride to get to destinations. This was a 'toes-in-the sand' vacation but we did sign up for an amazing spa package (a body scrub session back to back with a full body massage) in the beautiful facility tucked away down a little jungle path. We had a couple of good days for swimming in the ocean but there were a couple of days it was too murky with seagrass but, no problem, we just went to the pool. We had beautiful breezes every day so did not have any issues with insects which I had read could be bothersome (I did bring Picaridin repellent though on the recommendation of online commenters). They serve breakfast, lunch and dinner and all the meals we had were very good. A continental breakfast consisting of some fruit, muffins, toast and beverage is included and they give you a credit toward the meal if you order a bigger breakfast. The entire staff were phenomenal and helpful. I made the airfare reservations to Belize City and Naia booked the commuter connection flight to Placencia. I highly recommend Naia.

This place was a piece of heaven on earth ALL THANKS TO THE STAFF. They are HANDS DOWN THE BEST I HAVE EVERY ENCOUNTERED. THEY SPOILED ME -- and set the standard high. Naia is amazing because of the staff. I laughed a lot on this trip, and they became my family -- as a solo traveler. They ALL DESERVE A BIG, FAT RAISE AND PROMOTION!! It's a long list, but I want to give massive thanks and gratitude from the bottom of my heart to: FRONT STAFF Shakira* (simply amazing!!), Carlos, Reynairi, Ms. Florett -- for dealing with all of my questions, asks and more SPA Ms. Sheena (healing hands, warmest and kindest soul you'll meet) LOGISTICS Marlon (the best concierge tour guide & shuttle driver extraordinaire), his patience with guests was amazing. One particular night, a drunk guest was very upset about shuttle service; Marlon was very calm, cool, and collected. He was so respectful and quickly dissolved the situation. I even felt bad and talked to the guest --but Marlon took with it such great stride. I have so much respect for this guy. Wilson (for my last-minute run before check-out) BEACH TEAM Trey (worked hard to get me my favorite color hammock, kayak, etc.), Marlon (super nice) Your professionalism, patience, kindness, going the EXTRA mile, offering solutions, and hospitality made me fall in love with Belize -- I love this country. Still, mostly I love the people and cultures they represent. Just stellar service, urgent and excellent attention to detail -- they helped me with all my needs and taught me so much about the beauty of Belize. BOOK AT NAIA. You will not regret this!

Simply amazing. Reserved suite 34 with pool and oceanfront. The ladies at the front desk were friendly and accommodating. The room is gorgeous with just steps to the beach. The vibe in Placenia is much slower and laid back than San Pedro. Great place to unwind and enjoy the peace and beauty of the area. Food was excellent and bar and waitstaff were stand outs (shout out to Carlos, Irwin and Juan). Will be back.
